Are most of the music students who take performance far beyond diploma standard? I'm thinking about a piano diploma fingers crossed on what i get for grade 8. I just play for fun though, studying music isn't really for me haha. Great insightful video!
Hey Anon Nemos, There certainly are lots of people who have taken their diploma prior to Oxford, but also many who haven't! Diploma is not a requirement for performance - people may be around that standard but not necessarily when they start. It's easy to forget how much we all develop in just weeks at Oxford so people who came here grade 8 may be diploma level now. There are masterclasses for students taking or considering taking performance throughout the year and so concerns over technical level will definitely be discussed then and personal tutors also advise on an individual basis.
