    Just a friendly input, THE ROOM MIC HELPS A LOT! Always thought the sound you get in a studio recording is a bit strange, but with the room mic i can hear more "natural"(?) sound and i like it a lot! Please keep that as a thing on every amp review :)

    Got the chance to try the Rocker 15 Terror and to compare it with the Brent Hinds and the Dark Terror.
    The Rocker 15 Terror is definitely more versatile and it's HOT !!! And once you boost it with a Tube Screamer, you easily land on the Dark Terror territory, with a better EQ, more mids... AND a beautiful clean channel. And it's way fatter than the Brent Hinds.
    ... Well I ordered it. :D Waiting for mine to arrive at home this week !
    KIller amp really. I'm definitely hooked.

    Hi. The 15 watt terror series is more than loud enough for a gig. Try a Mesa Thiele cab with a 200 watt EV12L. I use that for country with a 15 watt Jim Root Terror amp. You can set it for clean with your volume backed off to 5 with a Les Paul. For a rock situation I have a Dark Terror amp with a Stagecraft 212 diagonal cab. The cab has a Celestion V30 on the bottom and a Celestion C90 on the top. I can play fine with a loud drummer. I use a PRS SE 245 with a DiMarzio Tone Zone on the bottom and a 36th Anniversary on the top.
    I would suspect you are setting this up for bedroom and not to mix with a band. I don't use the gain past 1 o'clock. Crank the volume first then the gain when you are with a band. Start you bass, mid, and treble up a little at a time.
    People told me before that the terror series has a fizzy gain. Back you gain up. Volume first. Then add gain. The midrange is where your sound is....not an abundance of bass. I use reverb and delay in the loop.

    This video made me bite the bullet and get this amp for my 2nd band. Just back from comparing it against my rockerverb 50mkI. Played both with a 91 les paul studio, mxr micro amp on 1 oclock, through an orange closed back ppc 212. Loudness wise it was even a bit louder than my current settings on the rockerverb (very hard hitting drummer with loud drumset, metal band). The clean channel has a nice natural overdrive, but a little dark. For full on low chugging it sounds great, just as good if not better than the rockerverb. But where it falls apart is the dynamics. When you start softly it stays clean quite long, and then suddenly gets all fuzzy (fizzy?) when you pluck harder, while the rockerverb does this in much more natural way. So for lead guitars the rockerverb is much much more classy, and of course the cleans are really clean. The rocker 15 really punches above its weight, and in the most cases does an incredible job. But the rockerverb is just taking it easy and effortlessly delivering great sounds. So yeah, orange arent harming their more expensive amp lineup, but for what it is and at that pricepoint, just wow!

  • @travissimon2724
    @travissimon2724 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I dont understand why people say if you are looking for a high gain metal amp this isnt the one. I think it's a really warm dynamic head, and it definitely gets heavy but I can understand if it's not what someone is looking for. I think its all perspective though

One point, I think you said the Rockerverb 50 had the addition of an attenuator but surely the Rocker 15 has four power settings at 15, 7, 1 and 0.5W (a headroom/bedroom switch at the rear - or is that a recent addition)?

    I'm glad you showed how the more blues-rocky tones sound in a mix. Tbh, those tones often sound pretty bad and thin on their own!

    so its a just another Terror lunchbox with a different name on it xD

    • @dannyday125

      Dave knocks no. The Tiny Terror was one channel, single tone knob for the tone stack, and no effects loop. This has a dedicated ‘clean’ channel, a dirty channel with bass, mid, treble tone stack, and it has an effects loop. MUCH more versatile amp here.

      that's the ChaseBliss Warped Vinyl, you can make it out by the enclosure colour and the dip switches near the footswitch.
