Russ, I have a late 60 model Vendo rack machine similar to yours. If really cools awesome, the issue is my $70 electric bill increase every month that I run it. Do you find that the new unit from Vintage Cola would be cheaper to run?
Good question. Well this new unit pulls 13 amps loaded and 1.4 amps with fan and lights only. I was having a problem with the coils icing up after running about 5 days or so and then the efficiency was real bad. What I did was put a timer on the machine and letting it "rest" for about 10 hours a day. It is likely not the best for the beer to let it warm slightly, but the machine doesn't seem to care. It is back at temperature in less than an hour and the drinks are likely there in about 2.
I had a difficult time getting the thermostat to keep the unit cold enough. I finally had to run it low in the cabinet to get the compressor heat to keep it running. It is not a "whisper" unit, that is for sure.

It was a pricy $800. I replaced my fan about a year ago with one from a junk frig. One thing to consider for cost is to put the Coke machine on a timer. Good luck
These things are so fun to have in the house. I have an early 80s Dr. Pepper machine in my garage.
Cool video... thanks :o)
I have a Cavalier CS-96E and was looking for some information like this
3:09 Did it arrive with the evaporator fins bent up like that?
I might have bent a few . . .
Can I use the same one with my 1960’s Vendo or does it need to match specifically?
I would expect so. There are no tight clearances for fit here. I would reach out to Vintage Cola and ask.
I used the same unit to replace the one in my cavalier C5-215-120
Can you show how to change the cost of each drink? Or link to a video that does so?
I will soon, thanks for the question.

Does anyone happen to know to chang the price on this machine. I have the same model
If you look at my first video, at time 1:10 I show the DIP switches that are used to change the price.
Do you have the changer with the microprocessor like the video or the older type with the rotating cams? I have both.
@@navynuc1 mine is a 1964 with the rotating cams
@@AuzzAustin I have one of those units as well and I couldn't figure it out either!

How much did this cost? I really just need a new fan but after reading how much the initial daily running cost was I am interested.
