  • The video is self explanatory but here’s what I’m like when I’m “switched off.” I wanted to determine if any of my symptoms were being caused by the meds - something that’s entirely possible. #parkinsonsdisease #youngonsetparkinsons #menshealth #parkinsons #men #parkinson #dopamine #mentalhealth #symptoms #anxiety

I can confirm. I did this too. Without the medication, it feels like gravity has been turned up to 10x's normal and you move like a sloth. Extremely frustrating wanting to move and nothing works.

I am from trinadad had surgery 20 days ago the nurses did not know about parkinson's disease so I was treated badly I think all nurses should learn about parkinson's diseases

Agreed. You are spot on. I had similar experience before my diagnosis 15 years ago. It was a rough stretch to say the least, before they figured out I had P.D..

Hey, at least you can stand and walk without meds. My husband is 44 and he can't move well. Even on the medication. It tends to not even work most of the day. It is very odd. Finally, we got our hands on the medication rytary. I'm praying it makes a difference because he has not been able to walk for a couple weeks now

I was diagnosed in Novv 2017. Haven’t taken the meds specifically for PD. I do take two yellow diazepam, four pregab red capsules, Four amatryptaline blue. One quitiopine beige, zopiclone two 7.5 white, one high dose mitazipine white and 15 ml methadone. I take all at once and am out of it four 12 hrs. My advice would be to ask for the diazepam it acts both as a muscle relaxant and acute anxiety, which is a life saver with Parkinson’s. Ask Gp for a strong painkiller, don’t be fobbed off with tramadol, ask for pregabalin for excruciating pain, for deep seated depression ask for mitazpine. Lack of sleep ask for zopiclone. Be persistent as gp’s can be dismissive. The Gp will prescribe a low dose initially, remember you can always up your dosage . Due to my combination, th Surgery will not issue fentanyl patches . These. really are the creme de la creme of pain relief. So if your pain is off the richter and you have a Parkinson’s Nurse do all you can in your power to have daily Fentanyl patches. You deserve to be pain free.. You really really do. Good luck😊

Apparently it’s a license for my wife to attack me daily.
Are there any other diseases where the patient attacks the caregiver?

Sadly this can occur with some forms of dementia. I don’t know your situation of course and I’m genuinely sorry you are experiencing this. This is far less common in young onset Parkinson’s which is what I’m focussing on.

Talk with you doc about getting her on some antidepressant / It may take about a month to notice the result. It has helped with a family member I have . I hope there is relief available for you both. Please speak to your neurologist about your concerns ASAP.

Me too, tried them twice and felt like crap. I have relied on exercise to slow progression, still in stage 1 after 6 years. 10 days ago I went on a full carnivore diet, Meat only and saw regression of some tremors after 2 days. Extreme fatigue has vanished, balanced has started to improve, voice has gotten stronger, I can put in my eye meds by myself now. My physical strength has improved along with loosing 8 lbs. Look at Dr. Ken Berrys videos on the carnivore diet. Its worth a try.

A lot of medications do have side effects so talk to your doctor about your symptoms

Of course. This is to illustrate the distinction in Parkinson’s of “on” time and “off”time.

I am on sinemet and madopar. Doc recommended Rotary seems to be a combination pile. Quick release part, slower, slower part. For the meds to dissolve and act at different times.
I do more research on this before considering it.
I also eat light in the morning and do my bulk later in the evening when done for the day.
Knowing protein in foods can block effectiveness of the ldopa.
