This performance was amazing. It used to be my favorite live performance of hers but that's officially been bumped after her performance at the Chicago All Star Weekend Tribute for Kobe Bryant!! She was SOOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZINGLY PERFECT during that performance!!!

JENNIFER HUDSON IS AMAZING. THE DELIVERY, TONE, EMOTION , DEPTH AND HER VOCAL CONTROL WAS DELIVERED WITH ABSOLUTE GRACE AND QUALITY. THE PAUSES AT PARTS OF THE SONGS JUST SHOWED HER SHEER BROKENESS , HER NUANCES WERE IN LINE WITH THE MESSAGE OF THE SONG ,I LOVED HER INCORPORATION OF THE GROWL AT THE UPPER BELT , SHOWED HER EMPHASIS ON DICTION. HER USE OF VOWELS AND SYLLABIFICTION WAS EXCELLENT !!!!! IT WAS ALMOST AS IF SHE WAS ACTING WHILE SINGING !!!!JENNIFER HUDSON IS NOW WORTHY OF BEING DEEMED SIMPLY "THE VOICE" OF A GENERATION.

Betty Buckley's performance of "Memory" at the 1983 Tony's will always be my favourite but I LOVE Jennifer's rendition here. You can really feel the emotion, it's like she was channeling Grizabella. Brought a tear to my eye. They're two very different performances, both brilliant.
I think that thanks to jhud we can undertand the difference between a technically perfect performance (such as Lea's On my own) and a personal, intimate one. I loved lea's, i really did, but I couldn't see, and feel her love for marius. while Jennifer is able to embody the character even if she is not singing during the concert or the show itself. I knew it was a HUGE mistake kicking Jennifer Hudson off of American Idol after she sang, “Weekend in New England”. I got chills when she sang that. I watched her sing this on the voice. It was absolute perfection.

I've heard Jennifer so often singing flawlessly but I have to say; this is another level of excellence. You have to really know what you are listening to get every drop of beauty in this video. Or be a voice coach like you lol. Thank you for not only pointing out all that I enjoyed in this song but being able to explain why. I wish i hadnt ruined my voice so young. I wanted to sing professionally but never had the training I needed. Too late for me but I can enjoy singers like Jennifer.
