    Question: where did you buy your pins?

    • @thequiltedforest
      @thequiltedforest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cynthia, they're called "Magic Pins." The ones I used in the video are Quilting Pins, Fine, 0.5 mm, 1 3/4" long. I purchased mine from my distributor and have them available here at my shop in quantities of 50 or 100 pins. If you'd like to order, just give us a call at 641-585-2438. Happy Quilting!

    I’m new to sewing and I’m just wondering why you sew the scrap piece of fabric after each time you sew a piece of your project?

    • @thequiltedforest
      @thequiltedforest  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's called a leader/ender, or thread saver. Instead of pulling a bunch of thread out and cutting at the end of each seam yiu just sew it under the foot. Then cut. Then you also don't need to lift up your foot.

    Thank you for the easy-to-make drawstring channel! These make great gifts for friends who do Renaissance Fairs, or cos play. Also great items to sell for the same.
    Of course, you might have to learn which fabrics to use, since prints were very uncommon during most of fashion history.

      That is a Lot of work for bags that kids care nothing about, that will end up under a bed, then in the trash. Save yourself the trouble, Buy plastic goodie bags at the dollar store, and make these for adults who will appreciate them (even that’s a stretch), or make them for yourself, or loved ones, who will love them.

      @Life Happens Even though your comment is a little snarky, you made me laugh. Just last night, I was thinking that I could crochet some little bags for my three grandchildren and put candy in them. This was followed by a reality check. They would be a lot of work and not appreciated. And I'm not being critical of my grandchildren...that's how kids are. They are cute bags though, and I'll enjoy making one for the right person.
