i love how she threw the candle into the river at the end. it showed that she was suffering so much that she was willing to sacrifice the miracle itself if it meant relief. a beautiful masterpiece, really
@Harshini Roy i mean, with a "gift" like that, im pretty sure no one would blame her if they knew the truth. I reckon that doloroses "gift" affected her in a bad way purely because kf the nsture of it. Theres actuslly a lot of phychology videos tha explain the effects a "gift" like that would have on a person.
I really felt sorry for her. I can't believe she threw the candle into the river just to make her gift disappear. 3:00 really suits the ending of the song. It's so great, I love it. I hope they make it in the sequel.
Almost all of the gifts are either VERY potentially dangerous (on accident, these are the ones that don't need malicious intent to be SUPER dangerous) (Isabella, Luisa, Pepa, Bruno) or VERY likely to mess up its own wielder mentally (Camilo, Bruno, Dolores, and possibly Antonio). As far as I'm concerned, there's only one safe one: Julieta. I don't see any potential way her gift could hurt her or someone else or play havoc with her identity. Antonio might be safe as well, depending on how realistically we're depicting animal behavior here. I get that normally dangerous animals not hurting him is just part of his gift, but nature can be pretty R-rated sometimes. I can just see his more carnivorous friends talking about extremely bloody stuff that a boy that young doesn't need to hear about.
@@ceinwenchandler4716 I can see Julieta's gift having problems as well. There would be a lot of pressure on her to constantly be making food and healing who's hurt, possibly to a point where she just can't take a break because of how much needs to be done.
The transition between Isabella to Luisa is something I’ve been hoping someone would do. I love it so much!! Along with this whole animatic. Out of all the ones I’ve seen, this one feels like it would fit into the movie the most. Very well done
I feel like this animatic captures the song best. The part with Dolores thinking of throwing the candle in the water really captures the song’s message of her just wanting all the rumors, issues, sounds, and troubles going on rn to be over even if the magic leaves. She just wants it to end. Edit: shut up about the villain Dolores theory, that’s dumb and stupid.
Watch the movie again right after the collapse you can see Mirabel’s arm twitching above the dying flame as if she wants to stuff it out. That makes Encanto holds 2 Disney records. The first Disney female lead to wear glasses and the first Disney heroine that almost became a villain.
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS YET?? The movement is incredible, and that’s not even mentioning the dynamic shots!! (Which are of course, stellar as well!)
This is the best animatic of this song i've seen so far! The movements, the translations and the style looks amazing! You are so talented and i'm surprised this doesn't have more likes or coments.
If it was part of the movie I think the candle would've still lit up in the water or even magically teleported back to the room, indicating that the fire won't go out that easily and foreshadowing how it depends on the whole family's bond! (What a missed opportunity)
I love the lighting and shading you've done in this animatic. And Dolores's eyes are SO FULL OF EXPRESSION!!!! They feel alive. This needs to have 1,000,000 views exactly after one week, ASAP
Honestly this could totally a misunderstood villain arc by the way she threw the candle and it went out Probably the best animation of the song I’ve ever seen, it’s really awesome!
EYO THIS STORYBOARDING IS ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL!! Absolutely amazing, this has gotta be the best "Turn It Down" animatic ever, the animation, the dynamic poses and frame with each character, the transitions LIKE THIS RIGHT HERE 1:49 IS GENIUS!! That ending was so well portrayed and you made such good use of the end of the song, Dolores hesitating before getting overwhelmed by the voices and yeeting the candle out the balcony AAAAAAAAA Hope OR3O, Adassa and everyone that worked on this song can see this, I'm definitely sending this to my homies💛💛
I don't think there should be an antagonist but if there was I could totally see Delores fitting that role! Imagine her explaining her struggles to her family while holding the candle over the river or something. It would force the family to consider if the miracle is even worth having in the first place.
Dolores really hates her gift and wants to end it so badly. Fun fact - Dolores literally translates to “sorrows” or “pain” in Spanish. That means she's always in pain.
Can you imagine being able to hear literally everything within the borders of the town? Itd be maddening, while some people dont like the idea of her being called a "villain", thats what she'd end up being if she selfishly took and "put out" the candle, its understandable why she would do it, at at the end of the day. Her peace and quiet would require the family to fall.
The part at the end got my creative juices a-flowing, so here's an idea I came up with. Dolores, throughout the movie, can hear all of her family members' pain. "Waiting on a Miracle", "Surface Pressure", Bruno in the walls, everything, coupled with her own issues her gift comes with. Slowly, she begins to believe that the magic is the cause of all their problems, and they'd be better without it. After the dinner scene, she breaks. She sneaks up to the candle room, planning to snuff it out and fix all their problems, no one ever has to know. However, just as she is about to do it, she hesitates, just long enough to get caught. The scene devolves into a confrontation between Dolores and the rest of the family, her explaining what she was about to do and why, and the others at first trying to stop her, but then contemplating whether or not she's right.
I can't say I would blame her some there gifts are not really gifts more like curses like bruno, herself, Pepa and Lusia and Isabella being pushed to far with there's I think I might consider doing something like that to at some point.
I 100% agree with all of the comments here - this is absolutely brilliant!!! It feels like I am watching an official Disney storyboard for this song - I hope this absolutely blows up :)
Oh my GOD, this is AMAZING. Dolores taking the candle and throwing it in the water really REALLY captures her emotions and the struggle she has with her gift
it's Abt Dolores. Isa got mad at Dolores for ruining her wedding even though she said later on in the movie she didn't even want to marry him. Dolores was also the only one who opened her mouth because Mira didn't say anything about what was going on and then boom, Dolores just screwed up the whole wedding when Abuela saw the future sight. May be out of jealousy. who knows.
i like the idea of Dolores seriously contemplating throwing the candle into the water by Casita, She believes her gift was a curse rather than a blessing and just wants it to end
this is STUNNING the dynamic, transitions, art style, expressions, animation - everything is PERFECT. just WOW! this is really feels like a clip from the movie!
Wow. The end kind of shocked me, because Dolores is usually a really kind and Compassionate character. Love the movements, they are SO smooth. And don’t even get me started on the emotion in Dolores’s eyes.
This is excellent! The expressions are really emotive, there are lots of dynamic shots (like seeing out of Mirabell's bag, and when the camera flipped around Dolores when everything was black and white) and what an ending! A lot of people speculate about what would have happened if Mirabell had destroyed the candle, but I love the idea of Dolores doing it to finally get some quiet. I really hope more people pick up on this idea/see this fabulous work of art! Well done 👏👏👏
THIS IS AMAZING!! I have watched several animations, as I like to animate as well. Many of them I wasn’t able to watch fully through, as I just lost intrest. This kept me staring every second, te movements, expressions, camera angles, and storytelling! All so great! Plus I loved the idea of Dolores wanting to get rid of the gift after all these years of noices everywhere. Edit: Plus I love the gestures of the characters! Everything is so creative! Especially the villagers in the beginning, they were so funny! :D
I love how it’s going I love the transitions it’s amazing the movements for the characters the emotion from there faces is so amazing I’m amazed the details in there the way how Dolores through the candle was also very impressive I love everything about this I think this should have more views and likes this is amazing amazing work I can’t wait on till it’s finished
I'm speechless. I won't say this is the best cause everyone's is great in their own right, but it paints an amazing picture of an alternate plot to the film. Imagine. Soft-spoken, quiet, cheerful, Fly on the wall Delores breaks down due to her "gift" and goes so far as to snuff out the candle herself. The prophecy actually being about her, instead of Abuela's perfectionism. With the candle in the river, Casita instantly falls apart and everyone loses their gifts in that moment. Just how much can you do with this plot? How would the family handle it? How can they fix it this time? What could be learned from it? The possibilities of this timeline are endless and I so badly wish I could see it play out. I love the film and its true plot to pieces but this, this sounds worth exploring.
Disney should def animate this, it doesn't have to be part of like if they come out with part 2 or sum, but they can animate it and upload it on TH-cam, This is such good animation too! You did a great job =]
One thing that confuses me, the start of the song takes place after mirabel breaks into brunos room, and then at 1:44 isabella is complaining that she ruined the propsal which takes place after we dont talk about bruno, if anyone wnats to explain this and maybe help my confusion please do :)
The song is actually supposed to take place right after “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” this was confirmed by Or3o on Twitter and TikTok. That’s why you hear Isabela complaining and Mirabel wants to find Bruno.
"there are secrets i won't tell~, not unless they break the spell~," is such a good way to foreshadow dolores telling on mirabel, that now i'm just really bothered this song wasn't in the movie. like imagine dolores purposefully spilling what she heard bc maybe she thought if she did, the miracle might get fractured, and she might finally be free. 😭😭
just stumbled across this... AMAZING lyrics and singing just 10/10. this fits dolores perfectly. the way the voices overlap and sort of give us the idea of what everything sounds like for her.... SO well done. ppl judge dolores bc she never said anything about bruno (lol) but like. she probably thought she was crazy. like she's LITERALLY going insane from her "gift". someone give the poor girl some noise-cancelling headphones 😭also 100% completely support her snuffing out the candle, she's so valid for that
This is one of the best animations I've ever seen. The experessions, the transitions, I can't- 😫 It's just wonderful and hope it reaches more views. I didn't expect Dolores to yeet the candle too 😭🖐
I always feel like the story would've been quite interesting if every gifted person in the house finally had enough and threw the candle in the river just so they could live a normal life. I know it would be suck; I didn't say it would be nice, but the story directions of grandkids finally had enough of bullshit and snapped would be such a powerful massage and worth watching. I'd love to watch a fan-made alternate version of that storyline any day.
Honestly super hearing sounds like a nightmare. Pun intended I stand by that. But no seriously imagine a line of ants sounding like a bunch of people marching. It always seems cool and honestly useful. But it's like one of those things ya can't turn off. Maybe her room is soundproof? Gosh I'd hope so
It is (the director said so) but only by an average person’s standards since she can still hear Luisa’s eye twitching. Seriously though as somebody who can’t handle noise because it makes my brain feel like it’s too full and boosts my adrenaline like crazy.
As someone who suffers from adhd and tinnitus, this is basically what it's like in my brain lol 😅 but really this song is amazing and don't even get me started on the animation! I'd love to see this fully animated one day ❤
Dude, this is insane and amazingly accurate to the movie too! The expressions are on point. I loved camillos and Isabellas and lusia's animation. Incredibly accurate and the ending was awesome. 😂
OMG WHY DOES THIS LOOK SO MUCH LIKE THE REAL MOVIE STORYBOARD BEFORE MAKING IT IN THE REAL FILM!?!? (You know what I mean right?) THIS IS JUST AMAZING!!
Their is a great annoyance in noise when you want silence, it can dive anyone insane. However their is also terror in silence when their should be noise and the movie does this so well in the few scenes we get of Delores looking for her family after the house fell.
absolutely stunning!!!! i could totally see this being a deleted scene from encanto ^^ the movements, transitions and staging (or area idk how to say it) was perfect!!!!!!
I love how Delores' voice is being overwhelmed by the background noice, you can hear her but barely, its like when you talk in a noisy environment the noise around will make your voice sound weaker
I thought I would never find the perfect animation but I already found it, The animation is so cool and the transitions were pretty cool with the song. This animation must be in 3D without a doubt 1000/10 😭👌
i love this SO MUCH OH MY GOD the way you captured the feeling of all the sounds coming from every direction all at once and it's too much (as someone who gets overstimulated by sound as well: NAILED that) the transitions between all the different family members the way the sound ripples morph into like waves which morph into the figures of a crowd and then into stormlike winds the damn expressionS i could go on holy heck
God this is great! It really has a similar pacing and feel to some visuals for musical numbers in official Disney stuff which just makes it feel even MORE authentic! Very cool!
Oh. My. Gosh. BEST ANIMATIC! This is amazing! The expression everyone shows is incredible! I also loved Camilos part. That part and the end were beautiful! You have incredible talent!
Omg out of all the animations I've seen for this song this one's the best by far! Also loved the ending of her throwing the candle I feel like it's probably something Dolores wants to do secretly.
Great work on this animatic! It's beautiful and really impactful! On another note: The amount of people in the comments taking the "Dolores is the Villain" theory to mean that makes her a bad person is honestly funny to me. That's not what that has to mean. A villain is: "a character in a story who opposes the hero.". in Encanto, Mirabel is the hero and Dolores does and doesn't several things throughout the movie that cause Mirabels serious problems. Sharing what Mirabel and her father talked about and practically gaslighting her about the cracks in Casita. This doesn't mean she's some evil schemer. This technically doesn't mean you'd have to consider her a villain either, but her actions are in opposition to what Mirabel wants. Dolores isn't even the only character who does things like that, and even within MatPat's theory, which is just a theory and it's up to you if you want to headcanon it or not, it addresses that Dolores' miracle is actively driving her crazy and even if she'd want to get rid of it, that would make so much sense. However, given how ostracized Mirabel is for not having a power, that's not exactly a much nicer option. Is Dolores secretly causing the Casita to fall apart in some evil scheme? No. Absolutely not. But her actions actively antagonize Mirabel and that at least makes her a someone antagonistic force.
This is incredibly well made The action and choreography It's very amazing 👏 The transition between Luisa and Isabela was just so creative I could tell this was gonna be great with in the first 10 secs
DUDDEEEE this is the best version i have seen YET the transitions are GOLD and the story is amazing!!! They should hire you and OR30 to put this together for the Encanto 2! (delores should be the villain this time cuz its just way too loud)

SO well done. ppl judge dolores bc she never said anything about bruno (lol) but like. she probably thought she was crazy. like she's LITERALLY going insane from her "gift". someone give the poor girl some noise-cancelling headphones 😭also 100% completely support her snuffing out the candle, she's so valid for that
1:14 and 2:50 OMG ! I can't stop watching that scene! it's so so perfect! I really loved this video, how much talent! 💗💗
This is one of the best animations I've ever seen. The experessions, the transitions, I can't- 😫 It's just wonderful and hope it reaches more views. I didn't expect Dolores to yeet the candle too 😭🖐
THERES SO MUCH FLOW PUT INTO THIS THAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE IT COULD BE REAL, AMAZING WORK
I always feel like the story would've been quite interesting if every gifted person in the house finally had enough and threw the candle in the river just so they could live a normal life. I know it would be suck; I didn't say it would be nice, but the story directions of grandkids finally had enough of bullshit and snapped would be such a powerful massage and worth watching. I'd love to watch a fan-made alternate version of that storyline any day.
This is the most wonderful version of this song and probably the best animation I have ever seen from an Encanto! I'm in love!!!
Ojalá pronto alguien tome esta base y anime completamente el video, es simplemente hermoso 🥺
This is by far the best animation for this song!!
can someone pls just give her a round of applause cause this was just TOO good!
By far the best animation I have seen!! I love every single frame of it!!
YOU DESERVE MORE VIEWS!!!!!!!! THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL
at the end of this animatic shes like
" aight ive had enough candle , YEET "
This animatic was the best✨
Best turn it down animation! Especially when Mirabel closes her bag. Masterpiece!
Hermoso🥺, ojalá y Disney o alguien pueda adaptar está animación al formato original ❤️
@Harshini Roy They said "Beautiful🥺, I hope Disney or someone could adapt this animation into the original format❤"
OMG WHY DOES THIS LOOK SO MUCH LIKE THE REAL MOVIE STORYBOARD BEFORE MAKING IT IN THE REAL FILM!?!? (You know what I mean right?) THIS IS JUST AMAZING!!
The transitions, the details, the creativity. I CANNNTTT THIS IS SO AMAZING
This NEEDS more views and recognition! Your awesome at drawing!
My favorite animatic by far!! I LOVE the attention to details!
Personally, I think this is the best animation of the song Turn it down. Well done!! 💫💫💫
Love the ending! Can't even blame Dolores, she got the short end of the stick power-wise
I love how Delores' voice is being overwhelmed by the background noice, you can hear her but barely, its like when you talk in a noisy environment the noise around will make your voice sound weaker
By far the best animatic I've ever seen. Let's push it far
This whole family is one bad day away from having a Joker origin story
I love the heavy drumbeat in the music; it's like the pounding of poor Dolores' ears x.x
GET THEM MORE VIEWS. THIS IS A MASTERPIECE
THIS IS SO SWEET THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
@@DulzorDraws OMG HII!! YW!!
I love your concept sooooooo much !
I thought I would never find the perfect animation but I already found it, The animation is so cool and the transitions were pretty cool with the song.
This animation must be in 3D without a doubt
1000/10 😭👌
This is amazing! The dynamics, the movement.....Queen, this is for you 👑
i love this SO MUCH OH MY GOD
the way you captured the feeling of all the sounds coming from every direction all at once and it's too much (as someone who gets overstimulated by sound as well: NAILED that)
the transitions between all the different family members
the way the sound ripples morph into like waves which morph into the figures of a crowd and then into stormlike winds
the damn expressionS
i could go on holy heck
This legit had me tearing up in parts 🥺
Awesome job!!!
So good!now just need to Color !
Even if Dolores was to do this 3:12 i don’t think casita would let her but great video 😊
I adore some casita acknowledgment
This is the best animatic so far! It wouldn't be out of place in the movie 👏
God this is great! It really has a similar pacing and feel to some visuals for musical numbers in official Disney stuff which just makes it feel even MORE authentic! Very cool!
HOLY?? THIS IS AMAZING OMG
Oh. My. Gosh. BEST ANIMATIC! This is amazing! The expression everyone shows is incredible! I also loved Camilos part. That part and the end were beautiful! You have incredible talent!
Oh my god I can’t imagine how long this took!! This looks beautiful, but the thing I’m most amazed with is how you did all those transitions!❤️
So many awesome animatics to this song, but I think this one is my favorite. Love it!
Omg out of all the animations I've seen for this song this one's the best by far! Also loved the ending of her throwing the candle I feel like it's probably something Dolores wants to do secretly.
Great work on this animatic! It's beautiful and really impactful!
On another note:
The amount of people in the comments taking the "Dolores is the Villain" theory to mean that makes her a bad person is honestly funny to me.
I seriously love how creative this fandom is💖💖
Wow!!! Underrated as hell, this is phenomenal!!!
Thank you so much Erin!! I really loved your animation of this song, it’s awesome to have a fellow animator here! :D
I've heard this song a ton, this animatic gave me shivers! You're so so talented
This is incredibly well made
The action and choreography
It's very amazing 👏
The transition between
Luisa and Isabela was just so creative
I could tell this was gonna be great with in the first 10 secs
DUDDEEEE this is the best version i have seen YET
the transitions are GOLD and the story is amazing!!!
They should hire you and OR30 to put this together for the Encanto 2!
(delores should be the villain this time cuz its just way too loud)
