    Overall smarter move is to go with hybrid elantra. The engine of the insight with the CVT is an absolute ear sore when you accelerate, the elantra is also more quite in the cabin and has a real smooth auto transmission. The exterior styling on the elantra is also edgy and stands out on the road.

      Unfortunately for Honda, the noise of the CVT inside the cabin is loud as fuck and it has a very odd pitch, almost as if there is something wrong mechanically even though there is isn't. Additionally, they decibel sound meter in the Honda is almost 30% louder to make matters worse. Why did they not make more of an effort to sound dampen especially with their loud CVT??? Makes no sense. This is what turned me off mainly. The Hyundai has a smooth automatic 6 speed, and its quiet on the inside. They both have very fast 0 to 60 mph (for a hybrid) times 7.3 for Honda and 7.5 for hyundai. Honda does look visually appealing though in a more traditional way. They're are both nice but in the USA the Elantra is also a few thousand cheaper.

    I bought a Honda Insight in 2018. After driving I was getting nervous and was losing consciousness and strength in my right hand. I complained to the dealer and Honda company in California but they did not listen. While driving I was getting unconscious, called an ambulance, and had to check the cause, but they couldn’t find any heart trouble or brain trouble or tumors, etc. But later a friend who is an engineer told me that this kind of car is health hazardous. I found out that many have complained about Honda cars for the same problems in the past. After I kept complaining, the Honda dealer asked me to come and promised to change the car. When I went to get another car, he took away 8000 dollars from the faulty car to take it back and sold the other car for more than the price. They never confessed that Honda Insight is a faulty mode and has been discontinued many, many times in the past. I was very hurt. I thank God that I survived, even though they cheated and lied to me. They also wanted me to sell the car to someone, but I couldn’t. I love others as I love myself. I was collapsing. Then how can I give to others? I told them that dishonesty will not bring blessings. But they were so cruel and did not listen, seeing I was a senior and a woman they took advantage of me. They never write when I complain but only talk on the phone. We purchase laws to protect, but we cannot purchase righteous God. Plus, he doesn't care if you are Honda or Toyota. He will fight my battle. I am a missionary living with little income and this giant Honda stole my money, but I tell you my God will give me sevenfold plus back.

    DO NOT BUY THIS FUCKING LEMON!!!!!
    I purchased the 2022 Insight Touring package three weeks ago. I purchased it for a daily driver and for road trips around Oregon, specifically to Mt Hood where my family has a tiny ski cabin.
    With guests in the vehicle, it is unable to achieve and maintain highway speeds without the engine redlining with any more than one person in the car. It can barely make it up the 2-3% graded area, and I was terrified to try the 6% graded area. It felt INCREDIBLY unsafe and underpowered. My brother and I both thought something was slipping. The engine revs dramatically and almost no power is sent to the wheels.
    I have no idea how I can use it to carpool. If you know the Portland area, it struggles to get up the west hills of through the tunnel up to Skyline on the way to Beaverton with just me (155 lbs). If I had two people or more in the car, I would feel horribly unsafe.
    I took it to the shop and they said it was working as designed. This is completely unacceptable!
    If you live in a completely flat area or only drive on city streets, yeah it will probably be fine. If you have any hills whatsoever, you are fucked.

    • @ronbotex
      @ronbotex 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I spent a lot of time on the Insight owners forums, like gen3insight before I bought mine. It is not good choice if you have lots of hilly terrain or if you do lots of freeway driving over 70mph. Hybrids in general are optimal for city/suburban driving and freeway driving 65mph or less. I fit that profile and am averaging 53.5 mpg with about 1600 miles on the car. You could probably sell it now for close to what what you bought it for given the demand for used cars at greatly inflated prices. Sport mode might help you a bit going up hills. Its not a lemon but not a good choice for the type of driving you do.

    • @igotanimac1
      @igotanimac1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just drive the speed limit, which is usually 55-65 MPH. Did you test drive before purchasing? If you're used to going up hills faster than necessary or over 65 MPH on the highway, I'd recommend a 2.5L 4 cylinder with less fuel mileage but more power.
