Cascade HyDRO the blue uniforms are type II and the green are type III. They are getting rid of the blue uniforms in October of 2019. The entire Navy will be switched over to October 2019
The Official Dave Harris that really sucks. I always thought the Navy had the best uniforms. I’m in the Airforce and it’s a joint base and I see a lot of sailors with the green and some with blue. I never understood the purpose of a green uniform when you’re the water based branch. Same with ABUs if we’re mostly sky based why wear sage green instead of grey or bluish grey like aircraft. But everything has purpose I guess. Thanks for the answer!
Cascade HyDRO yeah that’s one of the reasons I joined the navy was because of the blue Camo now they are going out of style..lol I don’t get it either they say change is a good thing but we shall see!! Thank you for watching tho.
What determines who your room mate is? Is it random or do they try to put people together with other rates in their same duty assignment? Navy brat but I went Army and I was always curious both on ship or on land if they tried to keep people as close as possible with those in the same section.
It all depends on what ship you go to and when the ship nexts deployment is. Ever ship is different. When i got out of A school it was 6 months until i went on my first deployment.
GMacho most likely you will go to the barracks you would just have to check in at the barracks front desk and they will assign you to a room. If you are going to a ship you could either live on the ship or get a barracks room it all depends on what your command will have you do.
Tanishia Mccoggle until you make E5 you will get BAH to move out in some places it’s E4. If you get married or have a child. You can move out whenever it depends on you but you will be paying out of pocket.
I have a Question I hope you answer but my question is during your contract do you deploy every year or is there rates where you don’t deploy that often
Xavier Kluttz it all depends on what ship you are on and how many times that ship deploys. My ship went on deployment every 3 years so if you on a ship for 5 years like me you might catch 2 deployments. There are some rates that don’t o out that much like master at arms, Seabee rates.
The Official Dave Harris Thanks Man But I’m striving to be a Seabee I love working with my hands I’m going back to my recruiter at the end of the month or early June
Xavier Kluttz make sure you go back and get the job you really want it will be worth it in the long long. Seabee will be perfect for you if you like working with your hands.
Is housing easy or hard to look for in the military like off base where ever stationed? We get help for all the movings? Need some advice from the more experienced. Might need it in the next few months coming up like the summer. Thank you 😊 (I don’t know why it seems so easy but I think it‘a hard... 😩)
TheLifeOfQuin in most military housing there’s a waiting list but if you go on Lincoln military housing.Com you can check to see how long different wait times are.
Cisco Montes you have to shave but if you happen to get razor bumps you can get something called a no shave chit where you can let your beard grow to a certain length but you cannot line it up.
Sea Dubs on my ship it was mandatory for us to live on the ship for at least 6 months before we were able to stay in the barracks. I believe its different for everyone most sailors go directly to the barracks as soon as they get to their command.
The Official Dave Harris ok that makes sense. Jus asking because i seen another youtube video about life on a navy ship and the guy was saying how he’s been on two different ships for about 3 years. Does it mainly depend on what MOS or does that have nothing to do with it?
Also every one will have their own rack on the ship but the doesn’t mean you have to live on the ship. You will only sleep on the ship on your duty days or when the ship goes out to sea.
Lmao.. I just kidding I have a no shave chit which I a shaving wavier so that I don’t have to shave everyday. I have to keep my beard to a certain length tho. Because I get bad razor bumps from shaving everyday.
Thanks for you great Videos. Help me out a lot. How will I know if my son will get a barracks or not. He arrived in San Diego December 4th he's on the ship right now, but wont leave out to sea for a while
Mrs.Davis Forever it all depends on the the command I know some command that make sailors live on the ship at least 6 months before moving into the barracks or your son could go straight to the barracks.
Dam dude, never had to share room, in the Army. Our own room, camp humphrey, we have our own oven and stove top, fridgerator, microwave. Fuck!! You guys have a better bathroom though.
Cassius smith it all depends if your ship you are going to is going on deployment soon they will make you stay on the ship. Some ships it’s mandatory for E3 and below to live on the ship 6 months before going to the barracks. Or some places let you go straight to the barracks, so it all depends. If you are married or have kids you don’t have to worry about living on the ship or the barracks. You can live out in town or in base housing.
Damn, I’m in the Air Force, and I’m glad we invest more money on our dorms than other branches living quarters. Where I was stationed, every Airman had they’ve own room and restroom. A full sized mattress and a full sized fridge. And I didn’t even have to live in them for long, as an E-3 they let me move out for BAH/BAS. You won’t really see any E-4s in the Air Force not on BAH/BAS
Cali AirmanB17 that’s crazy y’all living good in the navy you we find some E5 living in the barracks..lol. You won’t get BAH until your E5 in the navy. Sometimes they make exceptions if the barracks are running low on rooms.

@@theofficialdaveharris8794 sorry this late but arent u busy all the time workinh
Joshua Walker yes on the ship we are but on shore duty we have more time off!
Do they have decorations restrictions for barracks like can I have my own comforter and can I put down area rug?
Yes you can have your own blankets and pillo, you can put a rug down also. You pretty much can do anything to your room. You just cant vandalize it or paint it. Just keep it clean thats all we ask. You will get a welcome package with all the rules and regulations when you check in.
The Official Dave Harris is it the same for CS A school? I’ll be going there in June. Can I have my own comforter and rug n stuff?
@@NoirAngelz3D to be honest i do not remember if CS A school barracks allowed us to decorate our rooms because you only ther for 4 weeks.
The Official Dave Harris I know I’m asking a lot, but on my contract it says 9 weeks so it’s actually 4 weeks?
@@NoirAngelz3D your fine ask any questions you have. CS A school should only be 4 weeks at Fort Lee Virginia. Im not sure why yours say 9 weeks.
What’s the difference between the blue and green uniforms? I’m AF and we just have ABUs and OCPs
The Official Dave Harris no problem. But hey, at least you got them before they were completely phased out 😂.
Cascade HyDRO I know these are going to be collectors items now..lol
That’s wild when I served army we never had rooms this small🥲
How do the married barracks differ than these?
Samantha Stout you can not be married and live in the barracks there only for single sailors.
Woah nice, nice than what we stayed in
Liz DeStefano what did you stay in?lol
Is this rule for every base and is it for certain rates.
Different bases may have their own rules.
Do OSVETS get the same rooms or are they separate ?
What are OSVETS?
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 prior service i mean lol
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 other service vets
Veterans don’t stay in the barracks just active duty military.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 oh ok, i meant to say to prior service get separate rooms or do they have roommates as well
What determines who your room mate is? Is it random or do they try to put people together with other rates in their same duty assignment? Navy brat but I went Army and I was always curious both on ship or on land if they tried to keep people as close as possible with those in the same section.
What the fuck, this room is way nicer than anything I've had on NASNI 😂
What? Nasni barracks are way nicer than NAB!!
So how fast do you get deployed after you first join after you leave school
It all depends on what ship you go to and when the ship nexts deployment is. Ever ship is different. When i got out of A school it was 6 months until i went on my first deployment.
Some sailors go to they ship while its already on deployment and have to get flown out to meet them at sea.
Do you like the navy?
It was ok I like be a civilian more
Can you decorate?
Yes
im going to san diego soon, im e-1 so do i have to apply for barracks or is it already assigned to us when we get there ?
GMacho most likely you will go to the barracks you would just have to check in at the barracks front desk and they will assign you to a room. If you are going to a ship you could either live on the ship or get a barracks room it all depends on what your command will have you do.
Aren’t u automatically an e2 upon graduation from boot camp?
Blake Bebout no, automatic e2 after 9 months
Golden Girl you’re right. I think some rates grant you e2 after boot camp though.
Blake Bebout after 6 months
How long do you have to stay in barracks
Tanishia Mccoggle until you make E5 you will get BAH to move out in some places it’s E4. If you get married or have a child. You can move out whenever it depends on you but you will be paying out of pocket.
In single and I’m 25, but I plan on going soon as I turn 26 is this possible?
Nope age does not matter I seen 30 year olds living in the barracks.
What command is this
31 navy the base in San Diego at NAB.
Hi! Do sailors in the medical field get put in a ship/carrier often? Any response will be appreciated. Thanks!
Yes they get put on ships often we need medical everywhere.
I think only Seabees don't get stationed to a ship
What base is this
In NAB in San Diego
What base is this?
Divi Vibes it’s in San Diego Coronado
what do the E4 barracks look like? Do you get your own room? Ill be in North Island in April. Trying to find a video of the E4 barracks.
What’s going on with that shave?
What’s wrong with it?
Didn’t know you could have a beard in the military.
Logan Jermon yes you can but it’s a process. You need a no shave chit from medical that allows you have a beard. It can’t be long tho.
Thank you 😊
(I don’t know why it seems so easy but I think it‘a hard... 😩)
What’s your take on joining the navy at 27?
Mike AFucku I say go for it man. Better late then never I know people that joined at 30.
I joined at 28... Do it!,
Bayboo K yes do it
Does The Navy Allow You To Get Housing For You And Your Wife And Child To Live ?
TheLifeOfQuin yes the navy provides housing for you and you family. Me and my family just moved into housing a couple days ago.
The Official Dave Harris Is It Giving To You First Thing ?Or Do You Have To Wait ?
TheLifeOfQuin in most military housing there’s a waiting list but if you go on Lincoln military housing.Com you can check to see how long different wait times are.
You the BPO? Lol. Sounds like it when you say "empty room".
Yes sir..lol
Are you able to keep a beard in the Navy?
Cisco Montes you have to shave but if you happen to get razor bumps you can get something called a no shave chit where you can let your beard grow to a certain length but you cannot line it up.
how do you know if you’ll be on the ship or in the barracks? anybody know?
So my last ship I was on for 5 years so I had a bed on the ship but I also had an apartment out in tow that I lived at.
I thought military conditions were much worse
They let you have a beard in the navy? I thought you guys had to shave every day.
Desmond Madison you do have to shave everyday but I just don’t give af!!
Lmao.. I just kidding I have a no shave chit which I a shaving wavier so that I don’t have to shave everyday. I have to keep my beard to a certain length tho. Because I get bad razor bumps from shaving everyday.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 wife said the same baby don't yall shave I said he got a chit she was like o OK thought I was tripping
Brandon Spruill lol
That's some nice ass barracks in Pensacola it's not that good
Officer Pagen we have even better barrack room here in San Diego.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 what no way
Officer Pagen yep
That barracks is way better than Norfolk, but maybe not quite as good as Pearl
Norfolk on base or off base barracks?
Thanks for you great Videos. Help me out a lot. How will I know if my son will get a barracks or not. He arrived in San Diego December 4th he's on the ship right now, but wont leave out to sea for a while
Mrs.Davis Forever it all depends on the the command I know some command that make sailors live on the ship at least 6 months before moving into the barracks or your son could go straight to the barracks.
Can you have a tv?
Of course you can. You can pretty much have anything in your room as long as its not any wepons or alcohol if your under 21.
somebody please explain the logic of wearing blue cammo at sea? you fall over u are done!
Well the NWUs are green now so I guess that's an improvement
Dam dude, never had to share room, in the Army. Our own room, camp humphrey, we have our own oven and stove top, fridgerator, microwave. Fuck!! You guys have a better bathroom though.
James Madison damn that’s crazy!!
I ship out to bootcamp March 25th 2019, going in as a ABH. Do I go directly to the barracks or do I have to live on the ship, im very confused ?
