Buy all buildings and just take your time, dont race to complete the main questline. This way you can let your rent rack up to 6.8 million or so. Or just trade from your alternate character.

Have your main character open, then using your other controller, you open up your other save and have the character in that save join your main as a co-op player. Then using your other save, gift your main one some (or all) gold, or other items if you so wish. Hope that makes sense.
