The Kirby Classic III
The Kirby Classic 3 was in production from1976-1979
The Kirby Classic III was the last Kirby vacuum to come with the shake out bag alone.
Prior to the Kirby Tradition being released in 1979 to 1981 as the 1st Kirby vacuum after the Kirby classic 3 offering a shake out bag with option upgrade to the disposable bag system
This bright maroon model was very eye-catching for new Kirby owners in the 1970s
The newest innovation made to this Kirby model was the Vis-A-Belt. This was a clear plastic window on the belt lifter for viewing the belt position.
This model included many components and attachments such as the shoulder wrap, handi waxer, handi butler, shag king, sani em-tor, and crystalator.
The Kirby Classic 3 came with the handi butler which included the Kirby Jigsaw, Kirby buffing tool, Kirby Polisher.
Kirby Classic III came with amazing Kirby Rug Renovator this was an amazing innovation in the 1970s.
The Kirby Classic 3 is highly sort after by Kirby vacuum collectors due to the cleaning power and classic design of the Kirby Classic 3 which came with Kirby's famous shake out bag.

Simple fix? It looks very complicated to me. I am pretty clumsy and not a handy person. Especially the last part. To put it in the second position. Glad to have an Avalir!🥳
That’s why I did it step by step apart and reassemble .
To get into second position takes some strength to get in place as shown .
I wouldn’t want to do one every wk .
I can see why Kirby changed the design 👍👍

Nice detailed video, I remember the time I replaced the spring on my Tradition, I was having such an argument with trying to seat that notch.

on my Kirby heritage, the pipe where the shaft goes through to the handle is broken, I have searched and searched for a new one, do you know where you can buy one like that??

I would like to have a complete set in reserve but have searched in vain on eBay and Amazon but without success, do you know of a place to buy a set with all the plastic bushings and springs yes a complete set?
Dean, how do you fix a handle that has a fair amount of 'free play' on a G3 where it is attached to the casing? Should it be 'loose' or have minimal movt? I jcan move it from side to side easily via the top of the handle. I think I recall you addressing this in an earlier video----perhaps. Thks.

If the handle pivot keeps popping out of the second slot, is the whole assembly worn out?
Its Normally the plastic washer that wears, but you may aswell replace the whole assembly. As when you take them apart there is always another part that falls apart. Should be a link to new one in video description
