To night owls: I used to be exactly that person who goes to sleep at 4 am until some things forced me to get up at that time (not super frequently, but still). Before that I thought it impossible to wake up so early. But I found out that waking up at 4 or 5 am is actually so much easier for me than say at 7 or 8. I have a theory, that it's easier precisely because 4am is still kind of night time, so it actually doesn't interfere that much with being a night owl because you still get a few hours without sun and people. At least that is how it works for me. But the most important thing - I get SO MUCH done in such days it's insane when compared to other days. @@kubradonmez5497 Not true at all! If you study law, you're better off reading once, creating revision cards as you go so that you can do active recall (learn by testing yourself) and spaced repetition (continuously testing yourself over long intervals). Re-reading has been proven to be a less effective technique when revising, you are simply wasting time. Ive been doing this since Alevels and its worked wonders for me! Its an approach a lot of medical students also use. You should try it, it will cut the amount of work you have to do in half! Why work hard when you can work smart? Sidenote: it always baffles me how schools never seem to prioritise teaching students the best ways to learn, and retain information. If I knew the techniques I know now, I'd have saved myself hours of time in high school. Should be compulsory classes early on teaching kids how to revise properly!
Well I’m law student as well and i study each subject 3 times, one time reading it like a magazine, sec time studying and focusing on it, third time memorizing and underlining to remember the imp notes , it helps a lot

Thank you! I try to take little breaks during the day to make sure I don't lose focus! Using the app Forest helped me a lot because it makes you work for a certain time and then you know you've earned your break time!
I went to a Canadian law school. While I didn't get up at 4 do to readings, I did get up at 5 to get to the library and do readings before class. Reasons for this are 1) knowing your productive time and 2) the sheer amount of readings you do with a full course load in law school. It comes with the territory!
I never used to like getting up early (defo not a morning person), however, ever since starting third year I've become quite fond of waking up early, going to the gym and getting started on my uni work by 10am (this is a big difference to my first two years where I would really work until past lunchtime). I then enjoy finishing my work earlier and having more down time in the evenings and getting more sleep! Even though I don't think I could get up at 4/5 am, 6:30am is defo early enough for me! X
What made you change? I currently have an awful sleeping pattern and would love to become a morning person as I feel it would make me so much more of a productive person
Sophie a friend of mine made it clear to me that changes like this - going from a night owl to a morning person - is totally possible and its a change that you can make suddenly , it’s just that often times we don’t wanna make those changes so we sort of hold ourselves back. To start waking up earlier you have to change what you do at night, that means changing your schedule so that you finish what u need to do earlier or just stopping yourself even if u haven’t finished your to do list or whatever. It’s a hard change but it’s completely possible.
Sophie I knew going into third year the work load would be too much if I didn't structure my time abit better than I had been before - as for getting up early, I just decided to try it one day and see how I felt, even though I was super tired I ended up naturally going to bed earlier due to my sleepiness and it naturally became my routine. What I usually do is stop working around 5/6 (depending on what I am doing), make my dinner and have an hour or so just to chill, read a book or watch Netflix or something, then I go to bed usually around 9:30pm/10pm and try to wake up around 6:30...sometimes it best just to try it and see how you feel because you never know!!
Hey Elena, very inspiring video! I really thought long and hard about studying law after I finished school and it´s still in the back of my mind. Obviously, studying law at Cambridge is such am amazing achievement! I hope that everything goes well for you and that you never forget to also take enough time out to take care of your mental health. I bet that´s pretty hard considering the massive workload. I have just started my youtube channel and will be spending a semester at the University of Birmingham starting in September so I can´t wait to get to experience one of England´s universities first hand.
Respect. Law is dry, uninteresting and not that intellectually challenging. Which makes it all the more impressive that you have the drive and possibly a long term goal that makes you work so hard. You’ll do good! *woops literally the first video, i soon got recommended a video detailing your mental breakdown some months later from this one. Well, you still got this! I can’t imagine being motivated to put time in something like law, so you must have some innate strength and deeper motivation. Keep going if it’s still what you want or indeed whatever you find you want in life presently.

Going to the library this early seems so peaceful. My library opens at 9 am and closes 6pm sharp.
I wish I was a morning person! I find myself doing all my most focused work at 2am hehe
Here we see a morning person in it’s natural habitat.
Wow, I really admire your ambition! I would not be able to do a fraction of your workload so I am just another super impressed stranger. I hope (and am sure) you will reach all your goals and wish you all the best :)
I’d feel so scared being in a library alone at like 4:30 am so all respect for you for being that dedicated xx
Life is always with so many challenges but the haven is lying behind them! I am happy to see you doing better
This is so me 10 years ago my dear. Im from malaysia and studied in ireland and got my medical degree. I used to sleep at 10 ish and wake up by 4.30 to study 😊
@Paavani Mysore discipline is key, revision, ward rounds & having good seniors to support you. U must have the passion to do medicine.
Really happy to see that you’re doing better!! Also really digging the outfit:)
Thank you so much🤗
I'm a law aspirant, and you blog fueled me up with so much positive energy and excitement 😍 God bless you❤️ you're super inspiring😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗
1:35 did I just witness Azkaban ??
I love how at @6:22 in your hour of "downtime" you begin writing a blog post. Thanks for your video - inspired!
You know what's the peak of the uni life? Having lectures from 8 AM to 8 PM lol
I would literally just stare at all the architecture and gilded doors and the library. It would be heaven.
So excited for your new vlog! Glad you're back🥰
Her: Wakes up at 4
Me: Staying awake at 4
4am? Omg girl i wake up at 5 and feel still sleepy in the Afternoon. You go girl💜
The enthusiasim of being a university student. I miss this version of myself
Girl same 😔
Ahhhhhhh your skin is looking so clear and glowy, I love that for you 🥺
Sleeping at 4 makes me realise that she is actually waking up when I’m falling asleep lol
At uni whilst I was living in the halls of accommodation I would get up at 11:05 for a 11:15 lecture. I hate myself
Maybe getting up at 4 AM wasn't a joke but I hope that duck alarm clock was 😂😂
Did you actually speed read while reading the book?
i noticed that you´re reading with your pen thats actually
recommended for speed reading, just curious
3:45 uuh I think I'll start doing the same, after every hour of reading I take extremely long breaks, maybe I'll be able to concentrate more if I switch to taking notes after a while.
I miss libraries, it was a lot easier to not get distracted in libraries
I’d love you to do a video about how you note take, revise, study etc. 😍❤️
Hi! Thank you for the video idea - I’m planning to do a video about my notes soon!
I'm so relieved to find that I'm not the only one who goes to bed super early. Every day, I wake up at 5am and go to bed at 9pm.
She accomplishes more before she leaves her room than I do in an entire day!
Me, an American nursing student who lived on campus in a tiny ass freshman dorm, seeing your room: *shocked pikachu face*
Cambridge and Oxford are the two hardest university’s to get into in the UK. The rooms are huge because there aren’t many people that actually get in 😂

It’s really weird seeing your footage from inside because I live relatively near Cambridge and have only seen it from the outside.
I was looking for some motivation and this video worked !! Thank you so much for sharing this vlog :)
Omg, I am really impressed. You work so hard. How do you manage to stay focused so many hours and not get tired? You have.so much energy and are so productive
Thank you! I try to take little breaks during the day to make sure I don't lose focus! Using the app Forest helped me a lot because it makes you work for a certain time and then you know you've earned your break time!
Elena Handtrack Hey may I ask how you take notes on your computer? I usually just use word but the way your notes are structured looks really nice
laura marrero fabian I use Forest too it's great 🥰
I’m a law student from another country. When you say “7 pages of note.. could’ve done little more.” I felt that.
Competitive me: I'm waking at 4am after this!
Also me at 4am: Stop it, alarm!
Me next morning: Geez, not for me.
I have just started my youtube channel and will be spending a semester at the University of Birmingham starting in September so I can´t wait to get to experience one of England´s universities first hand.
when this gets recommended to me right after i finish radio silence........
I need you to make a video on how you take notes on Pages! They look so organized.
Coming soon🤗
@@ElenaHandtrack ❤️❤️❤️ thanks
So happy to see you back
I'm wondering what app do you use to take notes, they look so organised!
"So I woke up at 4am"
Me: immediately no.
looks like hogwarts😍🥰
Selina H. Yh
Yeah it does look like a castle too
You inspire me. You're so productive.
Loved this ! Made me miss my time in Cambridge even more.
You are such an inspiration! I wish I were as productive as you are, I will try my best for sure!
Wishing you the very best in your new semester and take good care of yourself! 🌹
Thank you🤗
I've noticed some of the ivy league students' videos of "a day of my life" started with them waking up before sunrise 😂
