Nice one George 👍 I can see why you still have and love such a wonderful bike. Just a guess, It wouldn't be purple would it? 😄 A great song that was back in the day. Thanks for your comments and I wish you all the best and many more years of safe and happy riding.
Nice one my friend! It's obvious your roadstar brings you the joy we all seek as motorbike riders. For a 99 model you still have very low miles which means you will have many more years of great riding ahead of you. Thanks for your comments and keep safe while out enjoying that wonderful bike of yours. 👍🙂
I have the 1700cc version of the Road Star. I have a few comfortable upgrades: Bat wing faring with a 4 speaker stereo system, Vance & Hines exhaust, driver's backrest, and air hornes, but that's about it. They come very comfortable as is. Just make it your own. It's the best kept secret in road cruisers.
Hi Kentucky. Sounds like an awesome set up you have there. Now with a name like Vance & Hines you cant go wrong, same exhaust that I have 👍 Thanks for your comments my friend and take care. ☺
AWESOME, really nice to se guys like you, LIKE ME enjoying a BEAUTIFUL and powerful motorcycle. CONGRATS, beautiful bike. I just got myself a 2013 XV1700as. Great bike
Hello there, I just got a 2014 Yamaha Stryker 1300cc, and a 2004 basket case Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 which is being rebuilt as we speak for $3k, and I am a 55 year old dude, 25 year re-entry rider, haven't ridden since Bill Clinton was President and I was nervous, scared, didn't realize how my eyesight and body overall was worse than when I was 25, but I couldn't be happier ! I'm so happy to be riding again.
Michal thanks for your comment. I understand exactly what you are saying. It can be scary after many years not riding then jumping back onto a powerful bike. I grew up riding motor bikes but once I got married and had kids the motor bikes were just not a priority $$$, i had to sell them 😥 When I turned 60 my wife got soft and gave me the green light to purchase another bike 😄 I am 65 now and the last five years of riding have given me the same joy I got in my early years. It's so great to see another mature rider as yourself living the dream👍 take care out there my friend.
Hi Daniel thanks for your comment. Unfortunately the big open roads here can become very boring. Roads here in Western Australia can go on for hundreds of miles with little bends and turns and just looks the same mile after mile. In saying that there are really nice swooping roads up through the hills around Perth to explore. Take care my friend 👍😊
I owned a 2010 Yamaha Roadstar. By then the engine had grown to 1700 cc and was fuel injected rather than carbureted. Mine had saddlebags and a windscreen. Cheers mate.
Hey thanks for your comment. Your a lucky guy getting all those extras that come with the 2010 model. Those extras would definitely make some ones riding experience more enjoyable. Stay safe my friend while riding that awesome bike of yours. 😊👍
Fello west Aussie here , Damn these are nice , for the uninitiated you would be forgiven for passing that off as a fatboy, , got the sound, the look and style, with the Yamaha quality engineering , I’ll be o. The lookout for one of these when funds become available !!! Nice ride man !!
Hey thanks I appreciate your remarks. Yes a nice bike and we have some perfect W.A riding weather right now to take advantage of ☺ I hope you one day get the bike of your dreams. Take care my friend.🙂👍
Hi Brian That's a lot of power you have there under your seat, you lucky fella! 😊 and so little mileage on it too. I guess like me you wait for those beautiful sunny days with no rain clouds to get the most out of your rides. If I can help it I avoid riding in any wet conditions at all. That's not hard to do here in Perth as we don't get much rain ( May be 3 months in a year). Stay safe my friend and thank you for your comments.👍 Have a great day
Best greetings from Germany to -down under- !!! … Both bikes are excellent. 2 years ago I rebuilt my Roadstar (in Europe „Wildstar“) into a Bobber (rear tire 240!) and I owned the Kawasaki 1400GTR from 2007 to 2017. … I love my Wildstar and I will never sell this bike. … 👍
Thanks for your comments and your kind greetings from Germany. What a beautiful country. Your a lucky man to have your Wildstar and I wish you all the best while your out and about riding that wonderful machine. As a previous GTR 1400 owner you would appreciate the power and quick smooth acceleration that the shaft drive offers from the GTR. When it comes to comfort, for me that's where the Roadstar excels and that's one of the reasons I love riding it. Take care my friend and all the best on those rides.👍😊
@@vanceyboy1959 Thank you for your kind reply. ... Also Australia is a wonderful country and I am a great friend of yours. I even own 3 didgeridoos, which I can still play a bit with my age of 66. 🥴. I just typed Yamaha Roadstar 1600 and your video Vancey was the first one to come up, nice easy ride and commentry from Marks place there fella. Funny enough I have just been to look at a Black 2002 Roadstar 1600 today in Stockport, Manchester UK. Only done 7377 mile on the clock - thats nothing - £4800. Well worth that, as in my eyes thats a lot of bike for little money. Think 'llI be going back to see them about it.
Thanks for your comment my friend all the way over there in the UK . It sounds like a bargain, especially with those low miles on the clock 🙂 👍 If you purchase it I'm sure it' will bring you many hours of enjoyable riding. Take care BRRRRRR I bet it's freezing over there?
Hi Jeff. This summer here in Perth has been a scorcher 40 c plus. we are now entering our Autumn season which is perfect bike weather. Take care my friend and thanks for your comments 🙂👍
Hi Fella how things. You've now got me more depressed then I was before 🤣, as you guys have the best weather with all that sun, but here in Manchester it always seams dull and miserable or raining (just like it is now it's throwing it down). Never mind, we might & I say just might get a few hot sunny days in July / August all very sad when you think about it. Anyway ride safe Vancy, Cheer Jeff
Beautiful sound to that bike 👍😀 Im originally from Country Town of Parkes in Central Western Plains of NSW & Luv the bush & wildlife 🦘🦘🐓🦆🦉🕊 Where in Aus 🇦🇺 is that countryside ??? Luv the red dirt & roo's , From steve now living in Bundaberg Qld .
Hi Steve thanks for your comment 🙂 My mate Mark lives about 30 - 45 minutes north of Perth. Bundaberg! that's a long way from Brisbane where i used to live many years ago. I,m glad you enjoyed the post. Take care my friend👍
Then increase the idle speed if you don't like the sound, but there's no need to have the engine rpms up when it's sitting there. It's called idle for a reason.
My 2002 Roadstar has 88k miles & still runs great! Bought it brand new in Nov 2001. Named it the purple people eater. Love the bike
