Most cars now a days won’t lock if the keyfob is inside the car. Like my 2016 Honda Civic Ex. If it detects it inside the doors won’t lock, even if you press the lock button or use another key fob to lock it, it’ll disable any locking features.
How long its disable locking feature? I leave key inside once for like 8 hours and it got locked , probably because its detect second keyfob nearby, fortunately there's one in the drawer in my house

But it has to be an EX model, the push button version in order for it to not lock. Not the one that power on with a physical key.

Since they came out with the keyless doors I have never locked my keys in the car. I put the fob in my pocket and have no reason to take it out. Even when there were only keys I never locked myself out.
The cars that start without a key are the ones you have to worry about locking in the car because you need them near the car to start it. Almost forgot and locked myself out of the rental car so many times.

People do not do this, you will either sheer the gears off the motor, or twist the motor rotor so you will have to open up the door to replace the motor which will cost hundreds of dollars, the experts stick a small bladder into the door in the top right corner and pump air into it to make a space to use a coat hanger to pull the keys out by hand, no damage to the door

If that works (I have my doubts) , but if this worked it would destroy the regulator (motor) and/or the guides in the door . I would call a tow company. They have lock out kits to get into the car without breaking anything .

What's funny is that my old car had a defectice motor and wibdow glass mechanism so I could use the friction of my hand to slide it up and down.
