I have been a head shaver for almost 20 years now, and all I can say about the Leaf triple blade razor is that it is absolutely the best head shaving razor I have ever used. Got my Leaf triple blade a couple of years back, and I use it Quite often, and I’m so happy with the results that I get from it time, and time again.
Same here. The Leaf is the best head shaver available. Nothing comes close. I've tried DE, Artist Club, Gem, and even Head Blade, but the Leaf gives the closest, easiest, more comfortable shave.
@@LawrenceWhitaker just used mine in head shave for the very first time and it was awesome. I put a Voskhod blade split in half in the top 2 slots and it was epic.
My girlfriend has used the Leaf since it came to the market, and absolutely loves it. We have had issues with the springs failing, but Leaf has been amazing about repairing or replacing the razor. They pay for shipping both ways, and also recycle our used blades. I highly recommend them.
Congrats - you're the winner of the Weekly T-Shirt give-away! Please contact us at help@razoremporium.com with your address and size and we will get it shipped out right away! Thanks everyone! Stay tuned next week for another giveaway! - Razor Emporium Team
I really appreciate that we have alternatives to throwing our plastic razors in the trash. It's comforting to know that we can choose between a fixed double edge razor, a single edge razor, and even tilting head razors, all of which are more sustainable options. BTW, love your videos!
Oh hey, I'm a lady that uses these! Ive used the Leaf and the Twig. I didn't like that the Leaf's head bent quite as far back as it does, but I think the problem was somehow mostly fixed with getting a silicone sleeve for it. It's really a must to even hold the thing. But the head is too big and I guess I'm just not a fan of that style. I still test it out every now and then. But I use the Twig all the time, and it's great! Also love the accessories, especially the shower hook that fits all the different models, and the different color options
@tiggert45 as a head shaver I do appreciate the three blade slots, being a former Mach 3 loyal user. However, I agree that the head does bend back far too much. I wonder if Leaf has heard any similar feedback. Hopefully they come out with another version that pivots/bends just a bit.
I've had mine for years and it's my best razor hands down. I put a Voskhod blade split in half in the top 2 slots and it feels like there's nothing in the razor yet my beard is gone in 2 to 3 passes. I tried it on my head for the first time the other day and my head is smooth as glass. Even a heavy beard growth won't stop it.
My wife and myswlf were in the shop yesterday afternoon. We picked up an Ariana and Evans soap and splash for me, and a Leaf Thorn and stand for my wife. Great video as always Matt.
I just started head shaving myself, and am using my DE razors. It definitely has a learning curve and I'm really having to watch the angles. This razor may be the answer.
Thnx Matt, just was gifted a multi/blade from my son who got me back into wet shaving in 2017. Long story I will keep it close @ hand. I’m an old school guy who got into cartridge shaving when I got drafted in 1970 that was military prototicall. When ya get back & find no other razors but cartridge it sux til I discovered a different experience. I’m back rest is history. Thnx
The Leaf Twig is my go to for single edge razor. It is extremely mild and you can get just about everywhere with it. I only use it for face shaving and shaving my neck occasionally. There pre-shave oil is really good too.
I bought a leaf a few months ago. Nice for a head shaver... I used it for about 2 weeks and bought a Proof razor. I haven't used the leaf since. Nothing wrong with it, but I like the Proof better.
I do not head shave as I still have most of my hair... going bald on my crown However, I heard a lot of great feedback from head shavers on YT that absolutely love the Leaf. If I am ever to the point where I need to start head shaving, this will be the product I start with. Matt, you didn't mention the more aggressive Thorn... brother to the Twig.
Good spotlight vid! I love my Leaf - though I only use it for head shaves. I switched to DE shaving about four years ago but held onto my Gillette cartridge razor just for head shaves. Getting the Leaf a year ago allowed me to finally ditch the cartridges for good.
Thanks for another great review, Matt! I have been a wet shaver for over 25 years now and love it. I have mainly used vintage razors, Single edge, double edge and straight. about 4-5 years ago maybe longer I saw the Kickstarter with the original supply razor, and I pledged to get one. I had already been used to injector style razors with my Schick repeating razors, and injector razors. I got it, loved it and when they came out with the 2.0, I purchased one of those. I haven't purchased the newest Supply razor because it's a cast alloy. I eventually branched out to include a Oneblade Core and Shavette's just to try out new things. I still prefer my vintage razors. I have seen the Leaf for a while but never pulled the trigger on one, as well as the twig. Like you I like the control I have with a fixed angle razor that I control. That's why because of your video I'm going to take a second look at the Twig. Thanks for all you do for the Wet Shaving community, I have learned so much from your website and videos.
I have been using the Leaf for over a year and it is great for head shaving. I think you missed a point though, because of the size of the head on the Leaf, it isn't good for detail work and that is where the Twig comes in. I use the Leaf for large areas of my head and when I am trimming around my ears and things like that I use the Twig. I see the Twig as the detail part of the set, though if you have a double edged razor I think the Twig isn't as useful, though the tiny head is good for getting into places. The Leaf got me started into wet shaving, I have since picked up a Merkur 39C. I still use all 3 because even though I shave a lot more with the Merkur, the Leaf and Twig still have their places and for covering large areas of my head, the Leaf is still my go to. TLDR; I love my Leaf and Twig.
Thanks for another great video Matt!! I couldn’t understand why cartridge shavers would not want to go this route. As you showed us, they could actually narrow down, and find that blade that is there go to. And it might be an investment, but would be a lot cheaper in the long run!!
I have to say, I really appreciate the videos you produce and put on You Tube! They are informative, and give me some really good information when I am looking to purchase something. Most of the shaving videos I see on You Tube are from shavers who obviously think we like to watch people shave. I do not get my kicks from watching other guys shave....I watch the videos for the information available and I might want to purchase some of the equipment used.......when they shave with razors that are no longer available, or shave soaps that are no longer sold, it means nothing! So, again, thank you for the content you provide! Keep it up!
the head is a little bit Bulky on the Leaf if you have some sort of facial hair the idea is great i bought it but i dont use it anymore, i love The Twig and the thorn
I've got the Twig and the Thorn. To me they're just okay. I use my Rockwell 6S and Rex Konsul more often simply because I like a razor with more weight at the top and I like the adjustability. I do like that you can use half a blade which is and I like them more as a travel razor.
The original leaf (multiblade) has been my all-time favorite head shaver. I use two blades in the top positions and receive an exceptional shave every time. I also bought the rubber "sleeve," which really helps to make this the perfect tool for head shaving. YMMV.
I have shaved with a safety razor on my face for years, as well as my head. No issues. The leaf razor makes head shaving a breeze! Way faster. It’s very efficient. Often I don’t have time to shave my head more than once a week. So with a weeks worth of growth and three blades in, it just chomps right through It did not work for me on my face. The difficult spot was around my Adam’s apple as I am a slim guy with a pronounced Adams apple. So I continue using a safety razor on my face All in all, it’s a great razor and well worth the money. Especially if you’re head shaver
Matt! I just discovered something seen on Shark Tank years ago. It's a shaving brush that attaches to any can, especially Barbasol, and actually applies the shaving foam *through* the brush onto itself. I haven't heard a single thing about it from the actual shaving community - not even a single review other than from the company itself - so I'm wondering if you could maybe give it a proper review. It's called the "Legacy Shaving Brush" and I'd really like to see your opinion on it! (I know, I'm sure Barabasol will still Barbasuck.) Edit: My theory is that you may be able to use it in tandem with a bowl and some drops of water, continuously making the Barbasol less foamy by swishing it in the bowl as you continuously put some more in until you get the preferable consistency. That is probably how I would use it, so it would be cool if maybe you could attempt that strategy with it. Love your videos!
The Leaf razor is what brought me to wet shaving. It is a great razor for head shaving once you get it down, it took me 3 shaves coming from a cartridge. I like it aince i normally use the bottom two slots but if i have irritation i use the top two slots. The Twig and Thorn are great all around especially for getting into tighter spaces
Love my leaf multiblade shaver, it introduced me to wetshaving.. now i use a rockwell 6c with a nacet blade. The plate i use depends on how long the growth is. Thanks Matt
I use the Twig and it gives me a great shave!. Very easy to use and efficient. Leaf has their own single edge razor blades, but I like that you can use any blade you like by snapping it in two (in the wrapper). You then have two Twig blades.
Leaf is definitely a no go if you shave your face. For bald guys it’s amazing, but I’d definitely avoid for clean shaved guys. I tried to squeeze the head under my nose and got the worst shaving cut of my life, it’s too big to use. If you have a mustache it would be great as well
The twig is the razor I bought my son to get him off cartridge razors, he loves it. BTW you have sold on Permasharp blades, they are very smooth. Any difference between the made in Russia vs India?

The leaf thorn is my go to razor. It's fuss free and perfect for days where I want to shave fast and clean 💯
As a head shaver, I love my Leaf and Thorn razors. Both are in the rotation of my 32 razors.
Thanks Matt for describing the array of Leaf foliage.
This company certainly has a lot of bark to be so innovative.
Lol 😂
The best head shaver, without a doubt.
My wife and myswlf were in the shop yesterday afternoon. We picked up an Ariana and Evans soap and splash for me, and a Leaf Thorn and stand for my wife. Great video as always Matt.

Good to know!
Leaf Razor and Nacets are my jam !

Both razors look very interesting. I might have to get both.
You should!

Fair enough!

One blade in each slot or 2 blades?

Thanks for the video! I stopped by the shop a few weeks ago and loved it. I use a leaf on my head with PAA soap 🤙🏻

Thanks for sharing!
I've not heard of Leaf before, thnaks for the spotlight. I love the look of these, i'd go for the twig version.
OK, Matt, let me see you shave with this multi-blade unit. If you like it I'll buy one. Kind Regards, Dave
Deal
Love my leaf multiblade shaver, it introduced me to wetshaving.. now i use a rockwell 6c with a nacet blade. The plate i use depends on how long the growth is. Thanks Matt
Matt that Matt finished is the Thorn not the Twig because you see the dot on the razor where you load the blade
I use the Twig and it gives me a great shave!. Very easy to use and efficient. Leaf has their own single edge razor blades, but I like that you can use any blade you like by snapping it in two (in the wrapper). You then have two Twig blades.
I was thinking about picking one up before this video! Thanks!
Any time!
Leaf is definitely cool and innovative.
Love my Leaf. I also love my other doubles, but the twig is a great razor.
I bought one for my daughter to use on her legs after I got her into using shaving soap for that. Still trying to get her over her fear of using it.
Leaf is definitely a no go if you shave your face. For bald guys it’s amazing, but I’d definitely avoid for clean shaved guys. I tried to squeeze the head under my nose and got the worst shaving cut of my life, it’s too big to use. If you have a mustache it would be great as well
Don't have one (Leaf), never will, but it looks as though from the size of it's head that it would be rather difficult to get under ones nose.
The twig is the razor I bought my son to get him off cartridge razors, he loves it. BTW you have sold on Permasharp blades, they are very smooth. Any difference between the made in Russia vs India?
Haven't tried indian yet. Still getting permasharp
Leaf is cool design but I am Double Edge Blade guy.🤩
I'm totally agree 👍
Thinking about one for my wife. Not sure it the twig would be better.
I have a twig, thorn and leaf
I got one this bad 👎 cut my face even doesn't shave good too and you can't shave all your face many spots won't reach it
Environmentally friendly straight from China 😅
First! I just logged in and the video was posted 3 seconds previously! How about that for timing? Maybe I'm a shave psychic?
Wait a minute, all things "Vintage shaving"? That Leaf and Twig don't look vintage!
Send me my T-Shirt and I won't post anymore snarky comments!
Good review, but this looks like a torture device
