Amory is one of the most authentically caring and sincere people I've ever met. And I've been around a long time. His name means "industrious" (German origin) - but also a "brave and powerful home-ruler" (English origin) - He is definitely ruling the roost right now with all of his talents. Blessings to all of you Lalanders. I hope I can return someday.

I love the way Amaury just tosses off these purpose made storage units that make his workshop a glory to behold. It is gratifying to see how excited he is to set his”house” in order. Such a great addition the the household!
Amaury needs to teach all the Chateau guys how to organise, use and care for tools! eg Billy Petherick and Phillip Franz from Chateau Le Fleur!! 🤣🤣 He could have a Men’s Shed Session!

Stephanie is so lucky to have Amaury and Naty, who are both organized in their own way. She loves him and in the past has loved him reorganizing the cup cabinet and decorating or redecorating whole rooms. I went back through the Advent Vlogs of last year and I judge by past loving acts. She also loves to tease him as the whole family of Lalande gently tease each other. Love to you this holiday season.😘🌹

Mavis is a unique and beautiful name. I once knew a lady called Avis, the only time I have ever heard that name, too. ~ I am a child of the 1960s and in my third grade classroom our teacher found it confusing to have 3 girls named Sharon. She asked us our middle names to help her differentiate us. All three of us have the same middle names! We went with Sharon F, Sharon G and Sharon R. My father chose my first name so I have always loved it because I loved him so very much. 💜✝️💜

My mum always put newspaper on top of dusty places like you have in the kitchen. She then just used to take it down and replaced in the spring. You can buy pretty paper if you don't like newspaper but nobody ever sees it. Love to all, you keep me going some days. Xxxx

I've been looking forward to the Grand Salon refurb, the start is very exciting. You are in good hands Stephanie as Amaury appears to be super organized and detail oriented. So satisfying to clean shelves and china, a little reorganization, it looked beautiful and the china shone. Even three people can accomplish quite a bit. Oooh what a brilliant way to take out your frustrations! So satisfying!! I had a giggle at Natie being so hesitant until the first hit - You go, girl!! The Grande Salon is going to look absolutely amazing when the panels are up and everything refurbished. Can't wait to see it! And lucky you getting cup and saucer plant pods! They're a very decorative feature in any garden. Exciting times!

I had to giggle when Stephanie was stymied about remembering where all the porcelain needed to go on the shelves. How many hundreds of video hours of the LaLande kitchen? Surely it wouldn't be too hard to find a shot to freeze frame for reference (even if one had to find a couple of different angles).
But that wouldn't be as fun.😁🌹
I love the Spode. my favorite decorating colours blue and white. Amaury is having such an impact on La lande already. Funny watching the all have a crack at the walls. The china always sparkles after a good wash, thankfully my plates are behind glass... I love the little boy on the pig, a special piece. Amaury is very tidy man, a place for everything and everything init's place... ⚒ and the paneling will be fabulous!

@@Tony-InLosAngelesAs Stephanie states constantly restoration takes time. Try to enjoy the ride. 🤣🌹The plan as stated was let the panels rest for a month in the Grand Salon and wait for the B&B season to end. Then start the Grand Salon project. That is happening. Yeah! 🤣🌹
Mary was fine working in the laundry recently and even Amaury did his rota and learned the ropes and fixed them (he told us). The B&B laundry was finally sent out as they found a local business that would carefully handle their older fine linens, and not use their linens only. Stephanie stated that mid-summer. I am sure Mary Poppins and David cleaning, and the cleaning rota being enforced by Natti still works.
A patron stated that materials for Natti's/Gerry's appartments are now stored in the China room. Matt will put the tiles down when it is freed up and then the selves need building or ordering. Grand Salon is a two month project now as that was always Amaury's timeline. I will enjoy a busy December of cleaning, decorating and building at Lalande till Christmas when everyone will go on vacation. 🤣🌹
@@Tony-InLosAngeles That sounds like a wonderful upbringing. Mine is the mend and make do Granny who ran her own shop and a totally DIY Dad, who was a scientist. I love the light touch and ability to laugh, even at themselves at Lalande. It adds joy to life. 😁🌹

Hi Stephanie, I am a lady of a certain age (83) and take a tip from me , when you have cleaned the top of the shelves or
cabinets in a kitchen put old newspapers on them. Makes life so much easier. Happy New Year to you all.
The birds are cleaning up the crop fields in NC and heading south on mass in lovely waves. We have Canadian Geese moving in for the Winter.😘🌹

I’m so far behind, so I’ve been using Christmas break to binge LaLande! Smashy smashy crashy crashy seems like a good way to work through grief. Makes me wish I had a project here like that or I could be apart of the LaLande crew lol. Can’t wait to see the salon when it’s all finished!

@ Kay Wallace I was at Marshall's last week and they had one 4 piece Spode set. The Red one with a turkey on it. I'm not fond of the red, but if it were blue and white I would have bought the entire set. Spode at Marshall's can you believe it. The cost was stupid cheap. And yes it was Spode. Had the markings underneath.

We would love more than anything to visit LaLande but unfortunately we can only visit through your wonderful videos! I watch them all. My husband joins me often and we daydream of what it would be like to meet everyone and I would love to prepare so meals for everyone! Walk the amazing property. Share stories and so forth! Unfortunately we both have health issues, my husband has a brain tumor and I have cardiovascular issues. The videos give me the escape I crave daily from my problems. Thank you and Godbless

A carpenter once told me that people lay down a sheet of plastic or brown paper on that top shelf. So when it becomes dirty, they just replace it. Just a tip for those very high shelves!

Just a quick thought…I can see a beautiful wooden beam on the ceiling in the kitchen. It would add support and visual interest. Can’t wait to see the Grand Salon once finished. It will be gorgeous.
