2 things: Editing mode can be accessed by pressing ALT. This shortcut is so easy to remember and useful at the same time that I think every HOI4 player should know it. Holding shift when creating a frontline with a field marshal will create a unified frontline, without separate general level frontlines. This helps quite a bit with the frontline cohesion.
Talking about unified frontline can you do it with fallback line too so all generals with their army gets seperated into their own collumns instead of being spread apart when war starts?
If you're using an Army Group (Field Marshal) to create a frontline, it will create frontline sections for the armies in the group. This will cause the divisions to move around when the frontline moves and cause unnecessary loss of organization and planning. To avoid this hold shift and draw the frontline to create a unified army group frontline. And don't forget that you can use the commander abilities at a cost of command power. General and Marshals with special traits can get access to special abilities for examples: general with "Amphibious" trait can use "naval assault plan" to speed up naval invasion preparations, marshal with "logistics wizard" can use "extra supplies" to give extra supply grace (time units can go without supplies before attrition).
Now I know why each invasion ended up as chaotic clostrfuck with everyone running around like headless chickens. Thank you good sir. Now I may even conquer Belgium as Germany xD
I have an important question. Say if you have multiple army groups in a Field Marshall group. Can you assign a group into fallback line and another into Frontline, all while committing to the battleplan simultaneously? If so how does it work?
No, you can do 2 things: 1º just create the frontline and offensive line, wait until you have enought planing bonus and attack with each unit manually or 2º use the exploit of garrison neut5ral country and create a frontline with the field marshal and you have to manually move your units, in MP game the people do that @@vexillarius3356

Worth noting: Aggresiveness of execution will also determine if units will move up to the frontline or not, depending on the supply situation
this explains... so much. Thank you good sir
I have over 2k hours in the game and i didn't know about the shift click on the exercise button trick lol

You explained everything, even down to what keys and buttons to press. Other HOI4 tutorials gloss over that expecting you to know it already. Thanks
4.5k hours. Didn't have any idea what Spearheads did that smaller battle plan arrows couldn't. What a fool!
Thanks for this!

Dont execute your frontlines, that will destroy your manpower and equipment. Just make the frontline and attack manually, it works 90% of the times.
