    'Patriotism means to stand by the country, it does not mean to stand by the president' something Teddy said that means so much in today's America.

      True, but he failed to reverse the Jim Crow law and further denied the rights of Native Americans. One rule for some and another for others. How very sad. Do you agree?

    The National Parks Protection Act was enacted in 1871, thirty years before TR's presidency. So he did not expand "executive orders" to enact conservation law as the woman at 1:29 suggests. She suggests he "made law" through E.O. He used the executive branch to promulgate and expand an existing law.

    • @gamingdemigodxiii5630
      @gamingdemigodxiii5630 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      While I don’t disagree with this statement, this is true for not just every president, but for every person.
      How that dark side manifests itself, how if we let it rule us, and if we’re able to compensate it with the good deeds born from our actions.

      Those creatures that were shot and killed were specimens for the museum of natural history that were studied and displayed. TR really cared about the environment and all flora and fauna. Just because someone cares for animals doesn’t mean they can’t hunt. Hunters have a deep understanding and respect for nature and understand that there’s a balance that needs to be maintained in the wilds, and humans are a part of it.

    • @azinegg
      @azinegg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@domspeziale8503 Thankyou for your articulate and emotive comment. I see your point. But I’m human against animal intolerant. I believe in what Darwin found out about the animal world. It is called natural selection, in other words survival of the fittest ...... prey and predator do just fine in keeping a balance in their respective habitats. Because after all.....humans are quite new to the table. And They are the most unbalanced of any mammal.
