- Having returned home from our holidays in France, I chat about what I knitted when I was there.
I also talk a little more about what I plan to knit during my upcoming KAL. Remember to use the hashtag #knitpatchworkkal if you want to join in.
Other podcasts I mention during the episode include:
@DreaRenee
@YoungfolkKnits
@snapdragonlife
Happy knitting x
Lovely socks! I must try a ribbed pair! The heirloom quilt squares look fab.
Thank you. Now I need to sew them altogether 😬.
I really like the low contrast on the blanket squares. It reminds me of the old-looking “faded Persian” rugs that are so popular now. Adding a few more would look nice.
Ah, thanks so much. I think it would be good to add a few more to balance them out. I appreciate your input x
Loved this podcast and looking forward to the KAL even if I am a slow knitter, the summer holidays have been busy so not so much knitting has happened but hopefully will get lots done in autumn xx
Fingers crossed! Should be easier once the garden slows down x
Hello. I just found your podcast and really enjoyed it. I will have to look into this KAL. Sounds like fun.
Oh, thanks so much. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. There is an episode all about it. Enjoy and hope you can join in x
I normally knit toe up for that reason I love long socks
To get the grease out of your wool shawl wash in hot water with wool soap or kitchen detergent then rinse in hot water let soak for a while in the soapy water you can move it around a bit but don’t shock it with cold water that is what will shrink it let it cool in the rinse water if your washing machine has a spin without adding water spin it out then block out to dry and that should take most of the lanolin out you may have to change your soap water a couple of times but I think one wash should get it now. Good luck
When checking for contrast for your colours take a photo in black and white and much easier to see the difference.
Check kaffee fassett for patchwork inspired knits especially his older designs
Thanks for all the great info x
