When i was a kid i used to run the tracks between Dayton and Xenia, Ohio. I would occasionally see a DT&I train on those tracks. Usually short trains running very fast. Those diesels had the black block letters and were very dirty looking. Wish i would have had a camera in those days.
Amazing video as Always. Thank you
Great one again,I saw your post about Jim Hediger,.When it happen ,I remember him when I started in the hobby back in 1976
Shawn, always enjoy your videos! Superb videography and modeling! Thanks for sharing!
Just so beautiful and realistic!!! Someone has loads of talent, and a very, very keen eye for what's realistic. Just a pleasure to behold and watch. Thanks so much for posting. Very inspirational.
awesome video thanks for sharing .😊😊👍👍👍
maybe scrape Indi 👍👍
Nice running. Looks like you have been hard at work. I too have a hole in the wall that I'm working to "hide". I will be sure to check in as your expansion progresses.
Love seeing the old Fallen Flags, and no graffiti....
A very incredible railroad operation.
How'd you build the working tilting target signal? I've been contemplating building one for my club's layout.
Showcase Miniatures makes a kit and I took the parts from that and modified a Tomar train order signal. Works pretty good!
Another great video Shaun!
have to ask how much rolling stock do you have?
and I must say your layout is impressive and an inspiration and thank you for posting these amazing videos
30 odd years worth of collecting trains, so I do think I have quite a bit. That is, until I stage 2-3 trains and then I can definitely see the need for more. I’m holding off til I get more yard space built. For context, the shorts video I posted yesterday is every Autoparts car I own at present. Thanks for the compliments!
Excellent video 👍
👏👍☘
@7:24 you should call it CP hole in the wall 🤪
That was actually a real nickname for the location where the DTI passed under the B&O near Greenfield, OH, so you may just be on to something 😜
Looking good Shaun,,good too see you again [ its been a while ] excited about your expansions also. With your future industries- maybe just do a few mock-ups and swap in and out different scenarios and experiment and decide that way ?? Either way looking forward to what's coming. Thanks mate.
How about a small fertilizer operation in that spot. Maybe it gets a few boxcars or something.
Spectacular update and most definitely looking forward to seeing the grade crossing video and wiring! Thanks for sharing Shaun.👏👍😃
Great job, awesome layout and motive power
Great update and expansion!
Awesome video
Trying to find that Facebook page, did you say Carol Avenue Shops? Love that caboose!
carrollaveshops.com I believe he’s partnering with someone to release it, so watch that page for announcements I’d say!
I love the night street runs
It's looking great, Shaun. I have to know what the bell is for!
I honestly have no idea where that came from! It’s ended up in my or my husbands things and found its way to that corner and lived there ever since 😂😂
Layout is looking good Shaun! Another couple industries you could consider for the rural area could be a clay pit or brick yard. The DT&I had a few clay pits in southern Ohio were they would haul out hopper and gondola loads of clay to haul to a brick plant were bricks were produced for building roads, buildings, etc. Same goes for the brick yards, clay came in, pallets of bricks were hauled out.
Would you happen to know about the brick yards present-day Ohio Central serves? I’ve only noted boxcars out but haven’t been able to pinpoint anything coming in by rail.
Most of the brick yards now get the clay hauled in by truck. Most of the rail served clay mills either went out of business or tore the rails up when the railroad quit servicing them and began loading trucks.
Oh No I didn’t know Jim Hediger passed away. Bob Harpe passed away this week as well. Great Modelers are leaving us.
Yeah, a few weeks back. Quite a loss to the community.
