    Enjoying the fact that you are enjoying yourself with this series and Star Wars in general. You are one of the few bright spots of Star Wars love on TH-cam.
    I feel like Qimir was hiding from Venestra because he was not ready to face her. Possible emotionally although I'm not sure. More importantly he didn't have his two lightsabers. I heard that in the EU there were short bladed lightsabers used to fight against lightwhips. He couldn't face her skill and her whip without his short blade. That's my thoughts.
    Loved The Acolyte I look forward to binging the whole season someday in the near future. It was tough waiting week after week to get more story.

    21:28 It was Yoda but to clarify, that’s not *her* master specifically. It’s just a formal way of addressing another master. She herself is over ~116 years old and is a Jedi master, she also became knighted at 15 as the youngest Jedi in the order. Her master was Stellen Gios.

      The potential to retcon the character of Yoda into a silent conspirator with the green walking plank, covering up a self-defense measure against mind controlling witches by framing another jedi. This show and the original trilogy cannot both be "canon". This story was much, much worse than simply being unnecessary and dull.

    Not to defend the Jedi, but i'd say that as an organization it wasn't corrupt completely, some of them made mistakes for not following rules and letting themselves free their emotions, and other few as Vernestra or Yoda acted in response of that, she was under pressure of the senate and that made her to take the easy way that was the lie, she thought that with that the senate would let them in peace for some time, it's ironic that the same prejudice Sol had against the witches is present in Coruscant against Jedi, both organizations are seen as a cult that has to be controlled, and both groups made bad choices when they felt pressured, i will always say it, Jedi are not the problem but their members who can't control their emotions and make decisions based on that and not on what they must do.... keep rocking and stay safe...!

    Not sure if you play video games, but in "Star Wars: Jedi Survivor", there is a kyber crystal that gets bled in that title. There was a High Republic Jedi Knight named Dagan Gera, who fell to the dark side after the Jedi Council abandoned a paradise planet that he discovered. This planet was raided by marauders, and he was ordered by the Jedi Council to withdraw. Dagan was placed into stasis after a hostile encounter with another Jedi named Santari Khri, who cut off his arm. Centuries later, he was woken up by Cal Kestis, who was a Padawan during Order 66. Cal informed him that the Jedi Order no longer exists. As Dagan recalls his last moments prior to stasis, including what he considers an act of betrayal from Santari, he becomes filled with rage, and his kyber crystal changes from yellow to red.

    They need to explore this idea that Mae and Osha are the same person. Even if created through the force why are they the same person? Not twins split from the same embryo. Not clones. But the same person. What does that even mean when they seemingly have starkly different personalities?
    Likely leading to Darth Plagueis learning how to create life, which he and Sidious used to create Anakin.

    20:19 Vernestra had to lie to keep the senate away from her internal investigation of her ex-padawan. She wants to avoid the senate’s overreach in power (we know that it’s bad since the prequels show us the Sith gaining control over the Jedi through the senate so she’s steps ahead). I really don’t think pinning a few extra bodies on Sol is anything worse than what he’s done to his own reputation, he caused something terrible because he disobeyed the council and Indara, and 16 years later he showed that he learned nothing, he still thought everything he did was the right thing to do.
    Also she burned his body because that’s a proper Jedi burial lol.

    Hey ATF👋😁 Loving the nod to the witches of Brendok ❤ Today I watched the entire series in a binge and I gotta say the pacing issues I found with watching in weekly episodes were far less apparent when seen like this. I think they should have had fewer but longer episodes, like a miniseries. The main problem for me though is that the twins just weren't compelling characters as leads which prevented me from really caring for or identifying with them. I blame that on how they were written, often clunky dialogue, and unfortunately lackluster and unconvincing performances. That said, the fight choreography in all areas was brilliant, there were really interesting moral dilemmas and non-conformist perspectives explored in here, and the performances from Master Sol, Qimir and Mother Aniseya were top notch. I would watch a second season as I think there's lots more to go into now, but maybe the focus might shift to some of the more interesting storylines and characters. That might mean that the The Acolyte functions as a bridge to a new series that continues the best storylines but with different characters as a primary focus moving forwards. TBH if it's in the SW universe I will come check it out LOL✌️😁 #istilllovestarwars #istillrespectmastersol #ineedmore

    Hey, Jazmin! This show left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm glad it's done and I hope it's not renewed.
    I never understood the motivation of the twins! It seemed to change from scene to scene so I could never lock on to how I was supposed to feel towards either girl. An impossible role for Amandla Stenberg to pull off!
    Vernestra is the worst and I don't understand how she had so much independent authority. Her autonomy was implausible, her leadership questionable and her decisions outrageous!
    Why did Bazil sabotage Sol's pursuit?
    Lee Jung-Jae was amazing throughout and I was appalled at his death and the maligning of his character by Vernestra.
    Qimir was well-acted by Manny Jacinto and intriguing as a character.
    Dafne Keen is always a pleasure to watch and was very likable as Jecki.
    The spaceship chase through the rings was a cool scene.
    The lightsaber duel was well-done as was the major battle in Episode 5.
    I enjoyed seeing a kyber crystal get corrupted in live-action.
    Always nice to see David Harewood even though he was playing just an obnoxious Senator rather than Plagueis!
    Having Darth Plagueis and Yoda show up was fun but extremely problematic. It should have been Tenebrous because Plagueis is too young at this point and Cortosis was Tenebrous' thing. Yoda is now a co-conspirator with Ki-Adi-Mundi in this cover-up.
    Headland's flagrant disregard for continuity was sloppy and disrespectful.
    Headland's overt hypocrisy in objectifying her handsome leading men was irritating.
    Headland's intent to tarnish the Jedi was a confusing failure! All the actions of the four Jedi in question were justified or misunderstood. The witches needlessly escalated the situation with their actions. Nothing to commit suicide over.
    Headland's appropriating the Vergence concept to outdo George and trump Anakin was supremely arrogant and never fully explained.
    Headland's skills as a storyteller leave much to be desired as this narrative was poorly-paced, nebulously-motivated, confusingly-explained and unsatisfying.
    This show needs to be swept under the rug and forgotten as bad fan-fic! What a multi-million dollar fiasco!

    • @EM-fl5od
      @EM-fl5od 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your flagrant disregard for actually knowing what’s canon or not and acting like an enforcer over canon is what’s really alarming..
      Darth Plagueis is not too young because he has no canon age.
      Yoda showing up.. still no issue, even if Vernestra tells Yoda the truth, neither of them would know the Stranger is a Sith. Ki-Adi-Mundi has no idea about any of it.
      Cortosis is Tenebrous’ thing? Not canon! (And if it were.. Tenebrous and Plagueis BOTH came to Bal’demnic for Cortosis, it was THEIR thing..)
      And the senator was “obnoxious”.. even though he had a point..
      Vernestra didn’t tarnish Sol’s reputation any worse than he did so himself.. He decided to be a rogue Jedi, go against the council and Indara, cause a massacre, and STILL 16 years later believe it was the “right thing.” LMAO. He’s like Maul, learned nothing over almost 2 decades.
      Bazil sabotaged Sol’s pursuit because unlike Sol, Bazil isn’t an irrational rogue Jedi led by emotion. Bazil works for the Republic, he’s not gonna kill someone for escaping or allow it. Spraying Mae in the eye with Pip and stomping on her foot is one thing but Bazil’s not trigger happy.
      The twins’ motivations changed as they gained knowledge of different events, they weren’t constant bc why would they?
      “The witches needlessly escalated the situation” .. hardly. If it were the other way around and the witches kept barging into the Jedi Temple like they owned the place, it’d be “self defense.”
      An infinite amount of BS and lack of comprehension from you.

    • @Dicko2909
      @Dicko2909 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EM-fl5od Right the fact that there are multiple witnesses who can put Sol in the Jedi temple at the time of the murder is irrelevant? Or that there was a witness who identified Mae as the killer in front of other Jedi's including Ki Adi-Mundi is also irrelevant. The fact Mae can't remember her sister despite being taken back to an 8 year old girl is just stupid and lazy writing.
      And as far as the Yoda thing even if you concede that he couldn't feel the deaths of the jedi by a homicidal, force wielding maniac then what the show is asking us to believe is that he couldn't see through Vernestra's absolute bullshit or she told him the truth and he was complicit in the cover-up.
      I don't know which is worse.

    • @oxhine
      @oxhine 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EM-fl5od The show is set 86 years before "Revenge of the Sith" according to the opening crawl. Muuns live for a century. Plagueis dies during "Phantom Menace" at Palpatine's hand. That means the show is set 72 years before his death. Plagueis would be 28 years old. If he was long-lived, one could push his age to 38. It's doable but he would likely be Tenebrous' apprentice and Bal'Demnic would be Tenebrous' cortosis-filled lair.
      Bazil was working with the Jedi to track down a murderess. He knew Mae was in Sol's custody and was pretending to be Osha. He alerted Sol to the subterfuge. He should have been aiding Sol with her recapture rather than sabotaging his pursuit.
      Aniseya seized the mind of the Padawan which made the situation confrontational. Indarra made it clear no one would take the children without permission but that testing was protocol. Aniseya later turns into a smoke monster with fangs and dematerializes the girl Sol believes to be Osha and he reacted to protect her by neutralizing a perceived threat. She could have deescalated the situation by telling Sol she had already granted permission for Osha to leave. How all the witches were killed by the psionic backlash of freeing Kelnacca whose mind they had seized is unexplained. How they created a Vergence is unexplained. Why they were persecuted into exile is unexplained. The Jedi never had an issue with Force cults and coexisted with many.
      The Senator was obnoxious because the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice for a hundred generations and venerated as such. They were the bulwark against star-spanning criminal cartels, jingoistic Mandalorians and Dark Side Force-adepts who had all previously conquered the galaxy. They wielded great power responsibly and selflessly for the benefit of the Republic. They were the Avengers or Justice League of the Star Wars galaxy, not the Bene Gesserit!
      From scene to scene and, sometimes, within scenes, Mae and Osha would go from murderous rage towards each other, the Jedi or Qimir to allegiance with the same. There was an utter lack of consistency. Revelations can change motives but too much flip-flopping becomes tiresome and irrational. Their switches served the needs of the moment rather than felt organic. Ultimately, no one could get a lock on how to feel about either girl.
      Sol was the nicest and most genuine person on the show. For some stupid reason, the writers prevented him from Force-lifting the twins to safety otherwise they wouldn't have had their half-baked plot. He was acting in the interest of the children and on the imperative of the Vergence phenomenon. He used force to neutralize a needlessly threatening act and felt guilty about it for years. He was a gentle, compassionate man of conscience who loved his pupil. Vernestra vilified a decent man to cover her own butt and enact a conspiracy that now enmeshes Ki-Adi-Mundi and Yoda!
      Even if no one calls Qimir a Sith, he's a Dark-Side Force-adept with Jedi-level skill who killed about ten Jedi. Call him what you will, he's a Force-wielding threat whose presence contradicts Ki-Adi-Mundi's assertion in "Phantom Menace"! The Temple will talk and know that Sol couldn't have committed all the crimes he's accused of because it would have been impossible for him to do so! Yord's Padawan and the Master of Torbin's Temple can testify that he was innocent of two deaths at least. How did the Jedi Council not sense these deaths or the turmoil surrounding Vernestra? This incident makes Yoda and Mundi liars!
      Headland believes her hand-holding sunset ending is romantic! The Rule of Two means Qimir and Osha will circle each other like sharks until one supplants the other by murdering them. The Sith don't share power!

    • @EM-fl5od
      @EM-fl5od 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Dicko2909 I need you to understand multiple things:
      Mae is still responsible for the murders of Indara and Torbin. Mae says that people thinks she killed someone which indicates nobody forgot. Vernestra only blamed what happened on Khofar on Sol. Which was necessary to keep the senate from getting any more power over the Jedi, as we know that the senate is eventually used by the Sith to gain control over the Jedi. Vernestra knows that the senate should not have so much control over the Jedi. It’s not like she’s lying to forget about everything like Sol did, she’s lying and intentionally facing her past, not running away pretending to be a hero.
      Vernestra is most likely going to tell Yoda the truth.. and neither of them would know that the Stranger is a Sith to be clear.
      Yoda only sensed Order 66 because nearly 10,000 Jedi were dying at the same time, he’s not gonna sense less than 10 and Yoda would be complicit in a coverup, he is known for hiding things, including his visions of Order 66 and Sidious. This is nothing out of character, I’m convinced you guys just don’t know Yoda as well as you think.

    • @EM-fl5od
      @EM-fl5od 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@oxhine He wouldn’t “likely” be anything because that’s all Legends, they can pull what they want from it and say that Tenebrous died at whatever time.
      Bazil saw that Sol was trying to open fire on a starfighter.. how do you think that’s gonna go? The entire ship would’ve exploded and killed her.
      Aniseya was defending herself from intruders. It was Sol’s fault for not realizing that he’s an intruder and he caused that conflict. If they had left like Indara and the council said, everything would’ve been fine.
      The senator was right. The Jedi are an unchecked power and he predicted their downfall.
      Mae and Osha are supposed to be opposites. That’s because they’re the same person split into two consciousness. Also you’ll notice since the very beginning Osha was always the more emotional one with attachments, that’s why she left the order. Mae was misled by both her mother Koril and the Stranger, and while she fought for the dark side she felt completely out of place intentionally.
      Ki-Adi-Mindi DOESN’T KNOW, he was in one meeting and there was no Sith mentioned. Not every dark sider is a Sith! Yoda will most likely know and he’s known for lying and covering things up.. watch Yoda’s Clone Wars arc.. he literally hides his visions of Order 66 and Sidious. He’s not a perfect character.
      Sol sucks.
      Again, contradicts nothing. Ki-Adi-Mundi said the Sith were extinct which was never true, it was highlighting the Jedi’s ignorance to the audience right after Qui-Gon literally tells them that he was attacked by a Sith.
      The Jedi could not sense that few deaths. It wasn’t Order 66 and may I remind you that traditional Jedi don’t have attachments, we usually follow Jedi that bend that rule.
      Congrats.. you discovered the setup for next season.. the Stranger and Osha will most likely have to kill each other. That totally.. wasn’t intended.. it’s not like that’s the most obvious thing..
