Amazing shade tree work! I did this process about the exact same size and scope as you did but much much less efficient. I’m about to undergo this same process very soon and am very happy to have these new tips and tricks!
A truly gifted fellow, fabrication/welding skills far outshine most in my humble estimation plus you educate entertain & amuse all in one & the music choice, well - just the cherry on the icing ! brilliant and unique format, if some talent scout bothered to notice you could/should have a TV series.
Don’t cut yourself short on the welding. That’s way better than I expected to see and then a fine job at grinding it smooth. I give 8/10 you’ll get the last 2 when you get some shoes!!!
Good to see that I did something similar to this on my first try. You did grind the welds down though, I did not. I cold welded the first plate I put on since I couldn't figure the welder out, but I left gaps inbetween each plate in order to make it "burn thru" either way. Jumped on it, lifted the car underneath just to double sure and it seems tight. What's your process on removing other rust around the area? Rust remover/converter + flapdisc? I mean the rust that didn't need to get cut out.
I’ve watched this particular video around 3/4 times now since I’m going to repair a bit of floorpan om my 740. Nothing really bad but a little bit of rust on the drivers footwell where the framerail is. Got any tips regarding the framerail? 😬
Not really, aside from what's in the video. I talk more about the frame rail area in the video after this one. Just make sure the inside of the rail is nice and sealed up too
Damn this video is actually very well put together and more entertaining than other car vids, love the classical music. Definitely funny
Thanks for the support!
I haven’t been this exited to watch a TH-cam video in years. You make my stomach hurt from laughing every single video.
+1
The background music certainly underscored the epic struggle to prevail against the powers of rust and rot... pun intended!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Happy to have you here! Hopefully the videos only get more informative and entertaining as I develop my skills!
