There is one big change since 2011-there are new CPT codes for evaluation.
97161 - Level one initial exam (low complexity of patient condition)
97162 - Level two initial exam (moderate complexity)
97163 - Level tree exam (Severe complexity)
97164 - All levels re-exam
Remeber, evaluation is not diagnosis, it's about assessing the safety and progress of the patient/client.

Hey there! Can anyone tell me if these initial exam codes are still valid and usable in 2022? Back in the day we could not get reimbursed for initial exams. I am seeing that come up as a PT code. Are we now able to bill these? Also, are we having success billing 97112?
