This is my favorite part of the album. Their next album Clutching At Straws is also very much worth your time. The lead singer and world-class lyricist Fish left after the tour for that album. The band replaced him with a singer named Steve Hogarth. My two favorite Hogarth led albums are Brave and Afraid Of Sunlight.

So now Fish is back in his home area and finds another meaningless relationship, he starts to become distant again and just wants everyone to leave him alone. Torturing himself for breaking up with Kayleigh. He starts thinking again to another part of his life, Mylo was an actual friend that was visiting Canada and died in a car accident. This was around '84 I believe during their Fugazi tour, Fish flew to Toronto to help with arrangements and a magazine writer saw him and wanted to get a quick interview, but Fish didn't know what to say. After this he starts hitting the drugs hard and just wants to go back to the beginning. The Threshold is him just seeing everyone around him and he is seeing others having issues just like him, some worse some better. Again this is just my interpretation.
