    I fitted the cargo netting once I tool delivery of mine 3 weeks ago and struggled with those weird fittings. luckily they just went in by luck in the end - once in it works a treat for me to stop camping stuff falling into the kids.

    Simon, are you planning to produce your own net that ties down to your hook adapter and the floor tie downs? I’d be super interested in such a product for ease of install and removal…. And storage when not in use as it would just be a simple net. Great videos as always, thanks for all you do!

    I like the hook idea, seems quite handy.

    I recently installed the full partition and it’s rock solid. No movement or vibration or creaks. It’s a solid product. Also didn’t have an issue with top mounts.

      I think the tension is critical - I think with some adjustment / bending of the arms I could get this sorted - also i did buy this second hand. However the top mount is not a positive fixing - i think a captive nut in the car would have made a much more positive location at the top rather than those strange kidney shaped holes.

    The mesh rear partition
    looks good but wow , what a price. I have made up a bolt & eye attachment very similar to yours but I use the cargo net. Mine 110 is a seven seater and mid row seats are different to yours. who new. Cheers Non Stick Nick

    When I fitted mine this weekend I had to cutaway some of the plastic around the screw hole so that the new bracket fits flush and gives you a few more mm gap, looks like you have the same problem on the rh fitting .Then it fits perfectly. I have the tow bar fitted if you were needing some info about that.

    • @L663
      @L663  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike - I was worried it was because mine was from ebay and damaged but maybe there is some tolerance issues here - it does not leave much room for error the design as they have it. I may be back for help on the tow bar... just need to fix it and then fit it. Watch out - there is a problem with the motors being vulnerable... keep watching to save a £2500 bill !

    Simon have you any designs for a roof shelf, tray/box, fitting up inside the boot area, up against the headlining, about 150mm deep, so you can store stuff high up and not obstructing the boot area??

    Maybe that bottom bolt is that long so you can adjust the bottom bracket up to lock the guard in place?

    The bottom rh mount doesn’t look right, the bolt jacked the mounting up when you tightened it up.

    Loving the videos while I wait for mine to be delivered. Are you going to put the rear work light install video up?

    • @L663
      @L663  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peter - congratulations on ordering a new Defender.
      I have just ordered the connectors for the rear light install - I tapped into the rear towbar electrics ( I do not have a tow bar so they are in the boot unused ). Out of interest have you ordered yours with a tow bar ?

    Soooo, i’ve just seen the video of the bowler defender and was wondering if, like the old defender, you could fit that front grille on the “normal” defender

    • @L663
      @L663  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it seems they want extra cooling on the Bowler vehicles so have changed to a mesh grille - you will note they have kept the grille horizontal bar - probably because that contains the radar behind the badge.

    Simon I need your help! I bought one of these second hand. Do you know of any way to get the parts to connect to the floor? parts B,C, D, F? My dealer is not helpful.

      Sorry they do not list the parts as spares you can purchase - see below screen shot of the parts screen

    Is it just me or is the new Defender a bit rough on build quality

    • @L663
      @L663  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I dont think its build quality but this fixing is not great - i would have preferred to have had a nut welded to the rear of that area so you could get a positive location fixing with a bolt etc.

    I want a kit that would make a shelf in the back of my 90 over the folded down seats and boot area to make it all even so I can throw the dogs back there on a flat even surface with the guard

    Talking of children in the back ..... it reminds me of a TV car programme that was reviewing a new Volvo. They said "Volvo think they are so clever having a rear armrest that converts into a child seat - everyone knows that children should be kept in a soundproof box in nthe boot". 🤣

    I'm sure my net doesn't fit like your "orange penned" one. I'll have to go and examine it again. As you know, JLR's instructions for this are hopeless. 🙄
