Dang !! Gmk is nice, would say the best in mechanical low budget tier with many functions, i also got myself a gmk67 screen ver too and im satisfied with it aswell 😊
put that plastic film back on the keyboard. that is a static protector that prevents your PCB from dying. without it, static electricity can build up from the foam rubbing against the PCB and potentially kill your keybaord.
thats so funny... its not thats simply a PET sheet that changes the sound of the keyboard. It is used with a PE foam sheet to achieve that poppy sort of sound
You should do a PE FOAM too, you have to cut PE in shape and put it on the front of pcb. The plastic you peel out might be a pet. About the bottom case, you may need to fill it with some layers of foam. If you want to make the sound louder you have to make sure that there is no sound leaks out from the case. Your sound of keyboard primarily comes from the foam, plate, case. But the only things you can change are foam, plate. Pc plate will prefer thocky sound and alu plate will prefer clacky sound. You might hear about nofoam build which mean you have to take out the foam and tape a teflon on back and front of pcb.
So that plastic layer was technically meant to stay on? either way, the end product sounds great so I'm not sure how much better it would've made it. Thank you for letting me know though :)
@@PeytonToenjes It's PET plastic, you can always just do the tape mod for a similar effect if. I've got 2 x GMK's to mod.. tempted to see what they sound like with 1 on and 1 off
I completely agree, I had to make sure i caught the amazon listing when it was on prime and not 1 month and $20 shipping, but the product itself is great!
@@PeytonToenjes I can imagine, I used to own the RK61, then I switched to some other crappy keeb. Now I own the keychron v10, sounds (if you wanna know how it sounds, there is a video on my channel), feels and is overall much better
you did great man gave a like. I mod over 16 Keyboards lol you did good first time. Ans did to GMK67 might do more GMK67 Ill sub to man. Sounds good GMK67 is great board and mine are very thocky lol
I had a redragon k530 and messed up some of the screws while trying to open it up to prepare to mod it. Then i just bought an rk r65 and gave my old keyboard to my brother, I’ve only done one mod on it so far.
@@dtango3531 Ya I don’t rlly wanna spend more money to fix the screws and tbh the way you have to snap off the top housing on my keyboard is more easier.
i'm actually one of them. i currently own the rk61 and wanted to upgrade to the gmk67. i wanted to try a 65% gasket mount keyboard with knob for the first time while being tight on a budget so i chose it.

Fantastic
Nice high quality video. Keep it up
I appreciate it, man! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Now this is an actual big upgrade. The old keyboard sounds way worse, especially the space bar
I completely agree. The new keyboard sounds a lot better, but it also feels incredible compared to the old one.
