I am a dot guy but want an LPVO and this is what is needed. I have good glass in swaro for binos and S&B, kahles, swaro, and leupold on my bolt guns. I am a fan of the euro throw direction and turret direction. Not only did I need this but the community needs it as well. Looking forward to more of this LPVO battle
35:01 The VCOG is great, the 1-8 was an improvement over the 1-6 version. It’s heavy on paper but like you guys said it has the mount. The marines were smart to field that over the SIG like the army went to.
@@ryaniam22 the elcan 1.5-6 has a super short eye relief, using them on 240’s and scar’s I do not like them. The only elcan I like is the m145 to mount on a machine gun other than that I do not like Elcans at all. They are heavy despite not being that big and I have had them lose zero.
VCOG is a set and forget design unless you change ammo consistently. You don't need hashes to zero at 100yd or 50yd you just adjust to impact and you're good to go. Don't really understand why that's a point of discussion, scopes at this level of magnification are typically capped which is a hint at set and forget. I think the VCOG design is very interesting.
One thing to remember is people will buy into hype and also try to justify their overpaying for said product. This is where you run into the vortex fan boys! It is a good optic but I don’t see it out performing half of these optics that are far less. One thing to say is vortex and primary arms warranty is second to none so there is that.
Great job on reviewing on these LPVOs. Can’t wait for the next vids. But while you’re at it and while you have the opportunity, how about including some mount reviews?
@@midtiersnobs I think it would be a good one. Everyone that does the "cheap" stuff acts like its the best glass in the world and pointless to buy the expensive scopes. An objective opinion from someone that actually uses high end scopes would be great.
If your still working on the last videos, I think it would be interesting to say which one you wanted to win (fanboy, biased) and what optic you ended up liking more by using which optic you disliked by using which company makes the best value to $300 besides what is the best optic overall, if you only could pick one. .... waterproof levels or any other outstanding metrics VCOG durability test?
Thr vcog is super cool but damn so heavy. But honestly most of these don't need to be near so heavy. Literally no one ever dials with an lpvo and if they dropped the heavy internal target turrets they could drop 5 oz and still be equally rugged. Secondly, 1.5-6×42 or 1.5-8×42 destroy these scopes in ease of use, eyebox, clarity, brightness AND are not ever much heavier. Most are lighter because they don't have stupid huge never used target turrets. Zeiss 1.5-6×42, meopta 1.5-6×42, or S&-B 1.5-8×42 or good examples. The zeiss is only 18 oz! The only thing they lack is 1x and most guys hate using lpvos at 1x anyways. Plus you can always throw they on a regular hunting rifle and get pretty good low light use. Just my opinion.
Waiting to see more of this series. Helping me in my decision for an upgrade from my PA 1-6.
Coming soon. Promise
I've been sitting on an SLx 1-6 for far too long because I just can't decide what I want next. I'm thinking mid power, but still can't decide
@@LyleH-13 hopefully this series will help you out. That’s our goal here. Stay tuned!
Ayyy! We’ve been waiting for this and they delivered. Amazing job MTS team! Thank you so much!

That’s awesome. Thanks for the reply! More to come for sure.
You will be excited for the end results
I’d wait for primary arms to come out with a gen2 plx compact or even for the new NOVA lpvo with a true red dot in the middle and it’s 400$
This is rad. Really appreciate y’all doing this.
Thanks for following along so far!
Great video guys! Thanks for all the info. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks nick!

Great input! We didn’t have a 1-6 to check out, but I can’t help but to agree though. I’m impressed with the vcog so far.
Vcogs are cool. Wondering if you have tried an elcan 1.5-6 and how it stacks up to a vcog?

We may do a quick video on the ones we have here, we certainly used them a lot changing out scopes
Do you play with any of the cheaper stuff(
Very little. But we have talked about doing budget options if this goes over well enough

VCOG durability test?
We have a last video coming where we do a lot of that. We broke them down into mag levels though.
And we didn’t do any durability testing, 9 of these optics were loaned to us via our fb group.
Shame you didn't look at the Meopta Meostar R2 1-6x20.
We tried getting as much as we can. Over half of these were loaned to us by our community. Just happy to get this info out there

Is that an ignite hat?
Dual cc makes the most sense
It does make a lot of sense, but how’s it work out in practice? We’ll see….
Thank you choosing a optic is like a holster😢
Welcome. There’s really not a bad choice here, we just hoped to give enough info to help folks out. We all had our favorites though lol

They aren’t for everyone. This is one of the best collections of higher end lpvos put together for testing that I’ve seen.
