    I love how you did your bts video. I watch many that dont let you hear the photographer's directions or the clients responses. So I appreciate that about yours.

    I’m doing my first family photo shoot this Sunday and I absolutely just needed to see somebody else working with the family so I felt a little more confident in my own abilities. I’ve done several photo shoots, but no families yet! Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas and your great direction.

    I would love to know the aperture, shutter speeds and ISO for your favorite shoots and the kind of lens you used. I noticed in one clip you shared "50mm lens".
    Thank you for this information.

    Loved this. Would you share your camera settings when you take the shots of them walking? I always miss focus with those and am confused as to where to place focus.

    • @MrJkornd808
      @MrJkornd808 ปีที่แล้ว

      Place the focus on the eyes or face, make sure to keep a shutter speed of the same focal length or hight, I normally go for 200 or so, compensate for the shakes. This video was a big help for me, doing my first family photo shoot.

    Love your work noticed a lot of it is with the Nikon D610. What made you choose that camera? Thinking about picking one up instead of spending a ton of money on a new mirrorless cam

    • @selenicabruce9721
      @selenicabruce9721  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Brandon! Thank you for the kind words! I have only shot with Nikon professionally. It actually started with me buying and selling camera equipment. Because I was already using the Nikon system it was easy to buy and sell Nikon brand stuff (the lenses are also typically more expensive). With this I was able to stockpile some great equipment for low prices. If I hadn’t done this, I honestly would have switched to Canon-a 5D MIII most likely. From experience shooting with Sony, Nikon and Canon, I believe the Nikon glass to be the best/sharpest. I also LOVE Nikon colors over the others (they are less warm and less contrasty). But other than this, Nikon non-mirrorless cameras don’t compare to competitors. The other brands have much better video/AF capabilities. If you choose to go Nikon I would go mirrorless (with the future in mind) unless you are on a budget. 😊 P.S. The reason I have not upgraded to the d750 (which I had been seriously considering) is because of the way the screen is designed. It is nice that the screen folds up, but because of this you cannot put a full plastic screen cover over it like the d610, it would be more likely to break. I am currently saving up to go mirrorless.

      So this location was set up and owned by a lady who opened it specifically for photographer to take their clients. Her goal was to eventually make the property into a wedding venue. I think a wedding or two took place in that forest area.
