- This weeks Princess turned Villain is Aurora!! I feel like she doesn’t get much attention so it’s her turn in the spotlight.
Story
(This story follows the events of Maleficent in the recent remakes of Sleeping beauty.)
We all know how this story begins. Aurora received a curse that would send her into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday. She was sent away from home in an effort to prevent the curse from coming true and was raised by three fairies in the woods. Lonely and bored, Aurora would regularly sneak away and spend time with another fairy she found in the woods, Maleficent. They spent many afternoons chatting as Maleficent provided a safe haven for Aurora to escape to. The two quickly grew a deep bond and became like family.
Eventually, Auroras curse was set in motion on her 16th birthday. After being led to the castle, she pricked her finger and fell into a deep sleep. Maleficent in an effort to break the curse, kissed Aurora on the forehead and she awoke as the kiss was one of true maternal love.
This is where our story takes a turn.
Just as Maleficent and Aurora were leaving the castle to return home, an arrow struck Maleficent in the chest, shot by Aurora’s Father, the king. Fear of those more powerful can make you do awful things. Maleficent died in Auroras arms. Struck by grief Aurora ran to the Moors to hide away from the world, Swearing she would avenge her fallen friend.
Eventually, if left to fester, grief can blind even the purest of souls.
Aurora swore she would have her revenge and began plotting. Blaming the king and his people for the unwarranted hatred they had for Maleficent that eventually led to her death. She spent the next few months learning how to cast spells and curses as Maleficent did, the creatures in the Moors assisting her with her goals. She mastered curses quite quickly, Focusing especially on one’s with spinning wheels.
After some time had passed Aurora was ready and the town had restocked their spinning wheels, they would soon come to regret that. We meet Aurora as walks through the town, singing her cursed lullaby. Compelling the townspeople to prick their finger and fall into a deep sleep, one they won’t wake from.

Love it! Just found your channel and I’m loving the villain twists. If you’re taking requests, could one of your villain twist songs be “It’s tough to be a god.” I feel like a slow and somber reprise of the song could really come off a lot more menacing. Or maybe a reprise of Hercules’ “I won’t say I’m in love.” I just love hearing the slow and dramatic delivery of these once happy songs.

I imagine her like a silent villain, you don't know she's bad because you can't speak a lot with her, and then just talks to you when singing to trick you or in an important moment, something like that, thinking how she's the princess with less dialogue on her movie.
In the original from 17th century, Sleeping Beauty is actually more of a horror than a fairytale, starting from the fact that cursed princess was raped in her sleep and gave birth to twins which later on were almost killed by her mother-in-law.

The story made this villain version of Aurora more of a heartbroken and betrayed-feeling character where she's simply seeking a just revenge - instead of her being plain evil.

Most people always want others to have a reason for bad things they do. Ironically, there’s a lot of people who really don’t think of a reason to do bad things. Yeah, there’s a surprising amount of Disney villains, irl.
Everyone has reasons for doing bad or villainous things (unless you're just an ass), but it all depends on the morals that you grow up with or decide to follow.
Yeah. I really like when villians have a reason, it can be ANYTHING not just a boho sad backstory (although those are very interesting if done right!) It can be because of greed jealousness Or anything. Just not "I just wanna see the world burn" Although they should be taken as REASONS not EXCUSES those are two very different things.
Aurora, the most beautiful of all evil! I love how quiet it was at the start, like how the townsfolk could hear Aurora in the distance as she started walking into town to sing her cursed song. And then how it bellowed out into the new lyrics was wondrously dark and hypnotic. I also felt a sense of mourning from Aurora, not just for Maleficent, but for herself as well. he'd been forced to bury herself in order to become someone that could avenge Maleficent, and now she has the last laugh - the only laugh - in a town that sleeps evermore. Bravo, bravo. As a lover of Sleeping Beauty, this was marvelous. ^_^

I was getting that same idea. She is mourning her best friend, all while also mourning the girl that she was before. The girl who was lied to her entire life, and the only one who truly made up for those lies was Maleficent. Then she was killed, and Aurora now feels that she has no one left. She is now a new Aurora who has lost all capability of forgiveness and compassion (and who could blame her?), while the old Aurora is dead along with her friend. Oh, what will become of the new Aurora after this...

I sign for this.
I imagine Aurora walking through the forest and the abandoned cottage house, now withered and decaying, as she sings the first verse. Then, the further she goes, the lush forest gradually thins until she arrives at Maleficent’s old castle, where she reminisces about the earlier days and how her ‘perfect’ story ending was not what she thought it to be (Imagine the original Grimm ending where she was raped and her twins were almost killed).The song ends with her finding and picking up Maleficent’s staff as her eyes swirl with the lime green color of magic, vowing to enact revenge upon those who have done her wrong.

Why do I feel like the start of the song would start when shes walking into the town and it would hypnotize one child every night that was awake during her song and the child would follow her into a place with the needle and when the child pricks their finger. They fall in a super long deep sleep, and its used as a legends and a way to make your kids sleep as soon as possible of else Aurora will find you...

Honestly the whole idea that such a sweet innocent princess could truly become this is a compelling story that I wished existed. Also I LOVE how you were able to show her deep rage with the use of ur voice. AMAZING

I thought it was kinda a movie already- Incase it is, I didn't watch the full movie and I doubt the villain part was included, but I swear I remember seeing the scene where Maleficent got shot in the chest with an arrow and stuff

Actually, I've often thought about Disney heroes and villains as almost counterparts of each other. What I mean is that some of the heroes, if they made different choices, could have become just like or very similar to their respective villains. Almost like the villain is a potential reflection of the hero in the future. For example, Aurora could have felt so betrayed by her parents and her faerie aunts deceiving her that she could have viewed her parents similarly to how Maleficent views them. Incompetent maybe, liars, fools, you name it. You might notice the same thing between other heroes and villains if you pay attention.
Imagine waking up after 100 years, your family and friends dead and gone. No one came to save you, and now you're all alone. Why shouldn't everyone else suffer as you have, you were isolated and lied to your whole life. The faries should pay, maleficent should pay, but most of all, all the people who could have tried to awaken you should pay. The people who let you sleep while they lived, if humanity could let you sleep for 100 years, why should they not do the same.

This was amazing! “I know you” was being said in the darkest way possible, it made me think she was talking to me tbh, which scared me a bit haha! But to me it sounds like someone had betrayed her in some way? I’m not sure, I’m not good with lore unless I make up my own characters. Great video though and AWESOME WORK!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤

This song is so creepy, chilling. And I love it. It’s like a cold lullaby, something that’s meant to scare you into sleep instead of ease you into it. Amazing villain cover! I’ve loved all of them and this is no exception
POV: Philip falls for another woman on the midst of saving Aurora, and he looks at his new beloved with the same look he gave Aurora. Aurora, having been woken up realized that her beloved wasn't in love with her anymore, but with someone else.
My favorite Disney Princess. Granted, there is not much of a personality, but that gives a lot of creative freedom in her usages.

Maleficent has become one of my favorite characters and somehow I've always loved the idea of her and Aurora being in love and this was just superb.
I say all of that while sitting next to my Maleficent mug...lol.

Ok but like why is the story so damn good that I want to see a movie out of it with this song as the ending finale of it? Imagine: a movie with no happy ending that spins better than a Disney flick and is a subtle horror in itself. Love this!

Recently, I suddenly really wanted to find a good fanfic where Aurora becomes the villain or at least stands up for herself.
I didn't think I would find that good fanfic inside a TH-cam video description.
Amazing work on the song as well! I was also trying to think up a good creepy version of Once Upon a Dream just for fun, and you nailed it.
This is incredible, it surprised me how one sweet and dreamy song like it can turned dark and eerie like that by a different mix and tune with your enchanting voice. The emotion of despair, belonging and revenge is really strong here, from the innocent looking sound off of the lullaby from the beginning to a song full of glimmering spite with a curse. You've delivered such a mesmerising performance once again.

I know Simba is not a princess, but as kids tend to sing in high pitched voices I am confident that you could portray this convincingly (without having to turn it into a female version) :) , but the most importantly reason is: "I just can´t wait to be King" is basically and literally begging to be turned from the song of a naive child not understanding the implications of it´s wish (= father must be dead for me to be king), into the song of a would-be-fatherkiller who dreams about what he will do once he is old enough to lay claim on the crown. XD
Ironically, I also saw how "I Just Can't Wait to be King" had echoes of a villainous song with made me assume that had Scar never attempted to murder Mufasa and Simba, then Simba might've grown to become a selfish and self-centered King not unlike Scar ended up being.
Weirdly, the tragedies that Simba went through kinda helped him grow into a better person.

I would love that, but I still don't know how you would do that. The only thing I can imagine is if her father died cause she couldn't get him out of the asylum, the Beast died at the hands of the Gaston, all the castle people turned into inanimate objects, Belle's disgraced not only as an outcast but a witch for falling in love with the Beast so Gaston no longer wants her because she's not a prize anymore, and she's left in the castle alone. So she learns spells from the enchantress and starts a revenge quest against the villagers. After all, revenge is a Tale as Old as Time
@@brianalambert1192 I would mix provincial town & be our guest or something there and the story is that the beast and her father died and she works with the furniture after learning magic to bring them back to life but not human to get revenge on gaston.
I love how this is so chilling, it's so fascinating to hear what these songs sound like in a minor key because it shows what would've happened if one little thing were to be changed. Great job as always! :>
And if this was the plot of the Maleficent movie/sequel, I would have loved it. You can make Maleficent a good guy but you need to do more with that concept than just that idea
Listening to this I can just imagine Aurora walking through the village, people pricking their fingers and falling asleep in her wake. She enters the castle heading for the throne room, the castle servants succumbing to her curse. She enters the throne room heading towards King Stefan who is begging and pleading, trying to talk her around. Then, she hits him with the lyric about that happy and hopeful girl being dead whilst pulling a move from Maleficent and causing a spinning wheel to appear in front of him. He finally succumbs to the song’s magic and reaches out and pricks his finger, tumbling from his throne as he falls into eternal sleep. Aurora then turns and heads back to the Moors.

Very cool sounds to the vocals: the whispery singing, then evil laugh, then bitterness and sorrow in her voice is fantastic! This one also had the most original lyrics and the imagery related to sewing/clothes making was a very smart idea! Also, great background pic as always!
This fits when Maleficent was shot by Philip's mother. Aurora watched her mother die. The Queen admits to twisting their story to make it appear she saved Aurora and her son from The wicked Maleficent.
If Maleficent didn't get revived, I could see this as an ending for Aurora.
Oh I LOVE the story for this one, probably because Maleficent was the only remake I liked, aha! Aurora getting revenge for Maleficent is a very interesting concept, loved it! And of course the song's sound is great too!

Sequel title and plot: “Sleeping Angel”
Aurora, filled with grief and anger, sets a curse to all the townspeople to a deep sleep. Thanks to Aurora's former guardian fairies, Angel, the last Hope, only falls into the sleep ,at her 16th birthday, that can be ended the entire curse with a kiss, from the boy she loves, a cottage boy named Dash. To prevent Dash from rescuing Angel, Aurora kidnaps and imprisons him. The good fairies are the last hope to free Dash so that he can awaken Angel.
This went from calm and soothing to fire and rage in such short lovely time
“Aurora the Fey Sorceress” is a fantastic concept.. love this story 🖤💚
That beginning is so creepy. The eerie “I know you” makes it sound like she stalked you inside your dream 😳
As someone who has been forced to endure disney films over and over since childhood (due to younger sisters etc :D), i find your villainess arcs a cathartic experience :). You have a wonderful voice and a wonderful storytelling imagination.

You know what might make a pretty good villain song? Simba’s villain song, “I Will Not Wait to be King” in a scenario where Mufasa survives to attack and kills Scar but after realizing his uncle tried to kill him and his father and he saw his father kill his uncle something in Simba breaks. Familial attachments like love, loyalty began to melt away and with those gone there’s nothing holding his desire to be king at bay and he decides to take a page from his uncle’s failed plan and rather then waiting for his father to die and taking his rightful place as king he opts to… expedite the process.

As Aurora completed her spell, she heard the townsfolk falling in their homes. Hard thuds as the other humans fell prey to her curse by spindle, needle or pin. Fires starting as candles were knocked over from their owners' collapse. Ahead she heard a man calling for help, his voice she knew too true. It was *His* voice after all. The one who killed... her. A cruel smile grew on her face as her fingers played along the leather handle of the dagger sheathed along her forearm. She wondered if he'd recognize her. After all, it's been twenty years since she cursed his name holding... her... body. Aurora still felt the blood staining her hands, sending shivers of disgust and a wave of sorrow through her spine.
He finally spotted her, his voice raising in a mixture of relief and fear. The king, crown loose on his head, stopped short in front of Aurora. His eyes widening oh so imperceptibly at her appearance. "Aurora?" He said, voice shaking in some mixture unknown to Aurora. Her smirk grew as his eyes examined her changes, wearing her clothes and eyes glowing dangerously similar to the woman he murdered.
"Hello... Father." Her voice, purring with danger as she stalked closer. Her father stepped back warily as his mouth repeatedly opened while he tried to say something, only broken sounds coming from his disgusting mouth. "It has been what... twenty years? What happened to us... hm?"
Her head tilted at the end as her smile grew a little wider at this helpless man in front of her, her eyes dilating with delight at the hunt. Her father finally found his words, pity.
"I... I-I don't know Aurora. You disappeared after the... events of all those years ago. I-I don't kn-"
Her hand suddenly shot out and grabbed his throat, her magically enhanced muscles pushing him into the wall behind him... cracking the stonework and causing him to cry out in sweet pain.
"YOU MUR-" She started to shout before she stopped herself, taking a shaky breath. Aurora chuckled darkly before looking at him, his eyes growing in horror. "You murdered my mother in cold blood. And before you say anything about how she was an evil sorceress... who made her that way, hm? After all, it was you who took her wings."

I would love to hear the non- villain part to. The beginning started to sound like a lullaby. I was imagining how it would be good if aurora was singling to her daughter about the song she meet her prince. But this 180 was good to.
