The shore crab - one of the archipelago's most useful scavengers

  • The shore crab is omnivorous and eats jellyfish, mussels, shrimp, fish, seaweed and even ham. This is why the crab is an important scavenger in the UNESCO Global Geopark of the South Funen Archipelago.
    Next time a crab tickles your toes, try gently lifting it up with both hands. If you're lucky, the crab might give you a kiss!
