    You have a wonderful gift and a very warm way about you. Thank you for sharing. I only ever use a Canon 70-200mm but your work challenges me to be more creative.

      Hey! Thank you so much! I plan on making a video showing how I edited this session and I will talk about my camera settings for these shots in-depth, but until then I will say that my settings are generally as follows:
      ISO between 100-600
      F-stop between 1.8-3.2
      Shutter as fast as possible, haha
      I hope that helps until I get the editing video up!

      Hi Amara!!! Thank you so much. I am so glad that my video was helpful to you! For this session, I was using my Canon EOS R body and my Canon 35mm 1.4ii lens. I try to keep sessions like this pretty light equipment-wise because I know I'll likely be running around with kiddos and don't want to be encumbered by a bunch of equipment. :D Thanks again!

    Are you shooting with a prime lens or a zoom lens? What focal length? Reasoning for one over the other? Your pictures are fantastic!

    • @lillianjeanphotography6281
      @lillianjeanphotography6281  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Thomas! For this session, I used my Prime 35mm from Canon. The 35mm prime is my workhorse lens and what I use 80-90% of the time! My second favorite lens is the Sol45 by Lensbaby (I didn't use it for this session) and my third favorite lens is the Canon 100mm Macro (also not used for this session). I don't currently have any zoom lenses because traditionally a Prime lens will give you sharper focus, BUT I have rented the new RF24-70 f2.0 by Canon was blown away by it! So, in general, a prime lens should give you a sharper focus than a zoom, however, the new Canon RF series lenses are changing the game! I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! :D

    I'm just curious, is it intentional that your lens hood was on backwards during this?

    • @lillianjeanphotography6281
      @lillianjeanphotography6281  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I wouldn't say it is so necessarily intentional, as much as I didn't have a need for it in this session. When I store my camera and lens in my bag it won't fit with the lens hood turned the right way around I'll just keep it on backwards until I need to switch it around. In general, I don't mind a few sun flares or a bit of haze in my work so I don't use the lens hood as often as others might, but I do use it occasionally! Great question!

    • @lillianjeanphotography6281
      @lillianjeanphotography6281  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Joanmarie! My favorite lens is the Canon 35mm 1.4! It is what I use 90% or the time, including in this video. I've also used the Sigma 35mm which is wonderful.
