Jason, thank you for your investigative journalism into the issue of suspect autographs. This topic rings close to home for me as I have a book that I spent over $800 on in 2020 from the UK about the complete history of the Monsters of Rock Tour. Both Rob Halford and Kirk Hammett posted on their social media that they signed each of the limited copies available. The signatures look legit on the translucent paper , but there is also a card that comes with the book of the other musicians that is either a copy of the signatures or done with an autopen. Thanks to your show I’m going to have to do my own research because this book is one of my prized possessions. Thanks again.
I'm very impressed with how hard you came out against this practice. Considering your odds of running into the band or working with colleagues of Bon Jovi, you didn't sugar coat it where others would have. Much respect to you for your honesty and fair, but forward, handling of this controversy.
I received two of the autopenned art cards. I've contacted customer service and first they tried to say they were real then just sent me a return label. I offered to send them a self addressed stamped envelope with the autopenned art cards for them to send me legitimate ones. I want the CDs AND the real signatures I was told I'd receive. Hopefully we get some sort of resolution and not just a refund.
It is messed up that they did a photo op of him signing the cards and used it as advertising on his Instagram page. Very deceiving. I bought my copy after seeing that... which i am now returning. It is shady.
I stopped listening to Bon Jovi a long time ago, after Sambora left I absolutely had no interest. I saw this album come out on release day, and saw that the vinyl was $47.99. I don't know if it was "signed" or not, but after I saw the price I laughed and said you have to be kidding me. Now after seeing the fake autograph drama, I can only laugh that Bon Jovi will "forever" be known as a fraud and a fake. Thank you for the video Jason, and for letting the fans know the truth. I truly feel sorry for those who got ripped off.

Some people may not realize that an auto pin is worthless, and they'll think " well, it's my signature, I might not have signed it with my own hand, but it's my signature" And not see the big deal, but when they go these extra steps to try and cover up it shows that they do understand the difference between real and autopen.
OZZY used Autopen with his Ordinary Man CD release and said they were autographed by him on the musictoday site. People started posting pictures of their signed CDs and discovered 1 of 3 variations of the signature were used on all the CDs. I returned mine for a refund.
Years ago, I opened some packs of The Osbournes trading cards and got an Ozzy autograph. I knew it was real because it looks like it was signed by a 3-year-old and I could 100% believe it.😄
The fact that they used three variations just shows that they knew that they were selling worthless autopens And ripping off fans, and took an extra step to cover their ass.

Excellent video. The world of autographs is so full of snakes and con artists that the best defense is doing ur homework on autographs ur interested in. Ive been collecting for about 40 years and like most things if you get burned you learn ur do diligence as its happened to me. That being said one of our safe alternatives is to buy from the artists themselves when the opportunity arises. Ive done it myself and think were getting authentic autographs which mean so much to fans like you and i that it feels like such a rip-off and is so disappointment. Ozzy got in hot water of the same thing not to long ago. Things like this definitely need to be exposed especially when we are paying hard earned money to these artists and like you brought up its the principle of the whole situation. All my autographs are for my collection and have no intention of ever selling and its getting harder and harder to find authentic signatures. If you cant trust the artists who can ypu trust?
My point of view is from my perspective growing up on Bon Jovi runaway album is that John didn’t want to see Ritchie make it big with his voice ..he knew that Ritchie would sing him out of a job???
Thanks for the awesome investigative reporting! You and John Stossel are legends! I just hope you don’t get slapped by Jon like Stossel did by Dr. D David Schultz for calling wrestling fake!
Thanks to FB groups I was made aware before mine came and of course mine was autopen. The store tried to repeatedly ignore the fact that they lied to me, and sent out fakes. Also before I made it to end of the your video I said you know who doesn't send out fakes... TAYLOR. I think they should refund w/o having to send the crap back and make it right by getting the real deal.
Wow! From what I just witnessed, I do believe fraud has been committed. Sorry you got ripped off, Jason. I've always thought something was fishy with Jon Bon Jovi. Its going to be interesting to see how this unfolds. Thanks for the information about this! 🤘❤️
I sent in 6 JBJ " SIGNED ART CARDS" TO JSA. THEY ARE BEING SENT BACK TO ME THIS WEEK 6/24/24 , I mat and frame similar items for resell....I usually only send one ,if I have multiple, in order to test run as I am charged same if it's good or not. I am pretty good at spotting fakes /Autopen , but Jelly Roll - White Chapel "Signed cd " got me for 4 autopen signed cds as JSA confirmed
What does it say about people who bought the cd for the autograph only? And not to listen to the music??? The cd cost me the same amount with or without the signature.
Yes I agree Bon Jovi sound is different without Richie but sounds like Richie doesn’t want to come back. Were people thinking they were going to make money on the autograph??!! Bon Jovi autographs lots of merchandise that he sells through his website all the time I’m thinking his signature is not worth much because it’s easily available. People bought the cd listened to it and now they want to send it back 😂 send it back without the autograph insert they will never know why do you want to keep a fake autograph?? We donated to the Bon Jovi fund maybe he’ll use the money to feed people at his Soul kitchens. Next time don’t buy a cd for an autograph buy it because you want to play it and listen to it. How many cds have we bought over the years before streaming that were trash??
@@Girlwholovesmusic77You're missing the whole point here, the fact is that people were promised a hand signed item, and instead they got one that was signed with a machine. That is a rip-off, they didn't get what they paid for, they got ripped off. It's dishonest. You pay for something, you should get what you paid for.
@@darreylhenderson702 agree false advertising but for the record my signature looks different than the ones shown but some of the examples shown are a little sus….If something sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Jason, I wish I could post a picture of it on here, but unfortunately you tube doesn't have that option. In 1991, I won an acoustic Ovation guitar signed by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora at a big music store in Schenectady, NY called Drome Sound Music. It's not there anymore. I was on the radio talking and everything when I won it, as there were a lot of people there who put their name in the raffle. I still have the guitar, but I have posted it many times over the years and showed many autograph experts the guitar, and majority of them said it did not look legit. So I am not surprised at all. Excellent video, and thank you for covering this. I love your channel! 🤘🤘🤘
I paid mine 0,99 pound preordering Forever and never thought it might be genuine although it looked like real ink and not printing (and signed up left). I undestand people feeling ripped off if they paid 15 to 20 bucks for this though. Thanks for teaching me about autopen.
I’m not an autograph seeker and I prefer not to bother musicians I like, but I live near the Rock Hall part of the year. Occasionally, I’ll stop in for a lecture/interview from a musician/producer and if they offer a signing, I may request an autograph on a record or book.
Bon jov has never been shit without the great Tico Torres on drums. And the greatest guitar and voice that ever lived , mr. Ritchie Sambroa.. ??? We fans love tico and Ritchie ?? Forever.. we know where the heart comes from???
Not saying it is OK or whatever but for me to buy things signed it really depends on how "big" the artist is, because the bigger they are I know at some point something is not getting signed, it might be stamped etc...which is why I generally never order signed stuff, for me that is more of a meet and greet thing. But if an artist like Jovi who is going to sell a bunch of copies I am hesitant on that because you figure they are going to sell at least 50,000 of these, do you think he is signing 50,000 copies? I have heard artists who do these live order shows its like a qvc type thing a few artists I know have done it, and they sell about 500 and get tired of signing it, so I stay away from "signed copies" coming from a website etc...artists always do a video showing themselves signing they rarely sign them all, Advice to people who want something signed from a huge artist, get it in person, not already signed but signed there if you are really wanting authentic stuff. If you want to chance it, I suggest sticking with an indie artist who signs maybe a 100 vinyls and sells them then you are getting the real thing by them
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen again like i stay away from the signed stuff for this reason even if they tell me it’s signed or show me video of you signing them who knows what’s legit. I rarely get something signed by mail preorder etc… again not really into the signature thing, I remember Oliva Rodrigo’s new album missing the first preorder batch and then missing another and then seeing them all over eBay for three times the amount before the album was even out so im skeptical on all these signed things. For me the few I have gotten signed from artists it was more because it was a vinyl release of something never on vinyl and it’s really got to be an indie artist I’m not doing popular artists or legend artists for this reason alone. Or it’s got to be a meet and greet and even then I’m not a big signature person some artists I have done vip for they give something I have had them say to me “do you want me to sign that” that’s how important it is to me I guess I prefer meeting an artist than the signing of something
Which doesn't make sense because he would have had to provide his signature for the auto pin machine Right? and there are at least three different variations of his signature, meaning that he provided three different signatures. So he had to know
@@darreylhenderson702 Not exactly. We know he did sign some for real. All the record company needed to do was copy those. The person does not have to be at the machine for it to be programmed.
I think some that were signed in the light corner could be real, but the ones we show in this video are definitely fakes, there can’t be 5 of the same exact signature
Millie Bobbie Brown (his daughter in law from Stanger Things) did the same thing with her book. I think she whispered into his ear a strategy, lol. Well, you both have lost a fan. I need to go back and look to see if the poster I bought from Bon Jovi's concert is auto pen cuz I haven't really even close to looked at it and thinking it was for the whole time.
Like you Jason, I have been collecting autographs for years and whenever I came across an auto of a well-known celeb and the price seems like a steal, it usually was not legit. I am not saying his signature is done with an auto pen and it is possible it could be real however Bon Jovi could sell his auto for more than $14.99 a shot. I am sure he could do a signing and easily charge at least $100.00-$200.00 per item.
This wasn’t about the money, it was about selling enough product to chart. Many of the signatures are fake, some people including me all got the same exact autographs
If you watched the video you would know the reason he sold the fakes isn’t for money it’s to a secure a chart position, many wouldn’t have bought that cd without an autograph
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Point taken. I watched the first part, not the whole video. Guess still a little disappointed. As for charts....the music should do the talking.... not merch. Thanks.
Ive been a jovi diehard for 25 years and this particular album it was clear he wanted that chart position. I dont want to believe hes involved but i wouldnt be surprised if he was. I got a signed album off amazon and it is top corner and looks legit i also went hmv London to get a signed poster with the album and managed to get 2 posters signed in silver pen and are slightly different sigs and clearly silver pens used. I will say years ago i got him to sign a 10x8 photo of me with him and he seemed to dot it a bit but i do agree these look shifty
Well I received my so called signed album. It screams of auto pen. No depression marks on the backside. Signed in the dark spot. Looks like what you’ve shown.
I would send C.D. back & hold on to "THE PROOF" can't wait to hear Bon Jovi excuses . Too many signatures, caused Carpal Tunnel... He's now, getting Surgery, so he can replace, Auto - pen • L.o.L
Autographs!? Oh dear f**k Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a moral wrongdoing, but the real elephant in the room has nothing to do with the authenticity of a signature on a physical album, but rather the chameleon elephant that 99% of people listening to this album cannot see from either (or both) a common sense standpoint within the current context of the artist himself, or from an engineering standpoint within the context of the deceptive 'devil' that has entered into the major label studio playing fields, which is Neural AI-enhanced and/or Neural AI-replaced "recorded" studio vocals. I assure you, I've analyzed as well as recorded/mixed countless vocals over the years, including using basic pitch correction myself as well as staying informed and updated on new offerings and software capability for both pitch correction as well as vocal enhancement suites/software that includes utilizing what is known as throat & vibrato modulation enhancement to take vocal believability to commonly unknown manipulated levels in studio settings.....and, again, i assure you....these vocals aren't even just simply manipulated by means of standard pitch correction and enhancement or even by drastic throat modulation methods....these are almost entirely manipulated and blended or completely replaced by neural AI programming of Jon's studio "vocal takes" or quite potentially even replaced altogether in various parts of the entire tracklist. I thought nothing of it when Motley Crue recently did this with Bob Rock spending countless hours inputting neural AI with an entire archive of Vince Neil's vocal performances for learning his vocal mannerisms and nuanced tone because, quite frankly, Motley Crue- aside from Mick Mars (until he was forced into the same thing on Generation Swine)- are bonafide definitive posers who may as well be called a gimmick act with their countless ghost writers, ghost studio players, and non legitimate "live performances", aside from the main guitar feed and shit lead vocals.... Plus, it should be a given at this point in assuming they will stop at nothing to be in the spotlight and keep money flowing in and feeling relevant to feed their ego and greed. Specifically, Nikki Sixx is rotten to his narcissistic delusional core. However, when i realized none other than JBJ, the person most people recognize as a fairly morally-respectable legendary frontman (aside from touring with beyond unacceptable vocal incompetency in recent years), has now stooped to that level with this new album, I now have little faith in the future of major label records. A sad and very distasteful moral time we have entered into with the music we once treasured as authentic "art" and passion/expression.
some are 100% exactly the same without a question… now there are variations, but there are multiple copies of each of those too. The idea was to confuse people, it’s not working

The problem is they dont want someone they love to be a fraud or be associated with it. but it is what it is
❤❤❤❤❤ preach!!!! Call the scammer out for what he is! Thank you!
The pen pressure is also the same, the sharpie width is the same, try that at home, It's Auto-Pen.
Wish he would send everyone that bought a 8x10 real signature.
That would be a good solution
I bought the "signed" album and I feel ripped off.
I hear ya, email and get your money back I did
Glad I did not buy one smh
100%
I got the signed poster from years ago, guess they are ok. Also last cd Jon signed a batch. They were selling the signed Taylor Swift CDs around same time back then, both were factory sealed. Was fortunate to miss out.. JBJ didn't rip me off this time!!
This is despicable... ripping off fans so your album can chart at number 1!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, yes it’s scary out there & a shame this happened
We should start a class action lawsuit on UMG and jbj. I’m sick of this crap 💩
My point of view is from my perspective growing up on Bon Jovi runaway album is that John didn’t want to see Ritchie make it big with his voice ..he knew that Ritchie would sing him out of a job???
My auto pen one was an insert in a vinyl we got , so that didn't matter CD or Album.
I like having my lp or whenever it is signed in person! It’s more fun and you know that you got the real thing!
In person is the way
Well I’m truly disappointed. I’m waiting for my “signed copy”. I’ll be sure to post it.
why-do-fans-buy-from-CelebrityAuthentics.....a-prior-known-forger?
It says they should start making better music and not rely on fake autographs to sell bad music, probably need to call Richie also
Yes I agree Bon Jovi sound is different without Richie but sounds like Richie doesn’t want to come back.
@@Girlwholovesmusic77 True, but somebody of his stature should n't be ripping off his fans this way. It's just not cool.
this is a Jon Bon Jovi solo group, NO Richie, NO Bon Jovi !!!!!
💯
Learning from his daughter in law
Yes she was selling fakes first!
If there is not a "back...and to the left. BACK....and to the left" reference in this episode, it truly will have been a "Waste" of time. MAKE ME PROUD JASON!!
No idea what you’re trying to say, I’m guessing this is an attempt at humor?
Is that a Cupid shuffle reference?
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen JFK conspiracy reference/joke
Jon gives autographs a bad name
I paid mine 0,99 pound preordering Forever and never thought it might be genuine although it looked like real ink and not printing (and signed up left). I undestand people feeling ripped off if they paid 15 to 20 bucks for this though. Thanks for teaching me about autopen.
It shouldn't be too difficult to get some decent scans of some of these and layer them in Photoshop to see if they are congruent with each other...
...maybe he knows singing career is over and it's time to join the presidential race in a couple of years? :)
I’m not an autograph seeker and I prefer not to bother musicians I like, but I live near the Rock Hall part of the year. Occasionally, I’ll stop in for a lecture/interview from a musician/producer and if they offer a signing, I may request an autograph on a record or book.
Looks like the available to ‘US customers only’ condition may have saved me from this potential rip off.
My dogs need to be walked early in the morning???i will send you money , with a fake autograph???
If you want to chance it, I suggest sticking with an indie artist who signs maybe a 100 vinyls and sells them then you are getting the real thing by them
Two words TAYLOR SWIFT, she signed all her pre sales and is way more popular.
The problem is they misled people to think these were signed by him .
He is going to release a statement that he didn’t know about the autopens. The record company will take the fall. Guarantee it!
I agree 100%
Which doesn't make sense because he would have had to provide his signature for the auto pin machine Right? and there are at least three different variations of his signature, meaning that he provided three different signatures. So he had to know
@@darreylhenderson702 Not exactly. We know he did sign some for real. All the record company needed to do was copy those. The person does not have to be at the machine for it to be programmed.
@@thechitownhustler okay, that makes sense
So do u think all of them r fake?
I think some that were signed in the light corner could be real, but the ones we show in this video are definitely fakes, there can’t be 5 of the same exact signature
Jason is the new Ford Farlaine
Alec is rolling over in his grave
Indeed
Millie Bobbie Brown (his daughter in law from Stanger Things) did the same thing with her book. I think she whispered into his ear a strategy, lol. Well, you both have lost a fan. I need to go back and look to see if the poster I bought from Bon Jovi's concert is auto pen cuz I haven't really even close to looked at it and thinking it was for the whole time.
Apparently shady runs in the family these days lol
just look at the signatures under a magnifying glass. You will have sharpie crossover. Don't runaway from your refund!
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen That sucks. Hope to see you soon on the road with my favorite frontman, Stephen Pearcy.
Jason looks like Timothy Gaines. The former bass player from Stryper.
Give this man a Pulitzer.
John is the JLo of fake music
Lol
According to a few sources, JBJ is worth over $400 Million. Selling autographs.... even worth his time?
If you watched the video you would know the reason he sold the fakes isn’t for money it’s to a secure a chart position, many wouldn’t have bought that cd without an autograph
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen FACTS we sure would not have bought one either, so does the one I return subtract from the total sales?
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Point taken. I watched the first part, not the whole video. Guess still a little disappointed. As for charts....the music should do the talking.... not merch. Thanks.
Taylor swift is worth a billion yet she manages to sign her albums 🤔🧐 what’s your point?
@@Tori0927 you made my point😄
Hi✋, Great Stuff Jason!! I think You should get the Auto Yourself (in Person) or buy from a Reliable Source such as Yourself.😀⚡️
If you say Lucky Ducky one more time….😩😂 good video though. I’m happy I got the original
?
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen I meant at one point you said Lucky Ducky like 5 times in 10 seconds, I was getting annoyed hearing it 😂
Ive been a jovi diehard for 25 years and this particular album it was clear he wanted that chart position.
Yep, It’s true. I got four fake autopen autographs.
I’m sorry you got duped also

Well I received my so called signed album. It screams of auto pen. No depression marks on the backside. Signed in the dark spot. Looks like what you’ve shown.
I would send C.D. back & hold on to "THE PROOF"
can't wait to hear Bon Jovi excuses .
Too many signatures, caused Carpal Tunnel...
He's now, getting Surgery, so he can replace, Auto - pen •
L.o.L
Trudging on sacred ground! But u could be right? If so , not fair to fans.
Autographs!?
Oh dear f**k
Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a moral wrongdoing, but the real elephant in the room has nothing to do with the authenticity of a signature on a physical album, but rather the chameleon elephant that 99% of people listening to this album cannot see from either (or both) a common sense standpoint within the current context of the artist himself, or from an engineering standpoint within the context of the deceptive 'devil' that has entered into the major label studio playing fields, which is Neural AI-enhanced and/or Neural AI-replaced "recorded" studio vocals.
If you don't meet the artist in person and witness them sign the item, then it has a 99% chance it's a fake.
Don't think they're exactly the same...at all...I see variances in all of them
some are 100% exactly the same without a question… now there are variations, but there are multiple copies of each of those too. The idea was to confuse people, it’s not working
I can't tell you how many musicians I met and didn't ask for a picture or a Autograph, but i did share some drinks and Handshakes.
I have Bruce autographed guitar. Basically the same. Jon try’s his best at being Bruce s.
Why is anyone even buying a Bon Jovi album
