Take the actuator off while noting it’s position. Clean the valve with brake cleaner, both hinges and then dose it with WD-40. Make sure the actuator works with ease and remount to test. The OEM valve has some resistance but should move easily. If this doesn’t work or you don’t buy another exhaust, a valve delete kit (cheap) can be installed and then the valve will be left fully open all the time.

I had this issue when my car was basically brand new (6months old). A software update at Ford and it hasn't been back since (5.5 years so far)

Mine does the same, you can get an exaust flap delete off ebay, I am going to get one, they look easy enough to fit.

Them errors caused by sticking exhaust valve flap , a had that a couple of years back, just sprayed wd40 down the exhaust on the flap, not had errors or issues since, as soon as I start up I always select sport mode anyway & start stop off……….😁

    Hi
I use copper grease spray on the left and right hand side of the valve works fine now.

Hi bud, I've got the exact same issue however I've got a full scorpion exhaust system with the motor on the flap like the standard system. I've bought the flap delete which tricks the system into having the flap open all the time however still not installed it so can't confirm or deny if that is the fix that is needed. Also since owning, when my lights are switched on to automatic and adaptive every now and then my right headlight flips all the way to the right causing it to freeze in that position until I come to a stop, to which the headlights then reset themselves. I'm wondering if that is a causation of the lights on the dashboard along with the exhaust flap. Have you had any of the issues I've said and also have you got any solutions as of yet ?
Keep up the good work bud!

I haven’t noticed anything with the lights I’ll definitely look into that, I tried an valve delete plug and that didn’t sort it. So still unsure as to the problem. Having got it fixed yet due to work commitments will release a video when I get it fixed. Thanks for watching 👌

Hello Scott, sore that you’ve not been able to drive the focus for a while. Ive had the issue once but it was resolved with the software update. I currently have the Remus exhaust system purchased though Ford as it preferred this to the mountune one. If you are going down the sports cat route then I can recommend the miltek. Checkout my you tube channel for how the Remus sounds. 👍🏻
