New subsciber here! Gas and kerosene are becoming more and more expensive in Nigeria, so I started looking efficient ways of cooking with firewood and I found the rocket stove. I found your channel when I was searching for how to light a rocket stove and I found your information enlightening, even if I would prefer not to light it with a fuel tablet. I've been using rendered animal fat to light firewood fires, so I guess it would be perfect for rocket stove.
No that should be just fine. While I've never built that type of air inlet myself. I have seen many other rocket stove designers use that configuration. Keep us updated and let us know how it went. Or better yet, send us a video link!
I couldn't tell you. This fire gets so hot and it burns the ash down to a fine powder. The ash typically just blows out the top. I've ran these for 45 mins straight with no problems.
I've cooked fried bananas. Made a garden to table stir fry. Cooked eggs and fried bacon. Grilled cheese sandwiches. Really, you can cook anything you want. Skillet surface temperatures reach up to 420 degrees F.
hey thanks for sharing... my pants used to be almost all with gusseted crotch. I'm really curious... would you mind sharing what those pants you were wearing are? thnx
@@steelforestweldingandforge lol... I hear that!... theyre not getting easier to come by ... Im down to 2 or 3 pairs... 1 royal robbins and 1 mountain hardwear.. thank you
Thank you for watching and commenting to help the algorithm. Just wanted to add a small bit of advice. I would personally add the kindling first, then attempt to light it. :)
Nothing wrong with fire starters. Anything that starts the fire is good. The easier the better. Only a fool glued to his mother's couch would criticize the method of starting the fire.
I like that there is minimal smoke, the lack of smoke makes it stealthy Stealth is good in SHTF type of climate.
Makes it a lot more considerate too when you're in a packed urban environment. Don't have to worry about smoking out your neighbors

thx for subscribing, glad you found it interesting
Cool, thank you. I built one and put the air inlet on bottom on the opposite side of feed tube is that bad?

Had to say it, the way he talks reminds me of the DMV workers on Zootopia..
😂😂😂
Great video though!
@@ColdBrewsNBBQs I've heard people say.. I sound like ned flanders, but never like this.
Got me a rocket stove and solar stove as a backup for SHTF.
I always have one handy just in case
Would you mind sharing the dimensions of the long side of each of those three tubes? I'm also assuming that that is 3 in x 3 inch square tube.
Thanks
nice little stove!
Thank you! I've put a lot of time, energy, and love into my design.
How long will that burn for before the ash fills up the tube and kills the airflow?

Step 1- light it
Step 2 - add kindling

My rocket stove's air inlet points down
That's the beauty to these stoves, they are highly customizable.
Firestarter defeats the object of having a rocket stove.
By that logic, having a TH-cam account without videos defeats the purpose of having a TH-cam account
@@steelforestweldingandforgeBy the same login owning a brothel in Calcuta without tasting the product defeat the purpose right 😬

Very top heavy = very dangerous.
Bad design.
I address this concern in another one of my videos. It's a very stable design.
You sound a little bit like Ned Flanders.
