When I hear him speak on that last note, "I love you too... Kadan." Its both proud and sad. He want's more time but isn't guaranteed it, so he stays, holding onto every breath and glimpse, but stays focused because if there is a way to make his love's life mean something again, one last time, he just has to try. He cannot do otherwise. Even though deep down he would prefer to take our Inquisitor far away to have as much time left as possible. Whoosh, fade stuff, am I right?
I just realised, Varric saying he usually describes a fireplace is a reference to how in 2, unlike Origins and Inquisition where you get a romance scene, in 2 you don't, I think it's a fade to black then the camera focuses really heavily on the fireplace in Hawke's room.
I swear to god, Cole is the single most wholesome character to ever exist; yet he is so naive. I never gave him a chance in my first play through but over the years I've come to love him. It doesn't matter the situation he will always be there for you and he can actually feel exactly how you would in that situation. So sweet and he deserves the world.
I'm gonna be perfectly honest and say i was not a fan of Cole in the beginning, but going through stuff like this and seeing the interactions he has with everyone makes me like him even more an and i think I'm gonna start using him more

Some just replay the same save file and take different people, then edit the banter all together. Maybe others are able to take them directly out of the game files to edit them too, I know that’s how people found unused Solas dialogue.
