@@orb3062 if you're still having trouble I recommend doing barre chords at lower frets first as a standard f barre chord on the first fret is more difficult

You should probably begin with like "creep" from radiohead for your first barre chord song. I feel like this is a great song to play to develop your barre skills, but a little bit to challenging for your first song.

Cheers Andy, a quick word about how to achieve the tone would help a lot of beginners
Get a strat, bridge pickup, plug it into a decent amp and play it well. Each of those components matters equally
@@andycrowley I meant in terms of eq or pedals to use. But the mids/trebble/bass. I know all amps are different but a good starting off point would always be appreciated
@@pads-zr9ln Well for this tone you'd want something that can emulate an orange amp. This tone was achieved on the record with an HSS strat, od2 I believe and a 15w orange amplifier.That clean tone is very indicative of an orange amp, they also tend to handle gain really well.
Setting comes through practice. Yes it would be great if I just said I.e Blues jr means volume at 5 bass 4 mids 6 treble 7....
But it's never the same for every rig, pickups , amps, pedals and as andy mentioned the tone yout fingers produce all impact this.
But really all you need for this tone is any amp that does a decent clean, bring it up to the edge of break up, roll back volume on your strat for the clean stuff. Flick to bridge and throw on some kind of distortion (not overdrive). You'd want probably a bit of reverb and a touch of delay
It's a good idea to learn how to find a solid tone on an amp yourself because it allows you more tools in your toolkit. That way if you have a tone in your head you can find it without hoping there's a random thread with all the settings.
I'd recommend a Spark amp. They have thousands of presets so you could just type artic monkeys and find the tone, but it also has tons of amps and pedals you can mess around with. It also takes exterior pedals really well in my experience.
The more you practice the more you'll figure out what you want to sound like. It's been a fun ride for me so far.

Haha it’s not an issue atall!!! It threw me for a good 5 seconds! I know the chords anyway, so I just thought it was your mistake until I saw the note floating around as you moved! Then realised it was your button!
