    This is a great help, thinking of tackling this job myself. Can't wait to see what the replacement looks like

    Thank you for the video. I have a 2014 and I have to say it’s unfortunately the dumbest design of a car I’ve ever dealt with. I’d love the car more if it didn’t have unnecessary steps to fix everything. I could typically diy things on my older car but since getting my mini, I’ve been disappointed in the ability to easily customize.
    Removing the glove box to change a radio is wild to me.

    Thank you so much super helpful video. I am installing an aftermarket head unit with the metra dash kit on my R60. Does anyone know what the yellow, green, black and white cables are at 13:52 on the video? I don't mean the big harness, I have a metra adapter harness for that. I know one of them is an satellite radio antenna but I really would like to know what the other cables are. If anyone knows what those individual cables are please advise.

      Hi look at this, diagram green is for the stock microphone and yellow is for the stock aux in if I am reading this right: portal-diagnostov.com/en/2020/04/11/radio-mini-cooper-countryman-s-all4-2014-system-wiring-diagrams/

    Great help, thanks. Any vid on a screen washer level sensor issue?

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not yet. Something I found online that may help you: As far as I’m aware, the sensor is in the bottom on the washer bottle, accessed behind the wheel arch liner.
      You just pull the sensor straight out of the container, after disconnecting the wiring plug, obviously catch all the water in a container, and theres a sealing grommet which should be undamaged and coated with an anti seize compound before replacing and then the unit pushed back into place.
      Looks like some sort of reed/float valve, could well be stuck and need a clean.

      @@tweedbean Thanks very much for the info 😁 Started the paceman head removal, didn't get very far. Need a longer T20 torx screwdriver! The radio power button stopped working. Looks like a common fault.

      @@tweedbean PS, would you know a garage that maybe able to remove the head / repair the radio, if I find it's beyond me? See a few guys on eBay offering a radio button repair service but the unit needs to be posted. West Mids area. Thanks again.

    So what if you only have the speedometer part of the head unit getting replaced. Can you get away with not doing most of those steps just to see unscrew the speedometer and plug in the new one? Without messing with the disc reader I mean

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately not, I think you would have to get to the back of speedo from memory to faff with cables etc

    Just bought a 15 Countryman. I love it, however, I am disappointed at the absolute inane design concerning regular maintenance.
