  • This is video is a very short comparison on LVP/LVT flooring vs Laminate...I don't have a lot of high tech equipment so no fancy transition screens haha. If you have questions though please leave them in the comments below.

    I am so glad to have found your video so I can tell you what a crappy product Mohawk golden blonde laminate flooring is. I got mine installed throughout my whole house in 2018 and a year later it started to fail with the planks peeling up at the corners. Now 3+ years later all of the wood finish has peeled off in the kitchen area and I am stuck looking at paper laminate. The housing guy blames the flooring guy, and the flooring guy blames the housing guy and neither will help me. I am even willing to pay for a fix but I only have one box of extra planks and I can’t even find them anymore because the product was discontinued. I had Pergo before in the kitchen of another house and it lasted 20+ years with zero problems. This Mohawk is failing in every room of the house depending on foot traffic. So disappointed and I will now have to replace the flooring in my entire house for $10,000+. And I have the pics to prove everything I have said about the Mohawk product.

      Sorry to hear about your problems...I am by no means a representative of Mohawk. We do work with Mohawk on ordering product and have a wonderful success with their flooring. If you feel the product is faulty I would reach out the company you purchased the Laminate at to request an independent inspector to come look at if for you.

      They both make really great products and I cant be for certain on Pergo Laminate as we dont sell it but I do know that this Mohawk Laminate is waterproof if that helps

    You ship to other states ? I need like 2000sqft if you're interested. Most likely a laminate. Nothing fancy. Cheap

    With a vinyl product, can you use an an additional barrier backing to add cushion and better sound proofing?

    • @outlookflooring971
      @outlookflooring971  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They make some pretty premium backing to go below luxury vinyl that would help...but we have learned over time that you would need find a LVT that don't have a backing already...we wouldn't suggest double layers and risk the chance to trapping any moisture

    What do you think about coretec 12mm thick LVP

    • @outlookflooring971
      @outlookflooring971  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coretec makes a great product... We don't sell a lot of it as we prefer the SPC core which is not offered by Coretec

    Do you possibly have any reviews on Mohawk Hartford SolidTEch Plus in Nantucket? Is there any difference in SolidTech and Rev.

      I do not have a review on it... In a nut shell Revwood is water proof from the top down laminate and solid tech is luxury vinyl... Vinyl is usually a little thinner but the whole product is water proof

    Thank you so much for the video! Would you recommend SPC flooring or Laminate flooring

    • @outlookflooring971
      @outlookflooring971  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They both have great qualities for sure but we typically lean towards Waterproof laminate with it being more scratch resistant than most SPC’s

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laminate! LVP has weaker locking mechanisms and cost more. And most Laminates are fairly water proof/resistant. If you get a flood or something serious like that, even LVP will need to be removed and most planks will get damaged in the process. And if they don’t make that exact plank anymore to replace your SOL and having to replace the whole flooring anyways. So that waterproof advantage is pointless. So Laminate is cheaper and more durable.

    I don't understand it when they compare why they do not try to damage them so that we can see which one can stand a beating?

      Well, when I use a scrap quality laminate cutoffs to set the spacing for undercutting door jams, it slowly gets scratched up with the saw blade lying flat as I guide the blade. The spc LVP chews up immediately. However, folks prefer the LVP as they can run contiguously into bathrooms and laundry rooms or kitchens. I do go through a lot of Ardex feather fill as the LVP products are a little more prone to subfloor unevenness.

    do you have mohawk bleached linen laid out on a larger surface? Trying to decide between that and sand dune

    • @outlookflooring971
      @outlookflooring971  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry but we do not have that... We have a large showroom space but not enough to get all the floors we want down

      I’m also debating between sand dune and bleached linen. Curious to see what you went with.
