One little trick I use to avoid damage to the door handle when opening. Instead of just grabbing the handle and pulling to open the door, I place my fingers on the inside of the handle and my thumb over the door lock and just use the leverage of my thumb to pull out the handle until the door releases. That’s the best I can explain it but it’s a much more gentle process as it just “pops” the latch open before you swing the door open.

Always love your videos. I have a 2008 GT 1.9JTDM. I've replaced the suspension and the sills and it's now got no faults. The sills looked visually OK but there was a lot of rust coming from the inside - so they were all cut our and replaced. Love the car.

I recognize all the problems as an owner myself! I still absolutely love the car. I've had a lot of dings removed by a restyle guy and luckily haven't gotten any more. Probably because I always park far away.
I also had to replace both the window modules because the auto drop stopped. When the auto drop stops it tends to press in the window rubber so you get a lot more wind noise. I notice the window rubber you showed is a bit recessed. Do you get a lot of wind noise? You can easily pull out the rubber if you start at the vertical part to the back. Then simply refit it so it sits in the linner right. Helped me a lot with wind noise and water leakage! Just fyi 🍀 enjoy the gt

I have to agree as well. Also tend to recommend to potential buyers avoiding buying a GT cheap and in bad shape. I bought one from Italy absolutely corrosion free with low mileage even when the body was far from perfect and engine power was disappointing (JTS). Been having it for 3 years as weekend drive and made a lot repairs but as was already said, this car is lovely to drive, comfy (on good roads) and looks great.
Appreciate the view of jacking spots, 2B honest I crooked my doorstep despite I'm ex mechanic. Keep it up! Cheers

Thin sheet metal makes the Alfas really light and faster than comparing cars. Win some, loose some. Positive thing is that the parts are cheap and quite easy to replace.

The rear shocks problem is what killed my GT - rear left shocks broke while I took a speed bump, sent the car into a slide, straight into a barrier on the sidewalk. Tore the side and rear panels apart and it ended up being a total loss. If you're buying a GT, get these checked out as soon as possible.

I’ve just bought a 2006 1.9 JTD with 126k . It has a few faults .. one being the thermostat is stuck open , the second is the gear selector top hat bushes , I plan to do both of these at the same time as located under the battery . The other two issues it has are the drivers seat does not fold forward due to a broken cable and the seat bolster was torn. I’m pretty good with a sewing needle though so I have repaired that . All round though the car is in excellent condition. Bose , parking sensors and red Momo leather are some of the options on it
