In this video we go over the now-cancelled Nike Kyrie 8.
These new Kyrie’s have a responsive cushioning setup with Air Zoom Strobel to provide decent forefoot feedback, however softness is lacking on both the midsole and the plasticky upper materials. Traction is excellent on different settings, as the rubber grips the floor very well. With the fit, I would strongly suggest going up a half size from your true size, as with most other Kyrie signature shoes. Wide footers can even go a full size up. Stability and support are about average, and decent lockdown on feet.
Sadly this is very likely going to be the last Kyrie signature shoe, because Nike has suspended its relationship with Kyrie Irving due to recent controversy.

Kyrie infinity is the most comfy kyrie model for me. Good to know you got a pair of 8 after nike announced not to release them.
Yup I agree, Kyrie shoes normally aren’t known for their cushioning but the Kyrie Infinity was decent comfort.

Anyhow great review! I was kinda excited for the traction part seeing as they look extremely aggressive on these shoes.

Aesthetically this new Kyrie 8 is my favorite, because it’s a true low top, but I heard the materials are trash, and the fit has always been weird on the Kyrie since the fourth model. I’d say my fav is the Kyrie EP Infinity from Asia. Stronger more durable rubber, more true to size fit, not so suffocatingly narrow in the forefoot. it was by far the most comfortable and best performer, in terms of finally having quality zoom cushioning in the front of the foot. Sucks that Kyrie trashed it verbally. The Infinity and then the 4

Lots of awesome shoes unfortunately I play outdoors 😂 most of these are designed for indoors. I’m going back to playing basketball after 20yrs, now after checking which shoes to get- KD series have good reviews recently so definitely will try one. Surprised me how shoe design evolved over the decade- I remember back then thick and fat foamy hi cuts. Now it seems they’re becoming lighter in materials. I hope can still expect good protection.

My favorite Kyrie's is the Kyrie 2 & Kyrie 4, the Kyrie 8 go back to the Kyrie 1 design with Forefoot Air Zoom Strobel, the forefoot traction look the same as the Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2.0's Smear Traction

Hi Tommy, great work as usual! i just got kyrie 8 in orca colorway as well. But the blue color on the traction between the right and left shoe is different.. like the gradation is little different, but the seller says that it is authentic and like that.. is it correct? do your pair has slightly different color gradations as well? Hi! Sorry I’ve never used these outdoors. But the outsole does seem and feel more durable than most other Kyrie’s.
Kyrie 4s are da best basketball traction but not so cushioned

Thank you!! I honestly like the Kyrie 8 better. Both require some good break-in time but the Kyrie’s were much easier to break in, and the traction was excellent right from the start. Also the GT Cut 2 will have a more elevated court feel, but that depends on what you prefer I guess.

I know this is a kyrie 8 vid but I need some advice on the KD14s. I wear 11.5 with all kyries, 11 with traes, dons, 11.5 with AJ36 (Fits very long for me tho). Should I get a size 11.5 for KD14s or do you think I can go down to an 11? I like my shoes snug, have a normal, maybe a little wide? foot. (kyrie 5 low fit perfectly at 11.5, tho they do make my arches tired)
I’d say 11.5 for sure in your case. 11 might be just too tight and snug.

Similar court feel actually. These are a little bit more comfy after you break them in, but they’re gonna feel kinda stiff at first.

Hello. I’d say the Harden Vol. 6 is a slightly better shoe overall with excellent impact protection and outsole durability. Full-length Boost is amazing. But since you’re okay with the Luka’s, the Kyrie 8 should be great too, just remember to go at least a half size up if you were to get them. Both have really good performance, but if I have to pick one I’d take the Harden’s.
@@TommyLiu4 alright. I was considering the kyries because I somehow found them for 90 dollars. I can also get the hardens ar 100 or dame 8 at 70 but I don’t really like the dames. And I can also use the hardens ourdoors so…
@@yannisandrei3603 Oh umm that is a tough decision haha, cause it’s a pretty good deal on the Kyrie’s for his last shoe. But yeah it might just come down to which looks better to you or which aspects are most important.

@@yannisandrei3603 Are you considering them for outdoor use? But regardless the Kyrie 8 outsole should be one of the most durable of the Kyrie line, so I think they’re fine. Just that I’ve only used them indoors.

And from the more recent releases, I’d add the WOW 10, Zoom Freak 4, TWO WXY V3 and MB.02. These were great for my very flat feet, no soreness experienced. 😃

I still like the Kyrie Infinity for the better comfort level, but the traction on these is better. Might give them more time and do an update later on!

very few Footlocker stores sold them by accident, later on they might hit more stores and outlets on sale too

Some stores have the stock, just awaiting update from Nike so they can sell them. Man I had to talk someone into selling me these 😂 I’d say just wait, if they do go ahead to sell then they should be easily available at Nike & most retailers.

Umm right. I’d say better traction, but worse cushioning and comfort level compared to the Kyrie Infinity. Also worse materials, might do a comparison later on!

2 of the Top 5 of the year to me! I’ll take the PG 6, just a very safe all-around option. But super close, both amazing performers for guards.

Can the shoe last on outdoor?
Based on how the rubber outsole feels I think it’ll have much better durability than most other recent Kyrie’s. But I haven’t actually used them outdoors (it’s like snow season here already).
With a pair of gameday pro, these shoes are awesome
the Kyrie Infinity was awful. The middle of shoe was super tight. Even with larger size. I have wide and flat feet, it was a bad shoe.
Yeah right tight fit for sure. But honestly these are gonna be an even tighter fit especially at first. Decent for my flat feet though so that part I had a different experience.
materials are so bad on these. really disappointed. also the cushion, there’s no zoom in he heel. step down from the infinity 8s. but looks wise, i like them.
