Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Like an unsung melody
The truth is waiting there for you to find it
It's not a blight, but a remedy
A clear reminder of how it began
Deep inside your memory
You turned away as you struggled to find it
You heard the call as you walked away
A voice of calm from within the silence
And for what seemed an eternity
You waited hoping it would call out again
You heard the shadow beckoning
Then, your fear seemed to keep you blinded
You held your guard as you walked away
[Chorus]
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (All's not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes, darkness can show you the light
[Verse 2]
An unforgivable tragedy
The answer isn't where you think you'd find it
Prepare yourself for the reckoning
For when your world seems to crumble again
Don't be afraid, don't turn away
You're the one who can redefine it
Don't let hope become a memory
Let the shadow permeate your mind
And reveal the thoughts that were tucked away
So that the door can be opened again
Within your darkest memories
Lies the answer, if you dare to find it
Don't let hope become a memory
[Chorus]
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (All's not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes, darkness can show you the light
[Bridge]
Sickening, weakening
Don't let another somber pariah consume your soul
You need strengthening, toughening
It takes an inner dark to rekindle the fire burning in you
Ignite the fire within you
[Chorus]
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (All's not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes, darkness can show you the light
[Outro]
Don't ignore, listen to me now
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes, darkness can show you the light
I know I personally struggle with mental health and such but hearing this song from Disturbed just really helps since their being able to recognize how hard it is to try and find some sort of "Light" when everything around you is full of darkness. I've been loving their music since hearing Down with the sickness (Which is part of my name here). I hope to one day see them in concert but still hearing their music is really something since their going to talk about the struggles and things that most people either ignore or just don't care about. Good video.
Your perspective on Disturbed's music is powerful. It's meaningful that their lyrics resonate with your mental health journey, providing a sense of understanding and hope during difficult times. The song's message about finding "light" when everything feels dark can be incredibly validating for those struggling with mental health challenges. Your connection to their music, especially "Down with the Sickness," seems deeply personal and therapeutic. It's wonderful that you've found musical support that helps you feel seen and understood. I hope you get the chance to see them live someday and continue finding strength in their music. I am sending you all the love and light virtually I can, thank you for sharing with me, and are their other bands that help you? I can recommend song songs that helped me, do you prefer rock? please have a good weekend and loves of love
@@jamiembryantbreakingstereo6957 Thank you and you can recommend me anything. I am mainly into rock and such but I do also listen to other genres of music as well. There's this one song from a anime called fullmetal alchemist called Melissa (there's english covers) and it's something that if you look into it, it's something like the light by disturbed.
As I watch your reaction to Disturbed’s song the Light…I think of Davids grandparents that survived the Holocaust and how their children and grandchildren must have been their Light!
Today, people in California are dealing with tragic forest fires. People lost everything including their photos, their homes, their churches as well as their synagogues. People have lost their lives as well.
Somehow maybe we can be the Light for our fellow Americans.
"Thank you for sharing such a profound and meaningful perspective. You're absolutely right about how David's grandparents' story connects to the song's message of hope and resilience. And your connection to the present-day struggles of those affected by the California wildfires is so powerful. It reminds us that in times of darkness, we all have the ability to be 'the Light' for others through compassion and support. Your comment really touched my heart and shows how music can help us process both historical and present-day challenges. Thank you for bringing this deeper meaning to the song. 🙏💕"
"Hold On To Memories" is also incredible.
❤ These guys are friends of mine. I make their guitar strings 😊
This is absolutely my new favorite song, I've had it on repeat for the last few days. I also loved your reaction ❤
Next to sound of silence, it resonates especially with Vets like myself who are still haunted with memories of the past wars we went to and just want to shut the world out. Thanks for the continued awareness’s of mental illness. God bless.
Thank You so much for your service and I wish I could erase the pain from your past, please know you are amazing, a hero and you are very loved Michael, i'm sending you big warm hugs, much love to you and yours xoxoxo
Thank you for sharing your recovery, I am currently at 14+ months in recovery from methamphetamine addiction that took up over 35 years of my life, I spent 43 years in active addiction. Love your reactions so far on Disturbed and Ren❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"Thank you so much for sharing your recovery journey with me. 14+ months clean after 35 years is an incredible achievement - you should be so proud of how far you've come. It takes immense strength and courage to make that change. Really appreciate you being part of this community and glad you're enjoying the Disturbed and Ren reactions. Keep going strong! 💪"

Thank you for your great response! After The Sound of Silence, this my next favourite song. Fantastic. Luv from Australia ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your story, you realy are a strong and beautiful woman, keep up winning the good fight! I also suffer from mental illness and been fighting my fight for so long now, it truely helps knowing you are NOT alone or crazy or weak!! Maybe you would want to hear their song "a Reason to Fight" (LIVE) in private, because it is a heavy one emotionally, but it is such a good song, message and video!
