I honestly don’t think she wanted any of the kids in the business. Had Lorenzo not gotten locked up, she not the kids would be that involved in the business. Their kids were the only ones they could “trust” so Monet had to bring them in, the mother role seals the deal for compliance and obedience. Caine wants to be the king pin in his own operation, he’s in for life. Drew wants no parts but feels guilty for being gay and his involvement gives him the street credit he wouldn’t have otherwise. Diana only wants to help her father get out, she wants a family and school. Zeke wants to play basketball for himself, not for everybody looking for him to take care of them. He’s really lost. Carrie was good for him despite the unethical behavior of her sleeping with a student. She’s the only one that tells him things and doesn’t talk about basketball and how it will benefit her. Carrie is doing all the things as a mother that Monet doesn’t with him. Monet is not only mad at Carrie for talking to the police but for doing all the things she wants to for her child.
So now we know why Monet protects Zeke so hard. Brayden is gonna learn the hard way not to mess with Cane. He did a jewelry heist with no gloves or mask. He helped Cane rob a stash house(getaway drivers do time too) and move a body. He’s doing way too much to try to be down lol. I guess it’s good he’s a Weston because that name is probably the only thing that will save him.

Also because the Westons and McSweeny’s built Stansfield with old blue blood hood ole boy white money which we know is tied to corruption.
I think Effie is going to have feelings for Diana and take her virginity. The way she kept looking at her when they were shopping and did that long pause before she was like Diana should do it with somebody special. Plus I think the director wanted us to see that girl on girl scene with Effie to let us know that she's into women. So they can ease that storyline in with Effie and Diana

I don’t think he’s slow. He’s the stereotypical athlete. Monet paid Davis $1M for something she could have done for free, be a mother and protect her son. Teach him how to handle these types of situations, specifically press and legal. He only cares about sports, doesn’t take anything else serious. Athletes are pressured at a young age and the more success they have the more pressure. Everybody tells him what to do 24/7 for their benefit. He doesn’t make any of his own decisions. This is a very real issue that is common. He isn’t “dumb” with Carrie because she doesn’t try to control him and listens. He was mad as hell for Monet threatening her and trying to break them up. She was an attorney for the state before teaching. Sleeping with a student is already bad enough and is going to screw up her life but the fact that she prosecuted for the state the same kinds of crimes she is involved with is going to make it extremely brutal. The business was good and Zeke’s basketball career only helps cover up the dirt and makes them more money. Lorenzo is his stepfather, he is going to use that against Mecca, because technically Lorenzo is his uncle that served as his “dad” even though Lorenzo wasn’t really trying to do that, it would be easy to manipulate Zeke. I really want Zeke to live his own life. Stay in school for the extra year, do some soul searching and brush up on his legal rights and learn how to protect himself in bad situations, even date Carrie, the relationship was unethical in the beginning but I see them being good for each other. I think Carrie will go back to practicing Law. She helped students like Zeke back then but the shady stuff got the best of her, this could be her redemption

I was initially thinking Kane was Mecca and Monet's love child, but I was thrown for a loop to discover Zeke is said lovechild. Zeke has to be older than Kane, but that would be too simple of a storyline. I do know that when everyone finds out it's going to rock their family in so many ways. This was my favorite episode this season.
I need to find out am I tripping. I could have sworn Lorenzo said he only wanted his blood taking over, Drew, not Caine. He even had Caine beat up when he visited him in jail. Monet only resents Caine because he wants the power and began acting reckless. She wanted him to takeover. It makes sense for Lorenzo to go along with the nephew story and not admit that his wife has a child by another gangster while they are married and this child possibly being conceived just before or at the beginning of his incarceration.

Those lecture questions in class are very powerful and relate to every scene. She will definitely “help” until her conscience gets to her and then she will wash her hands with it if it gets crazy and that includes informing authorities. It’s basically Annalise Keating and the kids all over again. Lauren is the Michaela Pratt. Michaela was going to snitch day 1 but they talked her out of it, and she stayed and got involved, she regretted it at the end and ultimately snitched to save herself. Now most of us were mad because Keating protected those kids for years but at the same time she put them in the situation from the beginning.

They can’t keep legitimate lawyers around because of the drug game, a legitimate lawyer would have helped in the beginning, Rivera as a dirty cop would have helped in the short term but not the long run. As you can see, he’s dead and they lost a huge life line and now Davis’ is filling in. All that dirty work and covering up by Thirsty Thurston cost Cookie and Lucious the whole Empire, which they gained back by righting some of the wrongs that were covered up.

She’s in a lot of trouble and danger. That was a safe place despite it normally being the worst place. She can’t be seen in public with him. The scandal and murders not to mention his face as just entering the draft is plastered everywhere especially after that bad interview. The detective wants to expose her because he’s bitter about their breakup and all it would take is 1 sighting of them together and he gets that easily.
I figured out that Zeke was Monet’s child this episode when her kids kept making comments about how she treats him better and always goes hard for him. But I was shocked by Dante/Mecca being his dad. We need all their ages so we can do the math.

She was an attorney for the state before teaching. Sleeping with a student is already bad enough and is going to screw up her life but the fact that she prosecuted for the state the same kinds of crimes she is involved with is going to make it extremely brutal. I think she will do right by Zeke, they are in love. He definitely needs somebody like her and vice versa. She isn’t out to get anything from him, talks to him about his feelings and helps him. Zeke, if he chose too, because of his athlete status and soon to be NBA status, is just as powerful as the detective, Jabari and Rashad Tate, and he isn’t going to use that power to lord over her nor play games to manipulate her like they all do.

She held the business down the whole time while in jail and he still made decisions and didn’t respect her fully. He is going to take away her independence and freedom. 2nd, now Mecca her long lost love and father of her oldest Zeke is back and she has a chance of real love (been searching) 😂😂😂, and it ain’t in prison with Lorenzo.

The business was good and Zeke’s basketball career only helps cover up the dirt and makes them more money. Lorenzo is his stepfather, he is going to use that against Mecca, because technically Lorenzo is his uncle that served as his “dad” even though Lorenzo wasn’t really trying to do that, it would be easy to manipulate Zeke. I really want Zeke to live his own life. Stay in school for the extra year, do some soul searching and brush up on his legal rights and learn how to protect himself in bad situations, even date Carrie, the relationship was unethical in the beginning but I see them being good for each other. I think Carrie will go back to practicing Law. She helped students like Zeke back then but the shady stuff got the best of her, this could be her redemption

I was initially thinking Kane was Mecca and Monet's love child, but I was thrown for a loop to discover Zeke is said lovechild. Zeke has to be older than Kane, but that would be too simple of a storyline. I do know that when everyone finds out it's going to rock their family in so many ways. This was my favorite episode this season.
I need to find out am I tripping. I could have sworn Lorenzo said he only wanted his blood taking over, Drew, not Caine. He even had Caine beat up when he visited him in jail. Monet only resents Caine because he wants the power and began acting reckless. She wanted him to takeover. It makes sense for Lorenzo to go along with the nephew story and not admit that his wife has a child by another gangster while they are married and this child possibly being conceived just before or at the beginning of his incarceration.

It’s basically Annalise Keating and the kids all over again. Lauren is the Michaela Pratt. Michaela was going to snitch day 1 but they talked her out of it, and she stayed and got involved, she regretted it at the end and ultimately snitched to save herself. Monet feels that out of the 4 kids, she has done him “right” by not putting him in the game and making sure he stayed out of trouble and gets into the NBA. When he went off on her she didn’t silence him or slap him like she would have the other 3. He was right. He did exactly what she told him to do and NEVER tells him anything. She knew he was right and she knew she is the blame. He told her he wasn’t ready for the NBA and wanted to give it 1 more year. He needed it physically and mentally. With the help of Tariq and Carrie he would have been prepared for the other important part of being a professional athletes, which is PRESS especially scandals and criminal activities, not to mention finances. He took control of his life back a little by walking off the TV set. He realized once again information was being with held from him and used against him. This is very true of a great number of professional athletes. It’s a story that needs to be told and begin the remedy process. They can’t keep legitimate lawyers around because of the drug game, a legitimate lawyer would have helped in the beginning, Rivera as a dirty cop would have helped in the short term but not the long run. As you can see, he’s dead and they lost a huge life line and now Davis’ is filling in. All that dirty work and covering up by Thirsty Thurston cost Cookie and Lucious the whole Empire, which they gained back by righting some of the wrongs that were covered up.
