  • I just finished building this stove and thought I would do a video to show how it runs,

    More baffles means more smoke coming up through hopper which means there's not quite enough air draft running through, moving that plate off created the correct amount of draft (bypassed the baffles). The box underneath would be good for oven. Lose the baffles :-)

      La leña genera mucho ollin bajo la plancha . La mia tiene una entrada bajo la plancha para limpiarla y quitarle el ollin o tizne y caliente bien . Gracias por tu aporte.

    Great great idea suggestion how about you take the second half of that griddle and close it 7 inches high or 10 inches high and put a door on the front OVEN WOODFIRED OVEN THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS!

    All the food surfaces could have been stainless and there’s a griddle

    If you increase the length of the chimney then the hot plate will get even hotter.

    I LOVE IT!
    2 suggestions:
    1, with the pot stand, make one with a slightly smaller base, and have it sit right into where the removable plate comes out.
    2, turn the fuel shoot 90 degrees, to come out the end, and that would be more convenient for when you are cooking.

    It should have no baffles at all, you’re stopping the smoke to vent out.

      You are right.. I f😁cked up. I fixed it in a later video and it goes great now.

    Hi, just found your channel, I love this idea, did you make a box oven/pasty warmer and howdid it work? I would love to add the hotplate to my rocket stove.

    It's looking like the flow is choked by the hot plate. Gas flow isn't exactly proportional to cross-sectional area and the baffles won't help. I think making the plate channel a lot thicker might remedy this and still allow you to keep the baffles. Great idea though.

      You were exactly right. I have now changed it like you said and it works much better, thanks

    When the interior of that hot plate gets plugged up with creosote how are you planning to clean it? Because of your baffles you can’t get a brush or a rod through it? You might want to redesign so the ends come off and maybe rethink the baffles? Bring the heat up in the middle and put two chimneys on itwith removable plates therefore you can eliminate the baffles and you can get a brush or a rod in there to clean it❤️‍🔥🇺🇸

    Nice job. I thought about making something similar. You might make the burner riser just stay attached and swing away. Your warming box might be good for pizza as well. All the best

    Is the cross sectional area constant all the way through the system? Asking as chimney looks to be a smaller diameter.
    I built one almost identical 5 years ago. Still using it to heat living room, cook on and make hot water . Yes it is inside chimney to outside. Costs almost nothing to run. Great now power and fuel prices are going through the roof it's a real winner.
    Cheers Mic Don

      I'm thinking of making a few changes. Making the volume of the chamber beneath the hot plate larger to allow more air flow. And remove the useless baffles.

    If you're going to use baffels as you described I advise makin hot plate 3 inches thick and use 2 or 3 at best baffels make heat cris-cross to each other with guides on the baffels & then make top plate suck all exhaust to exit chimney, even if cook lid is off.

    @haskoahrendt5606 ปีที่แล้ว

    You need a higher chimney ... that's why you don't have a good fire and so much smoke 😉

  • @opmacace523

    Too many baffles right now you should fix it with a higher smoke stack

    Beautiful machine sir! Not a suggestion at all but I just wanted to mention that all that rebar is acting as a heatsink. That does slow down the draw and if the volume of the hot plate is less than the intake volume, that'll really choke the system. But clearly your unit rips plenty!

      Very good impressed. You are losing the chimney effect by the horizontal plate . Hot air less dense the longer the vertical tube is the greater the head of pressure.. A narrow tube going across diagonally to bottom of the chimney should initiate the chimney.

    How long to boil water on this stove Geeman?

    • @Gee-Man-Adventures
      @Gee-Man-Adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It all depends on the wood. If you use lots of small sticks it takes a few minutes. If you use larger pieces the heat is not so much and everything takes longer.
