I was lucky on getting that 5 digit code but, I did changed it to something easy for me to remembered on my 2011 Mercury Milan, 2015 Ford Escape, and even the same code on my 2020 Ford Escape. The 1st 2 vehicles that I did by myself w/o any help. I did have a little help on the last one. It was done inside of the vehicle. It was easy to typed the new code into it. Even my parents had vehicles with an easy code to remembered even for me,too. Their very 1st car that had a key pad on the door was a 1988 Ford Taurus. That one the code wasn’t changed at all. I even remembered it no problem. I even had fun in opening the car doors just after typing in the code.
I'm just now checking my owner's manual and when I bought my car was new it didn't come with a card inside with the number in it How do I locate one otherwise?

I retrieved my factory 5 digit code from under the dash. I went to my key pad, followed the steps as stated in your video and others, and it still doesn't work. What is the trick??
But if you put in the factory code then press the 1-2 button, then hold the 1-2 button for a couple seconds it wipes all codes but the factory one and then you can add your own and you should be good to go.

If someone already mad a custom code can you still make one? Because I tried to program my new code after entering the factory and still no luck.

Are you sure you read the code correctly? If so, there may be an issue with keypad or vehicle itself as the permanent factory code cannot be deleted
How about if you are 3rd owner of the vehicle the past pass code of owner before will automatically deleted?
