WOKE UP IN TOKYO is specifically designed for the Japanese market, leaning heavily into the J-POP style of music. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m glad they did something unique, especially for Asa and Ruka, who are both Japanese.
I wish they had kept the I woke up in Tokyo part in English and then are all the rest in Japanese. I figure they didn’t because it was actually someone else’s song so I think the Japanese parts are what was added for BabyMonster. They legit should do a 2D style anime ish music video.
I get why people don't like woke up in tokyo but personally i am a big fan of these japanese rap style songs so i am soooo happy the only thing is that it was a bit too messy for my liking and i wish the chorus would have been the key-iiiii part because that is the jrap-ish style that i like but still good song and i am so happy YG let them try something different and from there own country too
Here you go: 3:38 - "Click Clak" 9:05 - "Drip" 15:26 - "Love, Maybe" 25:55 - "Really Like You" 31:30 - "Billionaire" 36:28 - "Love in My Heart" 43:08 - "Woke Up in Tokyo" (this will be the nursery ryhme my future kids gonna listen.) 49:43 - "Forever" 54:43 - "Batter Up Remix"
Thanks for the support, you are a real Monstiez. Regarding the remixes, Stuck in the Middle, Batterup and Sheesh are definitely a show in their own right. A good example is the Summer Sonic encores, they improvise their vocals and are free on stage without worrying about the choreography so you can really see their souls as artists. Please give these songs one more chance and watch the encores live.
The guitar is a key part for BM because all their songs are meant to be performed live with a live band. Can you imagine how hyped the audience will be with their vocals and live band shredding on the guitar!
It’s not my favorite by any stretch…but, I can follow their intent behind the song and I’ll never begrudge an artist for putting themselves out there. I’m also olde enough to be their parents so the old time children’s melody is going to be cringey no matter what.
Haters will hate. Kpop is a bit nuts from the amount of hate out there from other groups. Even from other YG groups. Now that Lisa, Jennie and Rose have released their solo songs, most blinks are too busy running up the views and no time to spew hate all over Baby Monster. Much healthier and happier place now.
you should check out Hybe's monthly report, it's really a bunch of garbage, paying for articles to put down other groups, even using fake accounts to incite their fans to fight each other
Bro, YG watched your previous reaction and made this album especially for you lol.🎸🎸🎸Anyway Woke Up In Tokyo is fun, Ruka and Asa have spoiled the lyrics since their predebut era. I was hoping for them to go hard too, but as Asa said "What do you know is not what we see", and YG artist can't be dictated 😂.
Y to the G ,No Copy No Knock-off line by Ruka in news scene leaves no doubt YG is one of the originals even before Teddy she follows that by saying I bet on my life which clarifies she has no Doubt whatsoever-This Pitch I'm gonna walk off or she's calling attention to her next words which are, Monstiez don't mess it Hold it Tight (Hold down the fort don't be doubtful) Push it to the limit could mean 2 things always do your best and get word out enough to drive up the count and overtake the pretenders - Then she says You know we Goin' Ride in otherwords They: Babymonster will pull it off and also they ride with us. (My Interpretation only)
In Love, Maybe...Yes, Love, Love Love... it's Chiquita in the first chorus, Rora in the 2nd chorus, and Ahyeon in the last chorus. All so talented. The harmony is exceptionally sung by Pharita and Rora, followed by Chiquita. During the final chorus, Ahyeon sings the Love, Love, Love, and Rami adlibs the high notes. Then Rami closes it out with Ahyeon adlibbing. Everything you thought and more, right? So beautiful. So talented. How about the entire group harmonizing? This song was perfectly arranged and beautifully performed. They get better each time. I just saw a video talking about the Drip album is #2 on the World Wide Itunes chart/list. I left your reaction early do to the disrespect you showed during Woke Up In Tokyo. You didn't have to go there and you kept rewinding to continue your disrespect. If I was a Japanese person watching your reaction I would have been offended.
I don't like the hate on Woke Up In Tokyo, it was supposed to be a funny song with Japanese references, but people are really being so dramatic about it, that's annoying!!
Also the swag saying they are going to the top and overtake number 1 at Genius Korea they did with Clik Clak but Drip is rising even faster like BlackPink's 1st album
That Im waiting im waiting makes me laugh hahaha sorry but I loved it its so jpop ❤ its your opinion and base on everyone taste we all have that different taste😊
I get what you mean with woke up in Tokyo but i think If was placed earlier in the album you would gave it a higher score cuz being the last new song you heard that messed your vibe
Pew pew is also a drive by sound and also Boo-hoo teasing the victim and we delivering a Goku could describe what their doing also a hit on Japanese Music
WOKE UP IN TOKYO, a Thai person named WONDERFRAME, is the author of DEMO, with Ruka Asa and other songwriters writing additional songs. The words I WOKE UP IN TOKYO come from the melody of a malee girl with a kitten Meow from Thailand✨
Woke up in Tokyo reminds me of Milli a female Thai rapper. The song Mirror uses a brief melody of nursery rhyme and a more playful eccentric style. But I think that was better executed than WUT imo.
If they don't like your pauses there's a reason people are able to skip the pause ahead to the music also an option rather than go somewhere else which sounds less harsh (In my opinion only)
ok Rami talks about Ice and Water the beat resembles water drips on Asa and Ruka News Scene The guy with the screen it says that people in a certain district of Seoul started Dancing for no reason after discovering a Drip (Like Water)
Where have you been hiding under a rock, you should watch their training days they are the most talented compare to all other K-pop artist. Whoever is spreading that rumors lacks a lot of info and are looking quite st79!6
I also wonder if the Kitty Kitty line is a reference to either Cateye or MeoVV (Ex member that was supposed to be a part of Babymonster but didn't make cut is a member) and the Na na na line gonna run the town may mean nah nah nah instead?
Hybe is the worst company and they want artists to look cool and pretty and that's why most hybe are not good at their art they only want pretty face to get views that's why I don't listen to hype artists and they are giving opinion about other first they look after themselves

I loved it especially the anime references

No, its not for Japanese but for foreigner who loves japanese culture. Almost Japanese don't like this.
As a rnb lover Love Maybe 🤌🏽🤌🏽 but Billionaire and Really Like You was also my fave too since I’m 90s baby, so rnb hiphop brings gives me nostalgia

Wake up in Tokyo is jpop flavour rap so don't hate if it is not of your taste.
It is focused for certain people
It’s not my favorite by any stretch…but, I can follow their intent behind the song and I’ll never begrudge an artist for putting themselves out there. I’m also olde enough to be their parents so the old time children’s melody is going to be cringey no matter what.
Was waiting for your reaction thank you for supporting the girls they devoured this album❤
W for the love maybe such a beautiful sing ❤ their vocals are no joke

Baemon majority fans are BP fans only.
But in this years they gained so much fans that they dont need these blinks that much@@movieedits1017

Baddie or Badass are great terms in the US means to me at least Beyond Cool

It's a kind request please ❤

Forever is an awesome song imho. ]:)
Unpopular opinion: *Love, Maybe* should have been the second title track. I mean it.
ok Rami talks about Ice and Water the beat resembles water drips on Asa and Ruka News Scene The guy with the screen it says that people in a certain district of Seoul started Dancing for no reason after discovering a Drip (Like Water)
