I'm surprised it's not mandatory in all new dwellings yet, with LED lighting more reliable these days it would be easy enough to include 2 or 3 emergency lights on all floors of a house. Good info boss. 😁👍
Indeed. And one of the brightest ideas I've seen from one of the TH-cam Sparks (sorry, I forget who) is fitting an emergency light that illuminates the consumer unit. Because the damn thing is always in some particularly dark spot and you can never find a working torch when you need one.
My company has given me jobs to test emergency lighting on blocks of flats and I've found a number of failures which I've reported back , they've asked me to replace faulty units however the new ones have different fixings and some require extending mains cables , I'm not a qualified electrician and I told my company I feel uncomfortable carrying out this work , but they say you only have to be a competent person not a electrician, can you please advise me where I stand .
@@efixx I don't have any formal qualifications I've worked as a alarm engineer for many years and no I'm not being supervised , I'm booked on a 2 day course in June though .
Can you pls make a video of emergency light test switch installation
Lots of great info there Joe. Thanks. #StaySafe

Easy to fit but would they be tested or if self test will it be recorded?
What country/s does the regulatory reform...2005 document apply to?
It would be UK wide, otherwise it would have a specification in the title.

What qualifications and training do you have and who’s supervising your work?

There is a lot to take in when sorting out emergency lights as most equipment has to have an emergency light as well. The list is endless.
Only need emergency lighting if you are planning to have an emergency 🙄
Isn't an emergency, by definition, unplanned? 🤔
@@efixx can’t talk, Spanish Inquisition 👺
😂👍 Love it.
@@efixx I should have installed some emergency lighting!
@@efixx not if you plan for one ☝🏼 Hence emergency lighting 😁
