    The rock/pebble accumulation is going to be insane and a big game changer in VFX. Cant wait to play around with 2.0!

    I think hands down Gaea looks way more realistic than World Creator 2023. But I feel like its biggest issue is the singe tile work flow. As you can see in this video, and literally very example on the internet, it makes terrains thats good for a 1st person situation on the ground.... but landscapes tht go off into the distance, ie for aerial shots, .... seems like a no go, or extremely difficult tile by tile and then manually blending them..... which is insane. World Creator 2023 has already overcome this issue. I really wish they would address this.

      Hi, would this single tile workflow works well if you were to make the map islands instead and covering the expose angles below with water? I am considering of getting this just for the purpose of creating islands but I am not sure if it would work at all.

    Until there won't be a terrain software that can do vector displacement with overhangs i can't see any of the new software having any real meaningful advantages over each other. Honesty i don't get how until now not even one terrain software developer even tries to incorporate vector displacement, this will truly be a game changer for me

      Yes, the free version is very useful. But I am very happy with the money I spent on the pro version, especially since it includes an upgrade to 2.0pro as well. The extra terrain sizes are worth it. I see a difference in the things I make terrains for. And unlike the let downs I have spent dumping money on buggy new game releases, Gaea is money well spent. I am a satisfied customer! 👍

      I have been using Gaea 1 for quite some time now, and as far as I know there isn't a feature to use 3rd party models in the software. You can create maps for your game, but you will have to export it to a 3D program or a game engine to be able to add other objects. Feel free to correct me if my statement turns out to be false tho. Hope this helps.

    How would you compare this program to " World Creator 2023", which is more professional, offers most options, is more industry standard, has most promise etc?

      Think this is finally better than world creator. more user friendly and affordable

    • @kiwivi21
      @kiwivi21 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I have both and would say it depends, Gaea uses the CPU for computing whereas world creator uses the GPU so world creator is much faster. Gaea can get better results with more detail but takes a lot longer compared to world creator which is filter based. World creator is amazing when it comes to stamping height maps, bridges as it has a bridge to most software, biomes, sculpting the terrain/hand moving parts and so forth.
      Imo they are both amazing and there isn't one that's better than the other it's more so do you prefer nodes and value a bit better final look then Gaea is the one (also cheaper) world creator is faster, but more control so forth.
      Neither is necessarily better and can be used in conjunction

      World Creator is garbage. They've adjusted the UX a half dozen times in the last few years, and stay stuck on their re-write from the Unity engine. You should ALWAYS choose a nodes based option when you can. It's so transferable to other software, vs. the mess of a UX that's World Creator.

    Gaea 2 has so far in my experience been VERY unstable and has also been a nightmare to work in VFX (On a real production) using blender and maya. Gaea 2 is a downgrade compared to Gaea 1 so far. I DO NOT recommend you to buy the software unfortunately. Also their customer service is very slow to answer and they expect the community to do the dirty work.

      @@AD-Dom VERY buggy! I bought the latest version of Gaia Pro 2021 and bought the Deep Desert pack and guess what? The biome doesn't even show up in target biomes in world creator as they claimed. It doesn't recognize it. I did manage to get some of the individual spawners to work by adding them manually though. Here's a thought... they release a more expensive version of Pro that has LOTS of biomes with a large amount of assets and everything just works. Their software is just too buggy to make extra biomes be modular like that. Oh, and the wetlands stamps... didn't work at all.
