24 HOURS Living With a Maasai Tribe in KENYA 🇰🇪

  • We spent 24 hours living and eating like the Maasai Tribe in the middle of Laikipia County in Kenya. The village we visited was small but filled with amazing people who welcomed us like we were old time friends.
Instead of doing the normal touristy tour of the village, we stayed for the night. The goal was to truly experience their way of living, understand their struggles eat what they eat and do what they do. This 24 hours was one of the most interesting of my life by far.

Last year, during one of your live vlogs, I commented that “your trajectory will surpass KARA and NATE “. I could tell that Tracy thought that was a stretch. Well, with this video, your fortunes are going to change drastically. There couldn’t be anything as AUTHENTIC as this vlog!

Authentic Kenya, authentic Dave & Tracey! This gonna be huge with international audience. The Maasais are the most romantized and filmed community in Africa if not in the whole world. Any showcase of their colourful yet mystical lifestyle elicits global curiosity. Don't be surprised to see clips of this Vlog with screaming titles soon! 😄

The northern Maasai/ Laikipia Maasai. When the Maasai moved to Kenya from southern Egypt and Sudan, they pushed everyone else out until the British came. They owned all the land from Tanzania to Nakuru, Nairobi, to Mt. Elgon, to Meru, to Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia, to Laikipia. In a deal with the British, they gave away (tricked to give away) all their fertile land for European settlement, and move to Dry areas in Laikipia, which became north, and the South which is Narok and Kajiado. Due to land ownership laws brought in by the UK, they can not recover their homelands, so many people have bought land in areas that belonged to them.

"the masai pushed everyone else out" and "they cannot recover their homelands, so many people bought land in areas that belonged to them". Looks like the maasai lost what they stole from other people.

Thanks for the vlog. 👍👏🏻 Nice intro & thumbnail. 👍Music 🎶👍 Village tour. Dave drinking the blood. Wow. Dave and the kid fighting for goat milk. 😂 Certainly a successful 24 hours with the Maasai. Interesting backstory of the village. Unfortunate about the drought. Great drone footage as always. Just wondering how sam got to the location where you picked him up. Did you get Maasai names? Did the dogs bark during the night? Thumbs up to Sam and his family. Nice adventure seekers outfits. Thanks for all the info. You all certainly had a great time. Glad to see the Where Next Family. Have a good afternoon.

In the vlog, there is a point where Dave and his muzungu friend are trying goat head bbq. Dave’s friend is wondering out loud if he should eat the “hair”. TRACY can be heard giggling in the background. That is the most hilarious part. You guys rock. !!!!!!

Wooooow ... you are brave man David Mani. Most if all, I like that you appreciate that what is considered "violent and inhumane" in your world is food and sustenance for the Maasai in their world. Much respect brother as you inform and educate your people on the multiple realities of social life.

Wow, another beautiful adventure. I love how u used Acacia thorn for toothpicks, there is also some stubs / trees for tooth brushes. It was funny how your friend said the hard part is the tough meat! I guess that’s how they stay looking young because they are exercising their facial muscles and you can’t even tell their age. Bravo Dave and Stacy, great experience for you.
If you haven’t visited Lake Challa, Lumi River and Njoroge springs in Taveta, you should go. Infact you see Mt. Kilimanjaro from there.
