Did you have to program the new Actuator to the car? Or did it just work after replacing? Thanks for the Video! Feel for you on all the bolt and bit breakage!!

Great video, man!! Just ran into the darn parking brake issue myself. It will be fun, did you have to remove the stabilizer bar? One small thing involves bunch of other things lol I'm due to do brakes anyway - it would be fun.

Thank you. I hope the information was helpful. Yes I had to drop the stabilizer. Thats where the bolts snapped. Be careful and use lots of penetrating oil.

@johnsdiygarage8827 I replaced the stabilizer bushings recently without any mishaps lol hoping it will go smooth. Thanks again!! Keep making content. This will be helpful!

You do not need to remove the stabilizer bar, just remove the bracket from the actuator and it'll slide through no problem, then refit the replacement by reversing the process

Hey thanks for the tutorial, should be useful when I do it! Hopefully I don’t snap any bolts!
Quick question, did you replace only the parking brake shoes, or the latch and springs too (behind the rotor)?

Hi there @zhaoyangxie . Thank you for watching. Yes, I replaced the latch and springs as well. Depending upon the condition of your rear brake pads and rotor, as long as your in there you may want to consider replacing those as well. Good luck and be safe!

@@johnsdiygarage8827 Got it, thanks! I will replace my rear pads, and the URO part I got requires at least 50% pad life on the rear. I might also replace the rear sway bar bushings while I’m at it. Will let you know how it goes.
Did you replace the actuator with a genuine part?

@zhaoyangxie Yes, I used a genuine BMW part. I have been buying my parts from FCPEuro because they ship quickly and have the best replacement warranty in the business.
