Great job! While not dirt cheap to shoot, it's not too expensive either. It's also very easy to refill in the field. It would be great if there was a way to turn the power up and down to increase shot count. Some people are complaining about costs. But I believe they are missing the point of this fantastic rifle. Most people aren't enthusiasts. They may only shoot occasionally. So they don't want to spend thousands to get started. This rifle allows them to get pcp performance at a fraction of the cost. It can still be used in the backyard for pesting, or targets. Also you avoid the rigorous hand pumping and have a totally clean air source. It's simple and effective. That means everything nowadays. Great job Umarex 👍
@@UmarexAir Thank you. I will add. The original Gauntlet was my first pcp. I purchased the 177cal because the 22cal was on backorder. I adjusted the trigger and added a 360cc bottle. Other than that it's stock. I've shot thousands of pellets through it and never had one problem with it. No leaks or loss of performance. I have more expensive PCPs now but none are more accurate and reliable than the Gauntlet. And the Ninja reg is more consistent than anything else. For the $299 bucks I spent, it's probably the best investment I've ever made.
Yes! Exactly! For me i only shoot a couple times a year and this is perfect for me. Haha i have a crossman co2 airsoft pistol and a gamo .117 break barrel pellet rifle but id like to expand my collection! And im starting to looking into pcps but an air tank and a compressor are more than i wanna deal with right now. Lol
I like this, its a good idea. It fills a void for the people who don't want to mess with a pump and you can carry cylinders with you. HOWEVER, the cost on a proprietary cylinder which isn't widely available yet is a downfall. What would be a little better is having cylinders like these for $5-$6 a cylinder OR making them refillable with a hand pump or compressor. A box of 50 rounds of .22lr is about $5 a box. This is $12 per 50 rds PLUS the pellets. If you could get it a little closer to the cost of .22lr (which isn't so cheap anymore) that would make it even more a winner in my opinion.
@@UmarexAir if you made the cylinders refillable (or offered a refillable version) for people with a pump, they could refill on their own, carry extras and if the cylinders become unavailable….they don’t have a useless gun. Because let’s face it, with those proprietary cylinders, the gun is useless. We need backup options please
Clearly the point is to lock you in to a patented, proprietary, expensive format. Someone made the comparison to printers/ink which I think is pretty appropriate. A refillable cylinder option seems obvious. A gun with the flexibility to run on refillable or disposable charges would be a killer. It should only be a matter of time before an aftermarket cylinder is avaliable, one can only hope.
@@jcraig8 you'll see other's offering the same solution in the future, so not necessarily clearly. Respect though as it might seem that way to some. And yes, refillable is ideal, agree to that when someone likes to shoot alot. Not everyone is going to do that though. Some love the idea of convenience especially when they're just occasional shooters, which as data proves is most that own pew pews of some type.
Undetermined amount of time to be real about it. We had one set for two months no issues. It's not like CO2 that creates problems with seals.. nitrogen (N2) being a stable gas lets you leave it pressurized just like you would other PCP rifles.
@@georgeloveless4176 I was pointing out the economic nonviabIity of the proposition. A couple thousand rounds downrange, and you could have gotten a compressor. (And I can't shoot my 9 mm in my attic!)
Yeah, pretty spendy for those little cylinders. I think I am going to save for a compressor. For those buy a firearm guys, I can't shoot my 308, 22 or my 223 in my backyard.
I purchased one of these to use squirrel hunting. Am I able to leave one of the nitroair tanks hooked up for extended periods of time? I may only be shooting 5-6 times in a day squirrel hunting. Can I get a week’s worth of usage out of one tank or do you guys not recommend leaving a tank installed over the course of a week or two?
Yes, no problem to leave a charged NitroAir in it. That's necessary for what you're using it for. As we worked on this project the #1 thing was that it must not leak... of course it is a mechanical device... but it's not supposed to. Thank you so much.
Great video, looks like a no fuss entry level PCP! I saw another video that said the heavy pellets shoot horribly but lighter grain patterened well. what have you found with different pellets?
At 25yds it likes a variety of pellets in the 15-18 grain range in .22... Baracuda 15s, Brimstone 18s, RWS Superfield Heavy 18s. When took to 50 yds the Baracuda performed best at that distance... was out of JSBs at the time but sure they'll perform too in that grain range. 🤠Definitely the way to go.👍👍👍 I am going to get one and experiment cutting the stock and figuring out how to put a folding one, since there are many folding stock models available. I look forward to a more powerful cartridge model: 4000 or 4500 PSI.
🤠Price of the cartridges is not an issue when you factor in the cost of a FX rifle, a compressor, a scuba tank and the fact that you are stuck at base camp to charge the rifle tank after spending three thousand dollars.👎👎😞😞 I look forward to a Umarex Komplete in .30 cal with a 4500 PSI cartridge for less than $1000. A few cartridges in my pack and am free in the woods for an extended period of time.👍👍👍
🤠Great product, a concept on the right direction 👍 It would be nice to have: 1. More power for .25 and .30 cal... and 2. A compact / small backpack AR version like the "Snowpeak CP2", AEA HP MAX, BINTAC T9, EDGUN LESHIY, HUBEN, etc. It seems different brands are catching on to the compact PCP market and Humarex has a market edge with rechargeable catridges that eliminate the need for a compressor you cant put in a backpàck or plug anywhere outdoors 🤣🤣🤣

Compared to a break barrel or under lever it cuts out the cocking effort between shots allowing a person to stay on target. Much easier to shoot. Much lighter. Compared to either, oh the convenience!
